The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Breaking Through the Psychological Defense

When he received the call, Li Jian was momentarily stunned in place.

Just now, he was overwhelmed and racking his brain, discussing with Chen He where to find objective evidence.

Unexpectedly!

The good news came so quickly.

Li Jian hurriedly asked, ”Where did you find it?”

Jiang An answered, ”I found an electric saw in Wang Dayong’s old family courtyard under the rain shelter, which matches the characteristics of the murder weapon.”

”It’s been so long since then....”

Li Jian was somewhat skeptical inwardly.

Jiang An answered, ”From the exterior, there’s nothing special, just a small amount of rust on the saw blade.”

”However, when I opened the plastic casing of the electric saw, I found a large amount of old blood inside.”

”Old blood?”

Jiang An continued, ”At that time, I analyzed that the carotid artery of the deceased was cut, and the heart should have still been beating.”

”When the neck vessels rupture, spraying out a large amount of blood, it could easily enter the interior through the gaps in the electric saw casing, leaving behind old blood.”

Hearing Jiang An’s description, Li Jian was completely convinced.

In daily life, the casing of an electric saw might get bloodstains, but it’s unlikely for blood to form inside.

Immediately after, Captain Li Jian said, ”We’re waiting for you to come back.”

After hanging up the phone, the tense skin on Li Jian’s face instantly relaxed considerably.

Chen He was also full of anticipation.

He asked, ”Did Jiang An bring back any good news from over there?”

Li Jian nodded, his mouth curling up slightly.

”He found the murder weapon used by the perpetrator.”

”Jiang An always manages to bring a bright surprise when we’re stuck in a maze of mountains and rivers.”

”Mr. Li, if he can find the murder weapon, it will greatly enhance the next step of interrogation.”

Li Jian pondered for a moment and said, ”After they return, the first step is to test the bloodstains to see if the genetic profiles completely match those of the two deceased.”

”If they completely match, even if Wang Dayong says nothing.”

”We are confident that we can bring him to court to face justice.”

Returning from Sanhe Village, Jiang An was eager and raced back swiftly.

Such a crucial piece of evidence would bring a qualitative change to the investigation of the entire case.

A journey that originally took an hour and a half was completed in just 1 hour.

When the car was not yet at the entrance of the criminal investigation team, they could see Li Jian and Chen He waiting at the door from a distance.

As soon as Jiang An and Zhang Yean got out of the car, Li Jian greeted them with a smile.

”Thank you for your hard work.”

”This time, you two have once again taken the lead.”

Zhang Yean smiled and said, ”Mr. Li, I truly feel undeserving.”

”In the whole process, I just accompanied Jiang An.”

”This important murder weapon was mainly discovered and identified by Jiang An.”

Jiang An smiled.

”Senior sister, we are a team, a group.”

”At the time, if it weren’t for your quick thinking and excuse to get the elderly person to leave, I wouldn’t have had the chance to find the murder weapon.”

Hearing this, Zhang Yean’s lips curled into a slight smile, and her eyes showed a little sense of achievement.

Captain Li Jian looked at the two of them.

”The two of you just stop being modest to each other.”

”In any case, if this case is solved because of this murder weapon, you two will be the main contributors.”

Next, Jiang An opened the trunk and took out the disassembled electric saw.

Li Jian and Chen He quickly came over to take a closer look.

Indeed.

On the part encased by the plastic casing of the electric saw, some mottled bloodstains could be seen.

Due to time, they appeared dark brown now.

Jiang An pointed, ”Actually, I didn’t open the casing initially.”

”I just found some rust at the central axis of the saw blade.”

”This kind of electric saw blade generally doesn’t rust unless it comes into contact with liquid.”

”Hence it caught my attention.”

”I believe after the murderer disposed of the body, they wiped and cleaned the surface of the electric saw.”

”Therefore, we cannot see any bloodstains on the surface of the electric saw.”

”But it’s impossible to clean the inside of the plastic casing.”

”This precisely leaves us an important clue.”

Zhang Yean remarked.

”This time, we were very lucky indeed.”

”If the perpetrator had disposed of it back then, we would have been at a real loss today.”

Jiang An added, ”At Wang Dayong’s home, I saw five electric saws, and this saw was purchased the most recently and was an imported item.”

”So why didn’t the perpetrator discard the murder weapon?”

”It’s likely because the electric saw had a short usage time and was costly.”

Li Jian nodded.

”Perhaps it was destined to be this way.”

”Fairness and justice are guiding us step by step toward the clues.”

Subsequently, Jiang An and Zhang Yean sent the electric saw to the lab, immediately extracting and analyzing the internal bloodstains.

An hour later.

Zhang Yean, holding the analysis report, hurriedly came to the forensic office.

She said excitedly, ”Jiang An, just as you expected.”

”There’s mixed blood inside this electric saw.”

”Moreover, the genetic profiles of the mixed blood completely match those of Qin Xiao and Zhang Rui.”

At this moment, Captain Li Jian happened to be walking past the forensic office.

He faintly heard Jiang An and Zhang Yean’s conversation, and immediately stopped in his tracks.

Li Jian said with a smile, ”How come the results are out, and you don’t tell me?”

Zhang Yean quickly turned around and gave an awkward smile.

”Mr. Li, the report spectrum was just generated a minute ago.”

”I plan to review it with Jiang An to confirm the results before reporting to you.”

”I was just joking earlier; I know you’re all meticulous people working in forensic evidence analysis.”

”How is it? Did the comparison succeed?”

Zhang Yean handed over the analysis spectrum in her hand.

”Mr. Li, the blood typing inside the chainsaw matches that of the two deceased completely.”

Instantly, Captain Li Jian laughed heartily, then his gaze hardened.

”I refuse to believe that with such ironclad evidence, Wang Dayong would still stubbornly resist enforcement.”

”Even if he says nothing, I am confident I can convince the judge he’s the murderer.”

Five minutes later.

Li Jian and Chen He returned to the interrogation room once again.

Seeing them enter, Wang Dayong still wore a look of disdain.

He lifted his eyelids, glanced at them, then closed his eyes to rest again.

Chen He raised his hand and tapped on the table.

”Wake up, stop pretending to sleep.”

Wang Dayong slightly opened his eyes.

”If you don’t have evidence, then don’t waste your breath.”

”In 24 hours, I can leave unscathed.”

No sooner had he finished speaking, Li Jian said solemnly, ”What if we have evidence?”

Wang Dayong said, ”If you have evidence, I’ll keep appealing, because you’re wrongfully accusing me.”

Li Jian said, ”Big talk.”

”Many people think you’re honest and hardworking.”

”But, you showed your most cunning side to the police.”

After pausing for a moment, Li Jian said, ”What if I told you we found the tool used in the dismemberment back then?”

In an instant, Wang Dayong opened his eyes, staring at Li Jian.

As if waiting for Li Jian to provide more information.

They stared at each other for a while, then Li Jian said solemnly, ”You can clean the bloodstains on the chainsaw’s exterior, but the bloodstains inside remain.”

”You couldn’t bear to discard this chainsaw; it must be quite expensive.”

No sooner had he finished speaking, Wang Dayong’s eyes filled with fear, fixed intently on Li Jian.

”You should know what I’m talking about?”

”We opened the chainsaw’s shell and found a lot of old bloodstains inside.”

”These bloodstains belong to Qin Xiao and Zhang Rui.”

”Are you going to tell me someone secretly put this chainsaw in your courtyard?”

As Li Jian finished speaking, Wang Dayong went limp and collapsed into the chair.

The entire interrogation room instantly fell silent.

Seeing Wang Dayong’s state, Li Jian knew his psychological defenses had collapsed.

Ten minutes later, Wang Dayong heaved a long sigh.

”In the end, you found it.”

At that moment.

Jiang An and Zhang Yean stood outside the one-way glass of the interrogation room.

Hearing Wang Dayong’s words, they exchanged glances filled with joy.

Cracked it!

Completely cracked it!

Indeed, in the face of ironclad evidence, his psychological defenses completely crumbled.

Inside the interrogation room, Wang Dayong said, ”If I had destroyed this tool back then, you wouldn’t have any evidence.”

Li Jian looked serious, ”I’ve always believed in the old saying, ’The net of justice is wide, but nothing escapes.’

”Even if you destroyed this tool, we would still find other objective evidence.”

”Now, please recount the entire criminal act.”

After a long pause, Wang Dayong bowed his head and said, ”It’s all because I met a con artist.”

”Back then, I was kind enough to help her in the hospital.”

”I didn’t expect her to repay kindness with malice, bullying an honest person by introducing a very terrible woman to me.”

”Actually, when I first saw Zhang Rui, I really liked her.”

”She was beautiful, and her skin was quite fair.”

”However, this fondness only lasted for a week.”

”One day, we went out together to have fun, and because it was too late, we got a room near the scenic area to rest.”

”At that time, we couldn’t help but engage in intimate acts as a couple.”

”But afterwards, I inadvertently discovered many stretch marks on her abdomen.”

”Although I’ve never been married, I had browsed similar pictures on online forums, where women develop such marks on their skin after pregnancy and childbirth.”

”I was very shocked at the time, my head about to explode with anger.”

”Before introducing us, Qin Xiao told me her cousin had always been single and was quite naive.”

”Obviously, she was deceiving me!”

”After my persistent questioning, she admitted to having been divorced and having a child.”

After a brief pause, Wang Dayong continued, ”At the time, she pleaded for my forgiveness, saying she genuinely liked me.”

”At the time, I softened my heart and temporarily forgave her.”

”However, one day later, when I went to the development zone in Houshan Town to do renovations for a residence, I inadvertently saw a picture on the sign of Youyuan Hair Salon that looked a lot like Zhang Rui.”

”I glanced at the hair salon, and it was clearly not legitimate.”

”At that time, I didn’t pay much attention, just thought it was a resemblance.”

”However, that night, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and the more I thought about it, the more something felt off.”

”The next day, I still went to find Zhang Rui.”

”In the end, she told me she’d worked there as a shampoo girl.”

”At that moment, I was instantly dizzy and completely lost control.”

”Moreover, when I got to know her, I was thinking about marriage and gave her over a hundred thousand in dowry.”

Finally, Wang Dayong’s eyes widened, and he roared, ”What man can tolerate this?”

Instantly, the interrogation room fell silent once again.

After a moment, Captain Li Jian said, ”Talk about your method of crime?”
