The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Beginning the Arrest

Jiang An answered on the phone, ”Another man Qin Xiao met when she was hospitalized for a fracture.”

Immediately, Li Jian took his phone and stood up, walking outside the Platinum Han KTV.

He looked around; there was no one around.

”Weren’t you two sorting through evidence in the lab at first?”

”How did you suddenly determine this person is highly suspicious?”

Jiang An replied, ”Mr. Li, this morning, while my senior sister and I were sorting through evidence, we found another elderly person’s discharge certificate in Qin Xiao’s hospitalization records for her fracture.”

”At that time, we were very puzzled and immediately went to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to investigate the nurses and doctors.”

”Qin Xiao was hospitalized for a fracture and had no one accompanying her or hired any caregiver.”

”Moreover, the son of another patient in the same ward once helped the nurse in charge with a waterproofing issue of the room.”

”Therefore, the nurse has a strong impression of these two patients.”

”According to the nurse’s feedback, last October, she sought help from this man, Wang Dayong, due to a waterproofing issue in her bathroom during renovations.”

”While dealing with the waterproofing, the nurse asked if he had a partner?”

”Wang Dayong replied that Qin Xiao from the same ward introduced him to her cousin.”

Upon hearing this, Li Jian froze on the spot, his mind racing.

Two minutes later.

He analyzed and said, ”At that time, I remember mentioning Zhang Rui’s ex-husband during the investigation, she indeed had a new partner.”

After a slight pause, Li Jian asked, ”But, would a simple introduction between a man and a woman serve as a motive for murder?”

”Moreover, the murderer killed two people at once, which is a very serious case.”

Jiang An said, ”In this case, you can see ’cheater’ written all over Qin Xiao’s face, which fully indicates the murderer was deceived of something very important.”

”Last night, we found 20,000 cash at Qin Xiao’s place.”

”Moreover, at Zhang Rui’s old home, her ex-husband also said, ’On the day of the divorce, Zhang Rui gave him 100,000 as divorce compensation.’

”For an ordinary worker, this is no small amount.”

Then, Jiang An said, ”Considering the current lifestyle habits, we seldom use cash anymore.”

”I suspect these two large sums of money are very likely used as a bride price for both parties.”

Upon hearing this, Li Jian suddenly had a moment of clarity.

”You mean, the killer uncovered the lies of the two deceased cheating in love and money?”

”Mr. Li, indeed there have been cases of marriage scams in recent years.”

”However, I think in this case, merely a marriage scam wouldn’t provoke such a strong motive for murder in the killer!”

”What do you mean?”

”Mr. Li, before leaving Houshan Town, Zhang Rui was engaged in a very peculiar job.”

”According to the nurse’s description, Wang Dayong is honest, filial to his parents, and a very traditional, conservative man.”

”If he knew the person introduced was not only married and had children.”

”But also engaged in such a peculiar profession, wouldn’t that be an extremely strong motive for murder?”

Upon hearing this, Li Jian instantly understood everything.

He said, ”This all links together and makes perfect sense.”

”So, this Wang Dayong indeed has substantial suspicion of committing the crime.”

”Mr. Li, he not only has the motive but also the tools to commit the crime.”

”Actually, I mentioned earlier that the murderer initially didn’t plan to dismember and dispose of the bodies.”

”Because the bodies were stiff, the murderer then thought of dismembering them.”

”Such a spur-of-the-moment decision must be due to the presence of a chainsaw.”

”And a renovation worker just happens to have such convenient tools.”

At that moment, Li Jian said, ”Great analysis!”

”Wang Dayong is highly suspected of committing the crime; immediately arrest Wang Dayong.”

After hanging up the call, Jiang An and Zhang Yean returned to the Jiangcheng City Bureau.

The two of them went directly to the toxicology analysis lab.

”Mr. Li, may I ask if there’s a result on the poison test of the porridge in the pressure cooker?”

A middle-aged man wearing glasses looked down at the chart.

He said, ”Just in time! The result just came out.”

”Indeed, there is a high concentration of sleeping pills in the porridge.”

Jiang An nodded and said, ”Thank you, Mr. Li.”

As Jiang An and Zhang Yean turned around, the middle-aged man suddenly said, ”Sleeping pills are very special; they are generally not available over the counter and require a prescription.”

”You can follow this lead to investigate who the real culprit is?”

Zhang Yean smiled and said, ”Mr. Li, no need, I guess we’re about to solve this case very soon.”

”So soon?”

The middle-aged man looked incredulous.

”This morning, Mr. Li asked me to get the toxicology data as soon as possible.”

”In less than two hours, this case has been solved?”

Jiang An said, ”Mr. Li, currently we have a major suspect.”

”Whether he committed the crime or not requires further interrogation.”

The middle-aged man shook his head.

Having worked in the criminal investigation team for 15 years, cases involving dual fatalities usually take at least a week to solve.

At this moment.

Li Jian and Wan were driving on the ring highway around the city.

Li Jian dialed Chen He’s phone.

”Mr. Chen, are you still in Houshan Town?”

”I’m still investigating, but the hair salon staff is complex, with no valuable clues.”

”No need to investigate anymore! We’re meeting at the entrance of Sanhe Village immediately.”

”Meet at Sanhe Village? What do you mean?”

Li Jian said, ”The suspect has been identified as Wang Dayong from Sanhe Village.”

”You identified the suspect so quickly?”

Li Jian replied, ”Jiang An, through his investigation of the nurse involved in Qin Xiao’s fracture, deduced that Wang Dayong was highly suspicious of committing the crime.”

”We’re heading out immediately to meet there and bring him in for interrogation.”

Suddenly, Chen He felt his head buzzing.

He wanted to ask more questions.

However, Li Jian had already hung up the phone.

An hour later, Li Jian and Chen He met at the entrance of Sanhe Village.

As soon as the two police cars came to a halt, a black commercial vehicle arrived, and Zhang Chao stepped out from the passenger seat.

”Mr. Zhang, it’s kind of you to drive a commercial vehicle to assist us; the police cars are indeed too conspicuous.”

Zhang Chao grinned, ”Mr. Li, no need to be polite.”

”If there’s a need, we are always ready to support you.”

Then, he asked, ”Today, this person you’re arresting, what crime did they commit?”

Li Jian turned and said, ”It is highly likely he is the suspect in the recent White Bone case in Houshan.”

”White Bone case?”

”You identified the suspect so quickly?”

Zhang Chao looked incredulous.

Li Jian raised his hand and patted his shoulder, ”At present, we only suspect Wang Dayong from Sanhe Village of major suspicion.”

”Whether he is the murderer or not will only be known after interrogation.”

”However, I think there’s a very high chance that he is the killer.”
