The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

A relative who came to help with the funeral arrangements might actually be the real murderer who took the victim’s life?

This is not only a moral collapse but also a subversion of humanity.

Political Commissioner Li pondered for a moment, then turned his gaze to Director Hou and Mr. Qin, speaking resolutely, ”Since the clues are pointing to this Guo Yong, I suggest that the next investigation work should be centered around him, how do you see it?”

Director Hou nodded slightly, then turned to look at Jiang An.

Jiang An also nodded solemnly in agreement.

Director Hou immediately continued, ”Time is of the essence, I suggest immediate deployment for capture to prevent him from getting alerted and escaping.”

”Good!”

Political Commissioner Li made a decisive decision, ”The special task force should act immediately, meticulously deploy, and ensure the capture operation is foolproof.”

Before the voice fell, Mr. Qin had already stepped forward, his tone firm: ”Political Commissioner Li, I request to lead the team to carry out this capture mission.”

”Approved. We are waiting for your good news.”

Political Commissioner Li replied solemnly.

Mr. Qin quickly selected four criminal investigation backbones, and the group rushed to Guo Yong’s location according to his household registration information to carry out the capture.

After they left, Political Commissioner Li turned around to face Director Hou, with a bit of appreciation in his tone, ”Director Hou, this time it’s really fortunate that you came to guide us.”

”The breakthroughs in the case could not have been achieved without your professional judgement and keen insight.”

”Had it not been for you to wake us up, we might still be going around in circles, clueless.”

Director Hou’s lips raised slightly, he gently clapped his hands, turned to glance at Jiang An beside him, and smiled, ”Actually, Political Commissioner Li, Jiang An is the one you should thank the most.”

”If it weren’t for his careful thoughts in finding the key clues from small details, this case might still be wandering in the fog for a much longer time.”

Jiang An smiled humbly upon hearing this, replying, ”Director Hou is overpraising me.”

”Every step of the case’s progress is inseparable from a large amount of solid groundwork in the early stage.”

”We only took a small step on the road paved by our predecessors.”

Upon hearing these words, a gratified smile appeared on Political Commissioner Li’s face—this is not only recognition of their early efforts but also affirmation of the team spirit of cooperation.

With deep feelings, he said, ”Yes, only by supporting each other can a great show continue.”

After a brief pause, he sincerely added, ”Director Hou, you are really too modest.”

”Ever since you led the team over, the progress speed of our case has significantly accelerated, with one breakthrough after another.”

”Although the case is not concluded yet, I feel that the day when the truth is revealed is not far away.”

”When the case is solved, we must properly set up a banquet to formally thank everyone for your strong support.”

At this moment, Mr. Qin had already led the capture group silently into the village.

The night was as black as ink, only occasional barking from afar broke the silence.

According to previous household registration information, the suspect Guo Yong’s address is located at 8 Society, No. 2.

To avoid alerting him, they parked the vehicle several hundred meters outside the village in a concealed position, then under the moonlight, swiftly and silently approached the target along a narrow village path.

The red-brick courtyard walls gradually revealed their outlines in the dim night, the iron gate of 8 Society, No. 2 was tightly shut, and there was no light inside the courtyard, seeming to sleep along with the owner.

Mr. Qin stopped, his sharp gaze quickly sweeping over the courtyard wall—less than two meters high, the brick surface slightly rough.

He lowered his voice to the team members behind him, ”Time is tight, we must seize the moment.”

”Follow the collaborative climbing tactics from police training, immediately climb over the wall to capture, not giving the opponent a chance to react.”

”Understood!” The four team members replied in unison, their voices light yet firm.

They immediately formed a human ladder beside the wall, their actions clean and efficient. One person crouched as the base, another stepped up onto his shoulders, held the wall top, and pulled himself up, the entire process taking just over ten seconds.

Then, the member on the wall tossed down a rope, allowing the rest to quickly climb over.

After the four entered the yard, the last team member stayed outside to keep watch, hidden in the corner shadows, vigilantly observing the surroundings.

Mr. Qin landed and immediately crouched to swiftly survey the courtyard layout.

A two-story small foreign-style building stood quietly in the center of the courtyard, with three rooms below and three rooms above, all windows covered by heavy curtains, making it impossible to see inside.

He gestured, and the team members quickly gathered around.

”Divide into two groups,” Mr. Qin deployed in an almost inaudible voice, ”Li and Zhang start from the left side, Wang and I from the right side push forward.”

”Carefully check every window, looking for the bedroom.”

”Move lightly but quickly.”

Immediately, the two groups began their operation.

They gently probed the latch of each window, observing through the gaps.

As time ticked away, everyone’s nerves were tense.

Five minutes later, a slight tapping sound came through the walkie-talkie—the signal prearranged, target location confirmed.

They quickly gathered outside a bedroom on the right side of the second floor.

Standing at the door, they could clearly hear the sound of snoring from inside.

Mr. Qin made a gesture to prepare for action, and the four immediately spread into tactical formations.

With a deep breath, Mr. Qin suddenly lifted his right leg, and with all his strength, kicked at the door lock position.

With a loud ”bang,” the wooden door was thrown open, hitting the inside wall with a thunderous echo.

A middle-aged man on the bed was startled awake by the unexpected noise, propping himself up in panic, groggily exclaiming, ”Who? Who are you?”

”What’s happening? What’s happening?”

As soon as the words fell, four dazzling beams of light suddenly shone on his face, immediately followed by four dark gun barrels.

He instinctively raised his arm to block his eyes, his pupils contracted sharply under the bright light, taking a while to barely adapt to this suffocating brightness.

”Is it a robbery?”

His voice trembled, trying hard to maintain a surface calm, ”My wallet is in my pocket, you can take all my money, just don’t shoot...”

”We are not robbers.”

Mr. Qin stepped forward, ”Take a good look, City Bureau Criminal Investigation Unit.”

He held the police badge forward a bit further, ”Guo Yong, cooperate with the work.”

”Police?”

Guo Yong’s tense shoulders slightly relaxed, but the confusion in his eyes deepened.

He cautiously lowered his hand blocking the light, ”In the middle of the night... I’ve been behaving well lately, haven’t done anything wrong.”

Mr. Qin put away the badge, his gaze sharp as a blade, ”There’s a reason to find you in the middle of the night.”

”Don’t you have any idea about what you have done yourself?”

”I really don’t know what you are talking about.”

Guo Yong spread his hands, his face innocent, ”I am just a regular citizen, what kind of illegal activities could I possibly be involved in?”

”If you can’t remember, we’ll take you to a different place to help you recall.”

Mr. Qin signaled to the back, ”Put on your clothes, come back to the Bureau with us.”

Twenty minutes later, in the 1st interrogation room of the Criminal Investigation Unit, it was brightly lit.

Guo Yong was uneasy on a specially designed interrogation chair, looking around the enclosed space.

The harsh white light shot directly down from the ceiling, illuminating every expression on his face with nowhere to hide.

Through the one-way glass, Political Commissioner Li slightly frowned, observing.

Mr. Qin sat down opposite, placing the case file lightly on the table.

He spoke, ”To everyone who comes here, I usually say the same thing first.”

”Before the formal interrogation begins, if you can proactively confess your criminal deeds, showing sincere repentance, we will legally strive for leniency for you.”

”But if you obstinately resist...” He paused slightly, his eyes sweeping like a blade over Guo Yong’s anxious face, ”The law will definitely mete out severe punishment.”

Hearing this, Guo Yong’s Adam’s apple moved vigorously, ”Officer, I am really innocent!”

”You dragged me out of my home in the middle of the night, you must at least tell me what it is all about, right?”

”I am feeling so uneasy...”

Mr. Qin slightly leaned forward, speaking one word at a time, ”Because you are suspected of intentional homicide.”
