The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

This time, as the captain of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Local City Public Security Bureau, Jiang An received unprecedented high-level reception at the Provincial Public Security Department.

The Chief of the Criminal Investigation General Team not only personally came out to greet him but also specially arranged for a working lunch, where while speaking highly of his criminal investigation skills, he also conveyed the provincial leaders’ earnest expectations and solemn directives for his future work.

This lunch was no longer just a simple welcoming banquet, but more like a pre-battle mobilization, a transfer of responsibility.

After the lunch ended, Director Hou immediately led Jiang An and two young key members to set off.

The first stop on their trip was chosen to be the Qinzhou City Public Security Bureau.

The reason for choosing Qinzhou as the first stop of the tour guidance was partly because during the on-site questioning session that morning, the Qinzhou City Bureau was the first to take out the invitation letter, showing an extremely high level of enthusiasm.

On the other hand, considering Qinzhou is close to the Provincial Department, it facilitates the quick progression of the task force’s work.

After all, this was the first large-scale touring case-solving operation organized by the Provincial Department, the entire task force was formed somewhat hastily, and the personnel configuration was still being improved, so starting nearby was undoubtedly the most prudent strategy.

At exactly 2 PM, a silver minivan slowly drove out of the highway exit.

Surprisingly, as soon as the convoy exited the toll booth, they saw three police cars already neatly lined up waiting at the intersection.

Seeing this scene through the car window, Director Hou immediately said to the driver, Li, ”Pull over, the comrades from the Qinzhou Bureau have come to receive us.”

Li understood and gently steered the vehicle to a steady stop in front of the police car team.

At this moment, the lineup at the intersection from the Qinzhou City Public Security Bureau was rather grand—Political Commissioner Li Changming personally led the team, with the Deputy Director in charge of criminal investigation, the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Brigade, and eight key team members all present.

As soon as the minivan came to a halt, Political Commissioner Li Changming quickly stepped forward to greet them.

As Director Hou opened the door and got out of the car, Political Commissioner Li had already warmly extended both hands: ”Director Hou, what a journey you’ve had! I’m really sorry for the trouble.”

”It’s all for the work. The visit to Qinzhou is both to assist in the case investigation and also to provide an opportunity for our young comrades from the Provincial Department to broaden their horizons.”

”You’re being too polite,” Political Commissioner Li waved repeatedly, ”we should be the ones learning from the experts at the Provincial Department.”

”Captain Jiang An is leading the team this time to guide us, and we couldn’t be more eager for it!”

”Political Commissioner Li is too modest.”

Director Hou smiled as he turned to introduce Jiang An, standing behind him.

Li Changming immediately turned to Jiang An, warmly extending both hands: ”Captain Jiang, a pleasure to finally meet you!”

”I’ve long heard that you are a young talent in the field of criminal investigation, and it’s truly our honor to have you here in Qinzhou for guidance this time.”

Jiang An stepped forward quickly to shake the other’s hand: ”Political Commissioner Li overpraises.”

”I’m here to learn alongside Director Hou and look forward to guidance from colleagues at the Qinzhou Bureau.”

”Not at all,” Political Commissioner Li laughed heartily, ”this morning I was handling a case at a district and couldn’t attend your lecture on investigative methodology, such a regret.”

”But now it’s great, having you here for on-site guidance in case solving is much more invaluable than attending a theoretical class!”

”Political Commissioner Li flatters,” Jiang An said sincerely, ”we’re here to learn from each other and work together to handle the case well.”

Next, the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Team, Qin Feng, approached quickly and tightly shook hands with Jiang An, saying earnestly, ”Captain Jiang, thank you for coming such a long way to support us!”

”I’m Qin Feng from the Qinzhou City Criminal Investigation Brigade, and I’ve long heard of your extensive experience in solving major cases. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person!”

Jiang An also smiled as he returned the handshake warmly, responding modestly, ”Mr. Qin is too kind. It’s my honor to stand alongside everyone, and I hope for a pleasant collaboration ahead.”

After a brief exchange of courtesies, both sides didn’t delay further and hurried to the meeting room of the Qinzhou City Public Security Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Brigade.

minutes later, Qin Feng pushed open the meeting room door, revealing a room already packed to capacity.

The entire special task force stood up in synchronization, their eyes filled with both anticipation and respect.

A prominent headline on the projection screen at the front boldly read: ”Case 730: The Murder of Li in the Farmland.”

As Jiang An and his group entered the room, a spontaneous and prolonged applause erupted across the room, with everyone rising to pay respect.

Faced with such a grand welcome, Jiang An felt somewhat flattered and didn’t expect such a high-level reception.

Once everyone was seated again, Political Commissioner Li personally went to the podium to preside over this meeting.

His voice was loud and powerful as he began, ”Good afternoon to all the comrades fighting on the front lines of criminal investigation!”

”Today, we are very honored to have Director Hou and his team from the Provincial Department here specifically to guide the handling of several complex cases in our city.”

”It’s worth mentioning that this guidance is also the starting point of their provincial case-solving tour, fully demonstrating the Provincial Department’s high regard and strong support for our Qinzhou City’s criminal investigation work.”

”All of us in the criminal investigation team must cherish this valuable opportunity, and humbly seek advice and learn from Director Hou, Captain Jiang, and other experts.”

”This morning, Captain Jiang already gave a vivid and profound lecture on investigation theory to our provincial criminal investigation officers, and the reception was enthusiastic. Everyone reported gaining substantial knowledge and deep insights.”

”Theory must be integrated with practice, and using scientific theory to guide investigative practice allows us to handle cases more solidly and thoroughly.”

Upon finishing, he turned sideways to look at the projection screen, his expression turning solemn as he continued, ”The case on the screen is a long-standing unresolved case in our city.”
