The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 606: Chapter 339: There’s Really Something Wrong With This Case!!

Upon hearing this, Zhang Yean and Wan simultaneously stopped what they were doing, focusing all their attention on Jiang An.

”What exactly is the reason? Hurry up and tell us.”

Wan, too, had an anxious expression, unconsciously leaning forward, ”Exactly! I’m so frustrated with the suspense.”

”Senior brother, senior sister, the presence of so many blood clots indicates that the deceased had a strong coagulation reaction.”

Jiang An’s voice was low and steady, ”This is a significant sign of a large area back injury.”

Immediately after, he carefully closed the back skin of the deceased, handling it as gently as if it were a precious work of art.

A clear T-shaped wound appeared on the back skin, with edges so neat they were startling.

Jiang An gently manipulated the edges with tweezers, ”There are no scratches or abrasions on the skin edges.”

After a short pause, Jiang An slowly said, ”I think the presence of blood clots under the back skin is best explained by saying the fall was from a height onto the water’s surface, with the back slamming against it.”

Upon hearing this, Wan and Zhang Yean were taken aback, exchanging glances in disbelief.

Zhang Yean frowned, contemplating for a while, ”You mean the deceased hit the water in a parallel position?”

Jiang An nodded lightly.

”It should be a parallel object directly hitting the water.”

He gestured a flat falling trajectory in the air with his fingers.

At that moment, Wan was also pondering the entire process, ”The key is, using such a method to dispose of the body, can one person accomplish this?”

Jiang An continued, ”So, I believe there might not be just one suspect; there could be two or more killers.”

Both Zhang Yean and Wan stood there dumbfounded at this conclusion.

Could this really be a murder case?

Even though Jiang An’s reasoning made sense, the two were still struggling to accept it.

Bear in mind, this case had undergone much scrutiny with experts repeatedly examining it, and elite forces were organized to reevaluate it several times.

But never once had any objections been raised.

Despite Jiang An’s differing viewpoint, which attracted the attention of Mr. Ma and Mr. Li, it was only a matter of possibility.

To truly overturn the case’s nature, it would require solid and convincing evidence.

If this conclusion were to be overthrown, it would mean parting ways with the perspectives of all the predecessors.

Silence spread among the three, finally broken by Wan clearing his throat.

”Mr. Jiang, this case is no small matter.”

”Should we report it to Mr. Ma and Mr. Li?”

Jiang An nodded, ”Reporting is definitely necessary.”

”All work has been done under the leadership of Mr. Ma.”

Then, Jiang An glanced at the deceased’s back, ”Today’s discovery is the most vital clue, a strong support to earlier views.”

”Now, I am more certain of my ideas.”

Zhang Yean and Wan, witnessing Jiang An’s confidence, deliberated intensely in their hearts.

If the nature of this case were to be overturned, what kind of stir would it cause later?

How to handle those already closed case files?

How would the media report it?

Questions flashed through their minds like a revolving lantern.

If this case really had its conclusion overturned, many people would surely have a sleepless night.

From grassroots officers to top leaders, the entire police department might have to endure a sleepless night.

At 1:50 PM, Zhang Yean and Wan arrived on time at Jiang An’s office.

The office was quiet, with only the rustling sound of papers being turned.

Apparently, Jiang An hadn’t rested all noon, constantly reviewing the case file.

Although the case file was not thick, it was worn on the edges from constant use, with colorful sticky notes covering some key pages, filled with dense annotations.

Jiang An knew that to change the conclusion of this established case, he had to find an irrefutable chain of evidence.

Despite the department setting up a special group for this, Mr. Ma’s stance was clear: the investigation was reopened to fill gaps, not to completely overturn the existing conclusion.

”Senior brother, senior sister, you’re here!”

Hearing footsteps, Jiang An looked up, rubbing his sore eyes.

His face showed the fatigue of concentrated work, but his eyes remained bright and spirited.

Wan stretched and yawned widely, ”The bonus for solving the last case just got issued, and I haven’t even managed to shop before there’s a new case.”

Hearing this, Zhang Yean turned her head with an intriguing smile, ”Brother, you got it wrong.”

”If this case can really be reopened, maybe you’ll even earn a third-class merit.”

”Wouldn’t it be more satisfying to shop with bonuses and a medal?”

”Haha, that’s right!”

Wan suddenly got his spirits up, his eyes lighting up.

”Following Mr. Jiang, I believe we’ll soon be showered with commendations and bonuses.”

Jiang An smiled wryly and shook his head, ”Brother, sister, don’t be too optimistic.”

”It’s too early to talk about this now.”

He picked up the case file on the table and patted it lightly, ”Although Mr. Ma has approved the reopening of the investigation, he hasn’t accepted our preliminary judgment of this case.”

”Whether the final conclusion will be accepted is still unknown.”

”Oh, why worry so much!”

Wan gestured boldly, ”Come on, let’s visit Mr. Ma together.”

At 2:15 PM, the three of them arrived in front of Mr. Ma’s office.
