Chapter 104: Chapter 104: The Most Meticulous Crime Scene Investigation

Li Jian nodded.

”Judging from how the bodies of the two victims were handled, the killer was more brutal with Qin Xiao’s body.”

”Especially the two words written on Qin Xiao’s face, which further illustrate the killer’s criminal psychology.”

Chen He said, ”Mr. Li, could the main purpose of the killer have been to murder Qin Xiao?”

”Was the other woman just coincidentally living together and killed at the same time?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Yean also said, ”My opinion is very similar to Mr. Chen’s.”

The other young officers also nodded in agreement.

However, Li Jian and Jiang An both fell into thought and did not express their views.

As the captain of the criminal investigation team, Li Jian’s views and opinions determine the next steps of the entire case and must be taken with extreme caution.

Jiang An looked at the head in his hand, filled with many questions.

If the killer’s target was specifically Qin Xiao, and Zhang Rui was just an unfortunate bystander,

then why were the rib fractures of both victims so similar?

Although the killers treated the bodies differently, there were some similarities in their differences.

After a long while, Li Jian said gravely, ”The Scene Investigation has just begun, and we still have a lot of evidence to find.”

”It’s too early to draw any conclusions now.”

”I think after completing the entire investigation, a more comprehensive analysis of the case will provide more support and clues.”

”Just now, Mr. Ma came over and said this case is not simple. While investigating the scene, everyone must be extremely thorough and not miss any clues.”

Immediately, everyone started to divide the work and take action.

Li Jian walked over, patted Jiang An on the shoulder, and said, ”You all start investigating here, I’ll go check with the nearby residents.”

”Okay!”

Jiang An nodded, ”Mr. Li, you go ahead, if there’s anything special, I will report back.”

Li Jian said solemnly, ”Let’s aim to reconstruct the entire death process tonight.”

Then, Li Jian turned and walked out.

Jiang An placed the head on the evidence bag.

He took out two tweezers from the forensic toolbox next to him and knelt beside Qin Xiao’s head.

Holding the tweezers in both hands, Jiang An pried open the deceased’s lips.

Upon careful observation, no damage was found on the oral mucosa.

Recalling the sedative residues found in the soil where the body was buried, Jiang An contemplated.

If the deceased were forced to take the drug, the struggle would surely leave marks on the oral mucosa.

This shows that the poisoning was not caused by force-feeding but was ingested voluntarily or without the victim’s knowledge.

At this time, Jiang An stood up and looked around the kitchen.

He saw a pressure cooker on the gas stove.

Immediately, he opened it, and a strong foul smell rushed out.

There was a small amount of porridge-like liquid inside the pressure cooker, but it had been left for too long, already rotten.

At this moment, Zhang Yean walked over and said, ”What’s that smell? So awful?”

”The smell of rotten meat porridge!”

Seeing Jiang An pick up a glass container, Zhang Yean asked, ”Do we need to collect this?”

Jiang An nodded, ”Collect some for toxicology testing.”

”I suspect the killer might have placed the drug here.”

After collecting the samples, Jiang An went to the living balcony outside the kitchen.

”Senior, have all items in their original state been photographed and recorded here?”

”Not yet!”

”Please wait, I’ll come and take photos soon.”

After waiting, Jiang An’s gaze swept over every corner of the balcony.

On the clothesline hung a row of clothes, including sweaters, shirts, jackets, and undergarments, all women’s clothing, with no men’s clothing in sight.

Suddenly, he noticed a roll of black plastic bags next to the washing machine on the balcony.

At this moment, Zhang Yean jogged over.

Immediately followed by a series of shutter sounds ”click, click, click” as she took distant photos.

”Senior, please focus on the black plastic bag beside the washing machine.”

”Black plastic bag?”

Zhang Yean walked over.

She lifted the camera, took a shot, and asked, ”Why pay attention to this? It’s just a trash bag.”

Jiang An responded: ”I suspect this plastic bag was used to transport the body.”

”This...”

Zhang Yean stood frozen, staring at the plastic bag.

Immediately, Jiang An stepped up, crouched down, and picked up the black plastic bag.

Instantly, his eyes caught red smear marks on the side of the white washing machine.

Turning his head, Jiang An said, ”Senior, it’s no longer a suspicion but confirmed.”

”What do you mean?”

”Because when the killer picked up this black plastic bag, the blood on their hands smeared onto the side of the washing machine.”

Then, Zhang Yean leaned in to observe.

”Indeed! It fits perfectly with bending over and reaching for the bag, transferring blood to the machine’s side.”

Jiang An unfolded one of the plastic bags on the ground and measured it with a tape measure.

”Indeed, as Wan said, this large plastic bag is 1.2 meters long.”

Zhang Yean said, ”So the killer really did use this black plastic bag to transport the body.”

Having completed the balcony examination, Jiang An and Zhang Yean moved to the master bedroom door.

”Senior, have the overall photos of the master bedroom been taken?”

Zhang Yean nodded, ”All taken already.”

”Only the detailed parts are yet to be captured.”

”No worries, we’ll do it together, focusing on the valuable clues.”

”Got it!”

For some reason, Zhang Yean felt a great sense of achievement investigating with Jiang An.

He could always spot details in a seemingly ordinary Crime Scene that others might miss.

Standing at the master bedroom entrance, Jiang An paused.

He picked up a flashlight, aiming it at the light switch on the left.

On the white switch, faint red traces were visible.

”Senior, please photograph this switch!”

”Switch? Is there a clue?”

”There’s a tiny blood trace remaining on this light switch.”

”I suspect the killer left it after turning off the bedroom light post-murder.”

Zhang Yean adjusted the camera focus for a long time before capturing it clearly.

”You have amazing eyes finding such minute blood traces.”

”Senior, can you see if fingerprints can be extracted from the switch?”

Zhang Yean examined it closely and said, ”Can’t tell with the naked eye, I will spray it with chemical reagent later.”

Then, Jiang An moved forward with the flashlight, the beam suddenly halting on the ground beside the bed.

”Senior, are there signs of normal use in the second bedroom next door?”

”Yes, there are blankets, pillows, and other items.”

Zhang Yean was puzzled, ”Why?”

Turning his head, Jiang An said: ”Why, then, are there two pairs of women’s slippers by this bed?”
