Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 588: Dao-Shattering Divine Shock

Grey remained completely focused. His only goal was to forge a technique centered entirely around the newly formed Divine Thunder Rune.

Inside his source, the rune shone brilliantly. It continuously released ancient divine thunder that filled his entire core with countless crackling lightning arcs, illuminating his inner world with a violet hue.

Grey attempted to perceive the rune with his consciousness.

The moment his mind connected with the glowing seed, his consciousness was forcefully pulled into a grand vision. He witnessed endless divine thunder tearing across a primordial expanse, easily capable of erasing entire worlds. Every single bolt contained incomprehensible destructive power, holding enough might to threaten even ninth or tenth rank existences.

As he silently observed the apocalyptic storm, Grey gradually realized the true mechanics behind how Divine Runes were created.

A Divine Rune was not simply condensed energy. It was born precisely when an evolver’s own personal source power perfectly fused with the corresponding Divine Law. When personal power and the Law became completely unified, they naturally coalesced into a Divine Rune.

This profound realization triggered a chain of notifications in his mind.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the primordial thunder, you have gained insight into the perfect fusion of personal power and Divine Law.]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By witnessing the core of a Divine Rune, you have gained comprehension into the creation of Divine Techniques.]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By resonating with the Divine Law of Thunder, you have gained profound insight into the concept of Divine Shock.]

Using everything he had just learned, Grey began constructing his new technique.

The technique was extremely simple in its internal structure, yet terrifying in its raw power because it was built entirely around the unyielding nature of Divine Thunder.

The technique provided a massive increase to his attack, speed, and defense. But its true terror lay in its offensive application. Every successful strike would silently leave behind a trace of Divine Thunder deep inside the opponent’s body. As the hidden stacks accumulated, the target would eventually be forced into the Divine Shock State.

Divine Shock would paralyze the target’s source and physical form while causing every subsequent attack from Grey to deal exponentially increasing damage.

The technique appeared deceptively simple. There were no flashy mechanics, complex hand seals, or convoluted energy pathways. Its overwhelming strength came solely from the supreme authority of the Divine Thunder itself.

While Grey was forging the technique in his mind, terrifying changes occurred in the outside world.

His physical body released increasingly violent waves of Divine Thunder. The surrounding space began violently cracking. Even the fabric of space-time started fracturing under the sheer pressure of the newly born Divine Technique.

He decided to name this technique Dao-Shattering Divine Shock.

Because this was precisely used for that purpose.

Kaelith, who had just successfully reached Major Succession in the Law of Life and Death, stepped back and witnessed the phenomenal sight. He stared up at Grey in complete disbelief.

”Did he actually succeed?” Kaelith muttered, his ancient eyes wide.

Little Hong silently watched from the sidelines. Even she was left entirely speechless by the terrifying pressure radiating from the sky.

Finally, Grey completely finished weaving the technique.

A final, earth-shattering explosion of Divine Thunder erupted across the surroundings, painting the entire secret realm a brilliant, blinding violet.

Then, everything instantly calmed down.

The thunder disappeared without a trace. The cracked space slowly stabilized, naturally healing its fractured edges.

Grey slowly descended from the sky as the surrounding space completely stabilized, naturally healing its fractured edges.

Kaelith was the first to approach him. He smiled with genuine admiration. ”Congratulations, Grey. To successfully create a Divine Technique of that caliber... it is truly a sight to behold.”

At the exact same time, the other Gods and Goddesses were also breaking through into Minor Succession one after another. This was all thanks to the massive increase in Law comprehension brought forth by Grey’s resonance.

As they stabilized their own breakthroughs, they quickly gathered around Grey.

”Thank you, Lord Grey,” one of the ancient gods said, bowing slightly. ”Without your guidance and resonance, we would have never comprehended our Laws to this depth.”

”We owe you a great debt,” another goddess added. ”You have opened a new path for all of us.”

Grey simply smiled. ”There is no need to thank me,” he replied. ”Everyone here is on the same side, and seeing all of you become stronger is something I am genuinely happy about.”

Lia quietly walked forward after everyone finished speaking. She looked at Grey with deep gratitude in her eyes and softly thanked him. ”Thank you, Grey... for everything you have done for my people.”

Grey smiled warmly. He gently reached out and caressed her cheek before speaking.

”What do you mean, your people?”

Lia blinked, looking up at him in slight confusion.

”They are our people,” Grey continued. ”Lia, you are my girlfriend. Taking care of them is something I should do. It is my responsibility as your boyfriend.”

Lia became visibly touched by his words. Her eyes shimmered with unshed emotion as she leaned into his gentle touch. She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his chest.

”I am so lucky to have you,” she whispered.

Grey wrapped his arms around her, holding her close in a quiet, tender embrace while the surrounding gods watched with knowing smiles.

After returning to the Nexus Domain, Grey casually opened his mind interface to check the world’s population.

He watched the holographic numbers floating in the air. The counter was steadily ticking upward, demonstrating that his planet was constantly growing, it won’t be long before it was filled to the brim.

Grey smiled with deep satisfaction before waving his hand and closing the interface.

Some time later, Valeria came looking for Grey in his private quarters.

She leaned against the doorframe, crossing her arms with a playful smirk. ”Look who finally decided to grace us with his presence. You always vanish into thin air right when we finally get used to having you around.”

Grey chuckled, leaning back in his chair. ”I was just doing some light training. Did you miss me that much, Valeria?”

”In your dreams,” Valeria teased, rolling her eyes, though she was obviously happy he was back. ”I just came here to make sure you do not disappear again. We need to keep a leash on you.”

”I am not going anywhere,” Grey replied, enjoying the relaxed banter.

Valeria’s expression turned slightly more mischievous. ”You better not. Your birthday is only three days away, you know.”

Grey raised an eyebrow. ”Is it?”

”Yes,” Valeria smiled, her eyes gleaming with a hidden secret. ”And everyone has been secretly preparing something special for you.”

”Oh? What kind of something?” Grey asked, a spark of curiosity igniting in his chest.

”Nice try,” Valeria winked. ”I am not telling you a single thing. You will just have to wait.”

”Not even a small hint?” Grey pressed.

”Nope. My lips are sealed,” Valeria laughed, turning around to leave the room. ”Just make sure you are actually here when the time comes!”

Grey could only smile and give up trying to find out.

Time quietly passed in the Nexus Domain.

Three days later.

Today was Grey’s birthday.
