The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Where Is the Primary Scene of Death?

Five minutes later, the group arrived at the man’s house.

It was a prefab house with three rooms, with a yard in front.

”Please have a seat, officers.”

The man said, ”Mingming, go play in the yard first.”

Jiang An asked, ”Do you have any family photos in your home?”

”Yes! Just a moment.”

Then, the man went into the inner room and brought out a wedding photo.

Jiang An took it, glanced at it, and confirmed it was Zhang Rui.

He then passed the photo to Li Jian.

Li Jian glanced at it and nodded, saying, ”Please tell us about Zhang Rui.”

After a moment of silence, the man responded, ”Her family lives in the neighboring village. We were elementary school classmates, started dating five years ago, and got married after more than two years of dating.”

Li Jian asked, ”This child is also around three years old, right?”

The man nodded and replied, ”We got married less than two months before she gave birth to Mingming. In fact, it was a shotgun wedding.”

”After marriage, our family was very happy. I have carpentry skills and often make tables and stools for others, earning a decent income.”

”However, less than half a year after Mingming was born, I had a motorcycle accident on a rainy day.”

”I fell heavily, had an intracranial hemorrhage, and was taken to the hospital by someone from the same village who saw me.”

”The hemorrhage was severe. The local hospital didn’t dare to treat me, so I was sent to the provincial hospital.”

”I survived but suffered hemiplegia on the right side and incurred a huge debt, totaling over 300,000.”

The man sighed and shook his head as he spoke.

”With so much debt and me being hemiplegic after treatment, Zhang Rui had to go out to work to support the family.”

Li Jian asked, ”Regarding your divorce, what happened?”

”Last October, she returned from working outside and proposed the idea of divorce.”

”At the time, I disagreed!”

”Mainly because Mingming was too young; I didn’t want him to become an orphan shortly after being born.”

”However, she kept insisting on divorce. Considering I’m a disabled person, I didn’t want to burden others, so I eventually agreed.”

After a moment of silence, the man said, ”Actually, I could see back then that she cared about the child.”

”Maybe someone was advising her to divorce.”

The man said with a bitter smile, ”That’s quite normal, considering I’m disabled and the family burden is so heavy.”

Li Jian hastily asked, ”You mentioned someone advising her to divorce. Who is this person?”

”Her cousin Qin Xiao.”

”Can you elaborate?”

The man answered, ”During our divorce turmoil, her cousin Qin Xiao urged her multiple times through phone calls, and Zhang Rui told me that Qin Xiao introduced her to a new partner.”

”Do you know this new partner?”

The man shook his head, ”I don’t.”

”However, Zhang Rui was pretty good to both our son and me.”

”On the day of divorce, she even gave me 100,000 yuan as compensation for the child.”

”100,000 yuan?”

Upon hearing this figure, the four of them fell into thought.

They should know their own monthly salary is only 5,000 yuan.

This 100,000 yuan is no small amount.

Li Jian then asked, ”Was her income usually substantial?”

The man replied, ”After my accident, she went out to work at an electronics factory and would send four to five thousand yuan to the family every month.”

”It’s likely this 100,000 yuan was from her savings.”

Li Jian did not express any opinion but nodded and asked, ”Did Zhang Rui have any personal vendetta against anyone?”

The man shook his head.

”That she didn’t.”

At that moment.

Jiang An looked around and saw some carpentry tools in the corner of the furniture.

Among them, a small electric saw caught his attention.

During the investigation in Phoenix Dance Village, Qin Xiao’s stepfather mentioned that this man was a carpenter.

Jiang An had suspected if he was the perpetrator.

Based on the cutting marks on the White Bone, Jiang An deduced that the victim’s limbs should have been cut with an electric saw.

However, seeing his current situation, Jiang An completely dismissed that idea.

His own life is already so challenging, let alone killing two women and disposing of their bodies at a distance.

Clearly, he does not have the capability to commit the crime.

Suddenly, Li Jian turned and asked, ”Do any of you three have anything else to ask?”

Zhang Yean and Wan shook their heads.

Jiang An pointed at the electric saw in the corner and asked, ”Is that your old carpentry tool?”

The man nodded.

”It hasn’t been used for over three years.”

Then Jiang An walked over, picked up the saw, and examined it.

”For being unused for three years, the blade looks quite new, not rusted.”

The man said, ”The blade of this type of electric saw is stainless steel, as long as it doesn’t get wet, it won’t rust.”

Jiang An turned and curiously asked, ”Apart from cutting wood, what else can this small electric saw do?”

The man replied, ”It can also cut stone and steel, but the blade material has to be much better.”

Jiang An nodded and returned the electric saw.

Then he said, ”Mr. Li, I have nothing else to ask.”

”However, we might need to collect some blood from the father and son for the deceased’s identity confirmation.”

Li Jian nodded and said, ”The female corpse we discovered is suspected to be Zhang Rui, and we need to collect both your blood samples for genetic comparison.”

The man said, ”No problem! Go ahead!”

Soon, Jiang An and Zhang Yean teamed up to take out the blood collection tools and collected blood samples from the father and son.

As they were leaving, the man suddenly asked, ”If it’s confirmed that she is Zhang Rui, please let us know so that we can let her rest in peace sooner.”

The four simultaneously turned back and saw the man leaning on a crutch, holding the child, and standing at the door with his son.

Li Jian felt a slight ache in his nose, then said, ”Rest assured, we will inform you of the result promptly!”

”Regarding Zhang Rui’s death, we will definitely get to the bottom of it and give her justice.”

Inside the police car, none of the four spoke, and the atmosphere was somber.

Twenty minutes later, Li Jian’s phone rang.

He took out his phone and swiped the screen.

”Mr. Ma!”

”Mr. Li, how’s the investigation on the White Bone case going?”

Li Jian replied, ”Currently, we have basically identified the two deceased, and next, we will immediately proceed with the genetic testing in the lab.”

”They are cousins, Qin Xiao is unmarried, and Zhang Rui divorced last October and has one child.”

”Based on the clues we have, Zhang Rui had a new romantic partner post-divorce, and we need to actively find this man to see if he’s linked to the case.”

”Furthermore, Qin Xiao changed residences last October, and we need to investigate her latest residence.”

Mr. Ma listened and asked, ”Have you found the primary location of their deaths?”

Li Jian replied, ”We haven’t found it yet.”

Mr. Ma advised, ”For cases involving body disposal, determining the primary death site is crucial, and it must be clarified as soon as possible.”

”Understood, Mr. Ma!”
