The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Meanwhile, inside the interrogation room.

Mr. Qin looked exhausted, clearly having spent a great deal of energy.

From routine questioning to using psychological pressure tactics, and even earnest persuasion, yet Guo Yong across from him was like a stone soaked through, impervious to everything, repeatedly emphasizing his innocence.

Evidently, he had figured the police currently lacked direct evidence to link him directly to the homicide.

Mr. Qin placed both hands on the table, leaned slightly forward, and stared at Guo Yong with eyes like a torch, speaking in a deep voice: ”I suggest you carefully weigh your current situation.”

”Our policy has always been one of leniency combined with severity. If you continue to stubbornly argue like this, I promise that all that awaits you is a bullet that will end everything.”

”But if you confess now, perhaps you can still fight for a chance to live.”

Upon hearing this, Guo Yong not only didn’t hold back but instead scoffed, swinging his raised leg arrogantly.

”Officer, dragging me out of bed in the middle of the night just to give me a lesson on ideology?”

”Talking about freedom? The first thing I’m going to do when I get out is make you pay! I’m going to report your illegal detention, just the emotional distress will cost you ten grand easy.”

”Do you know how damaging it is to be suddenly awakened?”

”Bursting in suddenly, you’ll make me sick.”

”If I get insomnia later, your public security bureau will be responsible for all subsequent treatment costs.”

”Sign an agreement wouldn’t be too much, would it?”

”Every time I get sick, it’s on you to treat it!”

At this moment, a young officer sitting beside Mr. Qin couldn’t help but let out a mocking laugh: ”You? Bet you found the wrong place to act tough!”

Guo Yong chuckled and said: ”A man with nothing to lose isn’t afraid of someone with shoes — my parents are long gone, no children, no wife, just a single guy, what’s there to fear?”

”You all are different, with families to worry about.”

”If you really push me, I’ll make sure you can’t wear that uniform anymore!”

Instantly, Mr. Qin’s mouth twitched fiercely, suppressing his anger, his voice as cold as ice: ”Not very old, yet already so arrogant.”

”I’ve seen all sorts of people in this interrogation room, it’s not the first time someone has threatened to rip off my uniform, but shameless thugs like you are indeed rare.”

”Let me remind you one last time: confess for leniency, resist for severity.”

”If you continue to be stubborn, we can only lawfully hand the case to the prosecutors, and then you’ll be facing judgment in court.”

”I have nothing to confess.”

Guo Yong shrugged indifferently, ”Don’t believe you can fabricate evidence out of thin air.”

”The smart thing would be to let me go, otherwise... there’ll come a time you regret it.”

Suddenly, the heavily built door of the interrogation room unexpectedly clicked open from the outside.

Mr. Qin and the officer beside him were almost simultaneously drawn by the sudden noise, both turning their heads to look towards the entrance.

Director Hou, Political Commissioner Li, and Jiang An walked in one after another.

Mr. Qin immediately stood up, body straightened, respectfully greeting the three leaders: ”Commissioner, Director Hou, Mr. Jiang.”

The trio said little, merely nodding slightly in acknowledgment of his greeting.

Then they directed their gaze at the suspect Guo Yong across the interrogation table.

Director Hou directly inquired Mr. Qin: ”How is it going, Mr. Qin? Any progress?”

Mr. Qin looked troubled, shook his head, his tone carrying a tinge of helplessness and urgency: ”This person is incredibly stubborn, steadfastly refusing to admit his crime.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Director Hou stepped forward directly, walking up to Guo Yong.

”Show me your left hand.”

With these words, a flicker of unmistakable fear passed through Guo Yong’s eyes.

He instinctively tucked his left hand behind him, arguing defensively: ”Why look at my hand?”

”What’s it got to do with the case?”

”I told you to show it, just show it, don’t waste time with nonsense!”

Director Hou’s tone suddenly became severe.

At the same time, Political Commissioner Li also stepped forward, his expression livid, anger even greater, shouting sternly: ”Don’t want to extend your hand?”

”Is there some unspeakable evidence hidden on that hand of yours?”

Under the sharp gaze of the two leaders, Guo Yong’s expression fluctuated several times before finally seeming to have given up, stiffening his neck, saying: ”What’s there to fear? Look as you will!”

With that, he roughly extended his left hand, first palm facing up, then flipping it to palm down, swiftly turning and displaying it in the air.

”How’s that? Interested in an old man’s hand so much?”

”Go ahead, look, as much as you want!”

However, Director Hou and Political Commissioner Li paid little attention to his act, their gaze almost simultaneously shifting to Jiang An standing beside them.

Jiang An understood, stepping forward slowly, his gaze locked onto Guo Yong’s left hand.

After a moment, he straightened up and solemnly nodded to Director Hou and Political Commissioner Li.

Standing to the side, Mr. Qin and the young officer witnessed the events unfold in full, but felt filled with doubt and confusion.

This didn’t align with standard interrogation procedures, the whole process carried an inexplicable sense of mystery.

They exchanged glances, seeing the same questions in each other’s eyes, but due to rank and discipline, dared not speak up abruptly.

Just as Mr. Qin couldn’t hold back anymore, taking a step forward to quietly voice his doubts, Jiang An spoke first.
