The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: That Man Is Very Suspicious

Following the direction of the white beam, Zhang Yean saw two pairs of women’s slippers on the floor by the bed.

After thinking for a moment, she guessed, ”Could it be that the two pairs of slippers are being swapped around?”

Jiang An didn’t speak, instead, he turned and walked toward the secondary bedroom, but found no slippers on the floor.

Next, he went to the shoe cabinet at the entrance, and again saw no other women’s slippers.

After three minutes, Jiang An returned.

”This house seems to have just been moved into, there are only two pairs of women’s slippers inside.”

Jiang An walked over, crouched down, and observed carefully.

”The sizes of these two pairs of slippers are different, but very close.”

Zhang Yean crouched down and photographed the soles of the two pairs of shoes.

”Is it possible that before the death, the two women were sitting on the bed chatting? I used to love sitting on the bed chatting and snacking with my cousin.”

Jiang An stood up and casually said a sentence.

”We can’t rule out the situation you’re talking about yet.”

He moved the beam in his hand, noticing the clothes placed on the bedside table.

”But, as it stands now, that possibility seems very slim.”

Why did he change his mind when he had been agreeing with himself just a second ago?

”Is there any other possibility?”

Jiang An walked straight to the bedside table, his gaze fixed on the two sets of lingerie.

Meanwhile.

Li Jian and Wan arrived at the apartment next to the crime scene.

”Sir, we are detectives from the police department!”

”What did you say? I can’t hear you.”

Wan raised his voice, saying, ”I said we are detectives from the police department.”

”I still can’t hear, my hearing is quite poor.”

Li Jian then took out his ID and handed it to the elderly man opposite.

The frail, skinny man took the ID, put on his reading glasses to look at it.

”Oh, so you’re police officers!”

”What are you investigating?”

After saying that, the elderly man tilted his head, waiting for an answer.

Li Jian and Wan exchanged a glance.

”Boss, in this situation, should we consider investigating another household?”

”This residence is only separated by one wall, and it’s very close to the neighboring living room.”

Wan spread his hands helplessly.

”But this elderly man is very hard of hearing, it was difficult to communicate loudly just now.”

”Even if there were noises next door, could he hear them?”

Li Jian looked around and realized that the elderly man lived alone.

”Let’s give it a try!”

”We can write down what we need to ask on paper, so he can look at it and then answer.”

Wan shook his head helplessly, ”Boss, I’ll follow your lead.”

He took out a piece of white paper and a pen from his briefcase, writing on the white paper: ”Do you know the neighbors next door?”

The elderly man leaned in to take a look at the question and answered, ”Yes, we’ve been neighbors for about ten years.”

”However, they moved to a new house last September.”

Wan wrote again on the white paper: ”Are you familiar with the new neighbors who moved in afterward?”

The elderly man shook his head. ”Not familiar.”

”I ran into them a few times in the elevator; they are two young girls.”

Li Jian took the white paper and wrote: ”Have you seen anyone else visit the two girls next door?”

”Anyone else?”

The elderly man thought for a while, ”In October last year, twice when I went out, I noticed a man visiting their home, ”

Hearing this, Li Jian immediately became alert.

He quickly wrote on the white paper: ”Do you remember what that man looked like?”

The elderly man glanced at the question, recalling a bit, he said, ”I can’t recall clearly, we just passed by each other.”

”But from the way they spoke, he should be a local.”

Then, the elderly man said, ”I haven’t encountered them for a long time now.”

Finally, Li Jian wrote one last question on the white paper: ”Did you hear any noises from the room next door in October last year?”

The elderly man chuckled, saying, ”I don’t remember that! Both my ears are a bit deaf, I can’t hear sounds that are too soft.”

Li Jian took the white paper and wrote on it: ”Sir, thank you for your cooperation!”

As Li Jian and Wan turned to leave, the elderly man suddenly said, ”Last year in October, one evening, when I came back late from drinking with some friends, while waiting for the elevator on the first floor, I saw a man coming out of the stairwell carrying a black garbage bag, it seemed very heavy.”

”I found it a bit odd at the time, so I turned my head to look, the man was quite burly and wore a baseball cap.”

Upon hearing this, an analysis by Jiang An at the White Bone site on the back mountains flashed through Li Jian’s mind, the victim was transported in a black garbage bag.

Li Jian then took the white paper and wrote: Sir, can you remember that man’s appearance?

The elderly man shook his head, saying, ”I drank quite a bit of spirits, my head was spinning, so I didn’t see his face clearly.”

Then, Li Jian wrote another question on the white paper.

”Could you recall what day that was?”

The elderly man looked at the paper, thought for a while.

He clapped his hands, ”I remember now, that night was October 20th.”

”Because the next day is the death anniversary of my wife, which is every year on October 21st.”

Li Jian nodded, clasped his hands together to express gratitude.

Upon stepping out of the house, Wan immediately said, ”Boss, why do I have a feeling the man he saw is the murderer?”

Li Jian pondered for a while, ”That possibility is very high.”

”There are cameras in the elevator, going down via the stairs is relatively discreet.”

Wan cracked a grin, saying, ”Carrying something so heavy, walking down the stairs isn’t easy.”

Suddenly, a thought popped into Li Jian’s mind.

”Wan, don’t you think this building is quite far from the exit?”

”If what that old man said is true, then the murderer would carry the black garbage bag out of the community so brazenly?”

Wan said instantly, ”Exactly! That clearly doesn’t make sense!”

”Even if it’s late at night to throw out trash, generally people would just throw garbage to the trash collection point at the building entrance, not walk it directly out of the community.”

”Going out with a black garbage bag like that would make him more likely to be spotted, wouldn’t it?”

Li Jian furrowed his brows, ”Actually, I tend to think the criminal must have had a good cover, maybe even a means of transportation.”

”Boss, when we first entered the community, I saw the sign at the entrance: only bicycles are allowed, cars, e-bikes, and motorcycles can’t enter the community.”

Meanwhile.

In the master bedroom, Jiang An organized the two sets of lingerie from the bedside table and placed them on the bed.

One was red, the other was black.

After photographing and recording, Zhang Yean said, ”Could it be the clothes of just one person? Just different colors.”

Jiang An shook his head, his face serious.

”I think that’s very unlikely because the sizes of the lingerie are quite different, especially the bra sizes for women.”

”If these are indeed clothes belonging to two women, then it becomes even stranger!”
