Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 571: Return, Alissa’s Ice Compass, Entering the Creator Space for the 7th rank, finding imperfections in the immortal path

”What did this kid do?” Tian Yuan was completely restless. He could not believe Grey could do such a thing.

For a split moment, Tian Yuan did not know what to say or do.

He could only watch as the resonance formed and Grey tapped into the Nirvana State enlightenment.

’For now, I should try to gather as much enlightenment from him for my purpose.’

The connection from the sea of consciousness was already active; Grey was already transmitting information to the ancestors.

”Nirvana Power.”

This power contained the boundless teachings of the Buddha. Achieving this state was not easy. To achieve Nirvana was to be at perfect peace, to transcend the cycle of rebirth itself, and to give birth to Nirvanic Power that could crush any evil.

This was literal. Nirvana Power could easily crush even Abyssal energy and Abyssal beings.

”Transcend the cycle of rebirth. Huh?”

To transcend the cycle of rebirth is to transcend fate itself.

’Could my already having transcended that cycle be the reason why I managed to form Axiom power?’

However, Grey shook his head.

No, the power he had was a base version with no attribute attached to it aside from his inherent perfection.

He formed it by understanding the intricate patterns of the two forces and formulating a plan to resonate them together, and it worked flawlessly. It had nothing to do with the cycle.

Besides, the notion of transcending the cycle of rebirth was specifically to achieve the Nirvana state and had nothing to do with his unique method of ascension.

Soon, his comprehension stopped.

The state’s enlightenment was short, but it did show him a clear path for the future.

He now understood much more about his Axiom power and how it functioned. Not only that, but he had also managed to obtain the latent power to freely break through to the tenth rank whenever he needed to.

Of course, he was not going to do that right away.

After this, he would enter the simulation path and start working on the seventh rank.

This brief enlightenment not only helped him understand the state, but it also gave him solid direction for his future evolutionary paths—which direction he should take and how it should progress.

For now, Grey retreated his focus. The Enlightened Body was now just a condensed beam of energy that existed purely within his body. It could be tapped to extract power for a breakthrough at any given time.

Speaking of which, this miraculous power also automatically refueled his foundational power.

Grey wondered how Ji Gong managed to discover such a method to form these bodies.

He had not found the exact origin of this technique yet, but once he did, he would definitely be able to use it for future purposes.

With that out of the way, he slowly opened his eyes to see the ancestors surrounding him, all sitting cross-legged in the void.

They were still comprehending the profound insights they had received from Grey.

Tian Yuan, hidden among them, was already contemplating his Heaven Trampling State.

The Heaven Trampling State was the direct philosophical opposite of the Nirvana state.

However, remaining here would not help him contemplate it further.

He stood up in his clone form and spoke. ”I will be returning to my domain to contemplate this further.”

Before waiting for the others to reply, he vanished.

He would think about what he should do regarding Grey after sorting through this enlightenment.

Just like him, the other ancestors also began dispersing. They too wanted to retreat into seclusion to digest the gains.

They could feel their inner demons naturally clearing as they began studying this state.

This was absolutely crucial for eighth rankers.

Soon, only he and Kaelith were left behind.

”Shall we head out?” Grey asked.

Kaelith nodded.

From beginning to end, Kaelith had kept a low profile, not showing the full extent of his powers. But it was understandable; if he revealed his true god-level powers, things could get extremely tricky.

Soon, they returned to the Nexus Domain.

Seeing Grey already at the absolute peak of the sixth rank, his family and friends were taken aback.

He briefly explained the situation to them and spent some quality time together with everyone.

Then, he spent an extra few hours with Alissa, helping her comprehend the myriad laws.

”Wait. Before you go. Have this.” Alissa came forward and handed him a delicate flower.

It was a beautiful flower sculpted entirely out of ice.

”Did you make this?” Grey asked with a smile.

”Just take it,” Alissa said as she presented it to Grey with a slightly flustered expression.

”I was experimenting with my source ice and the Myriad Law, and this flower formed as a result. It can act as a probability compass that guides you based on how cold it gets. If it freezes up, then whatever you are thinking about doing is probably a bad idea,” Alissa explained.

Grey was surprised upon hearing her. ”You made this?”

He was genuinely impressed by her ingenuity.

Then, he burst out laughing.

”But, Alissa... I cannot use it. I am a Fateless One, did you forget? It cannot read or help me at all.”

Alissa’s expression immediately fell when she heard this.

She had been so excited to give this to Grey that she had completely forgotten about his unique physique.

”Then...” Just as Alissa was about to say something else, she felt a gentle hand on her head.

”Thank you, Alissa. Even if I cannot use it, the fact that you had the heart to make and give it to me means a lot,” Grey said with a soft smile. ”I like this side of you a lot. You should express yourself more like this to the others, too.”

”...” Alissa’s expression immediately turned bright red. ”I-It is not like I did it specifically for you or anything! I-I just had a spare one. Do not get the wrong idea.”

”Alright. I will not,” Grey said with a small laugh.

”But, Alissa... if you like me, is it not better for you to just say it?”

”I already have my arms open for you,” Grey said with a teasing grin on his face.

He wanted to see how Alissa would react to his teasing.

However, Alissa wore a stunned look, and then a trace of genuine uncertainty appeared on her face.

Grey was taken aback by this complex reaction.

”Do not tell me...”

”Tell what?” Alissa swiftly snapped out of it as a dark shade of red flushed her suddenly angry face. ”Go away! Go spend time with your girlfriends!”

As she said that, she slammed the door right in Grey’s face.

He sighed in amusement as he turned and went directly into his creator’s space.

His goal right now was developing the seventh rank.

The seventh rank was pretty straightforward. The anchoring was already done, and he had thoroughly optimized his existence. Now, it was about breaking out of his former shell and fundamentally strengthening it.

This was the absolute foundational state for the ninth rank. It could not be skipped or ignored.

In short, it was a complete restrengthening process achieved by resonating with the Heavenly Dao.

And in his hands was the Axiom energy.

He was going to strengthen his seventh-rank body using pure Axiom energy.

But, of course, it was not as easy as simply ”strengthening” it.

There were naturally specific steps to follow.

For example, a martial artist undergoing metamorphosis at the seventh rank would detonate their martial form and merge with the Heavenly Dao, effectively turning into the living weapon they had wielded up until now.

Immortals would detonate their sparks for one final time, converting them into Heavenly Fire, which granted them immense power with each level.

In short, what he needed to do was realize the absolute most optimal strengthening path.

To achieve that, he would have to target every single inch of his existence.

For now, he decided to borrow some techniques from the Yellow Ancestor to better understand how the process worked.

He acquired the Heavenly Fire Rejuvenation technique.

There were twelve levels to it, and each involved reforging the dimensional body using the power of the Heavenly Dao.

”But it is so full of holes.” Grey blinked in genuine surprise. This was entirely beyond his expectations.

One look at the technique was enough to tell him everything he needed to know.

This technique was simply not hitting all the right spots correctly. It was like an inexperienced masseur massaging someone; they only hit the normal, superficial spots. The customer would not notice the difference either way because a massage was still a massage and provided a basic level of satisfaction and relaxation.

This technique was exactly like that. It could do the job, but it completely failed to hit all the vital spots correctly.

”Is Tian Yuan actually an idiot?” Grey blinked.

His evaluation of Tian Yuan was dropping by the second.

He was under the assumption that this immortal path was personally crafted by him.

”But no worries. I can fix it and even make it perfectly suitable for my seventh rank,” Grey grinned.
