The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Analysis from Jiang An

After hanging up the phone, Li Jian said, ”Mr. Ma is very concerned about this case and wants us to quickly identify the site of the first death.”

”Share your own thoughts?”

While driving, Wan, holding the steering wheel, said, ”Mr. Li, we now know that Zhang Rui used to work in a special trade at a salon, and neither of the two deceased were wearing clothes.”

”Do you think it’s possible that she was taking up this trade again with her cousin and ended up a victim over a pricing dispute?”

”Previously, I’ve seen crime films from Japan and Korea with similar scenes,”

”Often, two-person services charged as a one-person price can easily lead to murder incidents.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Yean said, ”Senior, your associative skills are impressive, have you watched too many of those films?”

”Art comes from life; films are a form of art.”

”So I think we should investigate all major hotels and motels in the city to see if there’s any record of these two women checking in.”

Li Jian nodded and said, ”We cannot rule out this possibility.”

”Zhang Yean, what’s your opinion?”

Zhang Yean shifted her position slightly and responded, ”Mr. Li, my view differs from Wan’s.”

”I believe the killer chose to dispose of and bury the bodies in Houshan deliberately, not randomly.”

”This hillside is very secluded; not only would outsiders not know about it, even people from Jiangcheng may not be aware of it.”

”I suspect the crime scene is likely in Houshan Town, and the killer might be local, disposing and burying the bodies nearby after committing the crime.”

”We just found out that after Zhang Rui divorced, she met a new partner through Qin Xiao; that partner should be our key focus in the investigation.”

As soon as she finished, Li Jian turned around to look at her.

Zhang Yean felt a bit embarrassed and asked, ”Mr. Li, did I say something wrong?”

”No!”

Li Jian softly said, ”I think you did well, didn’t expect you’ve improved so much.”

Zhang Yean smiled and glanced at Jiang An.

”Mainly because I’ve been working on cases with Mr. Li, Jiang An, and Wan recently.”

”I’ve picked up a bit of the basics through observation and experience.”

Li Jian said, ”You’re being humble!”

Zhang Yean smiled and said, ”Jiang An is the master at solving cases.”

Li Jian turned around and said, ”Now, let’s invite our case-solving expert to speak a few words.”

Jiang An smiled and said, ”You’ve all praised me so much, I’m suddenly feeling very overwhelmed.”

Then, Jiang An shifted the topic and said, ”I have three insights concerning the first death site.”

”First, the death scene should be indoors.”

”From our examination of the White Bone in the mountain, no clothing fragments were found, confirming that the two deceased were not wearing clothes.”

”For adults to be murdered without clothes, I believe the first death site should be indoors, with a relatively concealed environment for the killing.”

”Second, the death scene should be relatively safe, without interference.”

”During the examination of the bones, we can see that this dismemberment case doesn’t show typical dismemberment features, which fully indicates that when the killer planned the murder, they did not intend to dismember.”

”The killer only cut off the lower limbs of the two deceased.”

”The main reason being, on the White Bone, we see decomposition of black garbage bags, which makes me speculate that the killer, while transporting the bodies, couldn’t bend the stiffened lower limbs of the deceased due to rigor mortis.”

”In this situation, the killer was forced to temporarily cut and separate the lower limbs.”

”Based on the development process of rigor mortis after death, it reaches its peak 15-24 hours post-mortem.”

”Therefore, I believe from their murder to being packed into black garbage bags, at least 15 hours had passed.”

”From the crime environment perspective, the place where the killer executed the murder must have been very safe, without any disturbance.”

”I suspect a residential building is most likely.”

”I even suspect that Qin Xiao’s new residence might be the first crime scene.”

”Third, regarding why the two deceased were disposed of in the mountain, I speculate the killer should be familiar with the hillside.”

”There are many factories around Houshan, and it’s possible the killer once worked here.”

”Additionally, they may even be a local from Houshan Town.”

As soon as Jiang An finished, Zhang Yean gave a thumbs up and said, ”Mr. Li, when you see that Jiang An is a genius in solving crimes, am I right?”

Wan also said, ”I’ve learned today how to determine the first death site.”

Li Jian said with a smile, ”Well said, reasonable and evidence-based, I completely agree.”

”I also think Qin Xiao’s newly rented apartment is probably the first death site.”

”After we return, we will focus all efforts on locating Qin Xiao’s new residence.”

Then Li Jian raised his wrist and glanced at his watch.

”Time flies, it’s almost 1 PM, let’s find somewhere to fill our stomachs first.”

Wan said, ”Mr. Li, how about there’s a Sichuan restaurant right ahead?”

”Sure, let’s sample some Sichuan flavors for lunch today.”

At 3 PM, the detectives’ meeting room was full of people.

Li Jian said, ”Everyone, quiet down, the meeting has started.”

”You should all know about the two sets of White Bone found in Houshan Town.”

”This case is influential and egregious, causing significant pain to two ordinary families.”

”Mr. Ma is extremely concerned about this case and demands it be solved quickly and the killer captured.”

”Currently, we’ve basically identified the two deceased as Qin Xiao and Zhang Rui.”

”After analysis, the first scene of their deaths is likely in their rented apartment.”

”So, next, all the detectives will be split into 25 groups, with 2 people each, responsible for different area investigations and visits, to locate their rented apartment in Jiangcheng and pinpoint the initial crime scene.”

”Yes!”

After the meeting ended, everyone swiftly went into action.

detective groups made their way through Jiangcheng’s streets and alleys, investigating all rental agencies.

At 9:15 PM.

Chen He said through the walkie-talkie, ”Mr. Li, I found Qin Xiao’s rental information at Kaimen Hong Real Estate Company.”

”Where is the rental location?”

”Jiangnan Lakefront Phase 1, Unit 2, 6th Floor, Apartment 1.”

Immediately, Li Jian said urgently, ”Mr. Chen, Jiang An, Wan, you three units should go to Jiangnan Lakefront immediately, we’ll meet there.”

”The other detective groups should return to the station and stand by.”

Twenty minutes later, Li Jian, Mr. Chen, and a group of 8 arrived at the door of Apartment 1, 6th Floor, Unit 2, Phase 1 of Jiangnan Lakefront.

Li Jian and Chen He, with grave expressions, holding guns, stood on either side of the security door.
