Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 565: Using Ingel, the truce and the flabbergasted 8th rankers

What Grey said here was completely right. The Myriad-Race Alliance had never gone out of their way to initiate a war.

However, since the conflict started, there were surprisingly no casualties. The Origin Body evolvers were lenient enough to only knock out the evolvers of the seventh rank and below on the battlefield.

With him killing an ancestor, things might take a turn for the worse.

Grey himself realized this.

”But he is not really dead.” Grey smiled as he snapped his fingers.

”[Ingel].”1

As he spoke, a magical rune formed in the void, and the man who had died just seconds ago came back with a confused expression.

”What?!”

This time, everyone was flabbergasted without exception.

They felt extremely dumb, like frogs at the bottom of a well.

What sort of advanced sorcery could bring back an 8th ranker from the dead?!

They could not believe their eyes. If this was a seventh ranker that he brought back, they might not have batted an eye. But this was an eighth ranker. It was not just someone who had recently undergone metamorphosis, but someone who had already reached the fourth level!

”Fuck,” the Spirit Ancestor cursed, seeing this bizarre sight.

To him, who possessed dominion over the Law of Spirit, bizarre things like turning a world from 3D to 2D were a common occurrence.

But what the hell was this?

How could a sixth ranker bring back an eighth ranker?!

Where was the logic here? Could it be that Grey’s real power was illusion, and he was so good at it that he scammed everyone?

But even if he was good at illusions, he would still need eighth rank power to pull off such an impressive feat.

”This is not an illusion. Feshan, your origin body’s genetic charge is back,” one of Feshan’s friends said in complete speechlessness.

Everyone immediately stopped fighting to closely observe him, treating him as if he were a new specimen.

This included Feshan. He no longer looked angry; he was just utterly in shock by the sheer amount of power this young man had displayed.

He was like a walking cheat!

”Do not look at me like that,” Grey said with a sigh.

”What can I say? My mom always told me I was special. But she also told that to my grandpa sometimes,” he added.

Just then, the representative of the Myriad Gates, Luther, spoke up.

”Everyone. Our leader wants to meet with you all.”

”We are also offering a truce,” Luther said as he glanced at the thoroughly beaten up ancestors who were currently being monitored by the Nexus angels that had just finished defeating them.

It was clear. There was no victory here. It was either they sacrificed a lot, or these angels alone would cleanly wipe out the Myriad Gates domain.

Even with both sides combined, there were not one hundred ancestors present. Yet, this sixth rank kid who was less than twenty years old commanded one hundred of them, and they acted like his most loyal servants.

The leader, seeing this, already understood the situation.

The ones who went to see the leader in the end were Grey, the Yellow Ancestor, and the Spirit Ancestor.

It could be said that Grey’s display of power here had infinitely increased his status in the main world. He would now be one of the key figures called upon for opinions whenever any major events happened. One appearance completely changed his standing.

Soon, they arrived at the place designated by the Myriad Gates expert, Luther.

The Yellow Ancestor and Spirit Ancestor were not afraid. In fact, they felt incredibly secure around Grey, a mere sixth ranker. They could only look at each other in sheer speechlessness.

Entering the room, they saw a bald man wearing dark glasses.

”Welcome to my humble little abode, friends. I am Andrew Titanium,” the man greeted. ”Nice to meet you.”

”Is your family name really Titanium?” Grey asked with his lips twitching.

The man spoke an alien language, but they were communicating using their consciousness. Hence, everything was naturally translated. It was not mere words, but rather the intentions being conveyed, which were then translated into understandable concepts. For Grey, it was translated directly into pure Earth language as ”Titanium.”

He was sure this title was meant to be something grand and renowned, but he genuinely felt like laughing upon hearing this. Which man decides to name their child Titanium one day?

”Is there something funny, Mr. Grey Lockhart?” the bald man asked with twitching lips.

”Nothing,” Grey replied while blinking innocently.

”Haha. No need to be tense. I was just joking. Please, take a seat,” the bald man said as he invited them to the chairs arranged for them.

Making sure there were no traps, they sat down.

”Let us cut to the chase.”

”The reason I initiated this war was because of the Holy Corpse. I want the inheritance of the legendary Ji Gong inside it,” Andrew spoke in a serious tone.

”My initial plan was to use this war as a way to distract the Myriad-Race Alliance to get to the Holy Corpse while the ancestors were kept at bay.”

”However, I realized that plan will not work anymore.”

”I realized it yesterday, but after your arrival, Mr. Grey Lockhart, it has become even more certain.”

”We are doomed to fail,” he added. ”Yesterday, I received news that the abyss is on the move, and so is the Crystal Zerg race. They have already forged domains around the Holy Corpse.”

”Hence, we have no choice but to team up,” Andrew spoke as he stood up.

”And why would we team up with you?” Grey spoke up. ”You said it yourself. You wanted to distract us to get to the Holy Corpse.”

”You are naturally crafty. Why should we believe you?”

”And most importantly, what do we get from teaming up with you?”

The tension in the room rose immediately.

The Yellow Ancestor and the Spirit Ancestor did not expect such bold words from Grey.

They were fully prepared to take the initiative in the negotiations, but Grey was already steps ahead in the game, and his questions were surprisingly sharp and logical.
