Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 567: Inner Demon, Who came up with Heaven Trampling? The Inner Demon Vanquishing Technique

It did not take the ancestors and Grey long to reach the Holy Corpse. It was currently floating within the borders of the Myriad-Race Alliance, after all.

As soon as they began approaching the massive corpse, ancient Buddhist chants began to ring out through the void.

Everyone heard this, and their minds became tranquil and calm immediately after hearing the rhythmic verses.

”Oh, wow.” Grey could not help but exclaim.

The chant was without a doubt coming from the Holy Corpse itself. But the chant was also incredibly complex; it could directly calm minds and vanquish any inner demons one harbored.

Inner demons were a major aspect of ascending to the eighth rank.

Some of the ancestors even showed a look of absolute bliss upon hearing the chant.

The Chaos Lotus was having a hard time picking up the chant because the verses were complex and rhythmic, but that was precisely what made it so calming to listen to.

Grey suddenly caught an inspiration.

He began listening more attentively than before, fully unleashing his heaven-defying comprehension to the world.

Once it reached its peak, enlightenment came rushing in without a stop.

The chant was being structurally studied by Grey down to its core frequency.

Soon, his usual notification appeared in his head.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By hearing the chant of a Buddhist sealed Enlightened Body, you have compiled the technique: ”Inner Demon Vanquishing Technique.”]

Inner demons were powerful obstacles. He would inevitably encounter them at the eighth rank as well.

Although the knowledge he currently had of it was limited, the inner demon was supposedly the most fundamental problem an evolver would have to face.

These inner demons were what would act as a cultivator’s ultimate tribulation. They were said to be the absolute limiting factor of one’s existence.

Only by vanquishing these inner demons could you truly transcend the scale of the universe and reach the ninth rank.

If the eighth rank was known as the Universal Realm, the ninth rank was known as the Dao Generation Realm.

That was just the broad term, because that is exactly what one must do at that stage.

One had to force themselves out of the universe’s natural scale and fully comprehend the Dao.

Hence the name Universe Ascension, and to achieve that, clearing one’s inner demons was an absolute necessity.

There was a special concept known as ”Myriad Realms Return to One.”

This concept was what took an evolver out of the many scattered branches of reality. You merged with your other selves across timelines and activated the transcendental state, where you were no longer confined to the space and time of a single universe, officially becoming a true multiverse entity.

Make no mistake, for Grey, ascending from the eighth rank into the higher ranks would be the easiest hurdle, as he was naturally fateless and not confined by the concept of space and time of a single universe anyway.

But he was sure there would be something different waiting for him at the summit to clear.

Whatever it was, his path would be perfectly developed to clear those obstacles and achieve transcendence.

”I just comprehended a new technique. Who wants to try it?” Grey asked with a smile as he glanced around. Eventually, his eyes settled on an eighth ranker at the first level.

This particular ancestor was following a variation of immortal cultivation. Grey easily recognized it.

This was the same path as the Yellow Ancestor.

He liked this variation of the immortal path.

The Yellow Ancestor was an Immortal Seed Realm expert, the Immortal Seed Realm being the equivalent of the eighth rank. After that came the ninth rank: the Heaven Trampling Realm.

Heaven Trampling was a very domineering name. He would very much like to use it for his own path, but what if he got copyrighted by the heavens for using it?

But on the other hand, was Pangu not already dead?

Or this variation could be the handy work of Tian Yuan and not Pangu, Grey mentally thought.

Only he would think about something trivial like this during such a moment.

And the realm name did suit his style.

He wondered where Tian Yuan got this name from.

For some unknown reason, his Axiom Energy stirred when he simply thought about Heaven Trampling.

That aside, this ancestor who was in the Immortal Seed Realm was at the first level.

He also seemed to be on the very verge of a breakthrough.

”You are on the verge of breakthrough. Why do you not break through right here?” Grey asked with a warm smile.

”Right here?” The ancestor frowned. ”I do not think we should do it right now, friend. Inner demons are not easy to clear.”

”Like I said, I just comprehended a technique.” Grey said with a laugh. ”Why do you not try it out?”

”Do as he says,” the Yellow Ancestor, the man’s direct senior, instructed.

The Yellow Ancestor was also very curious about this new technique.

The ancestor looked confused, yet the others also began encouraging him, wanting to see what Grey was up to.

Besides, even if he blew up, would this young man not be able to bring him back to life without problems using the same power from before?

No one was scared.

The ancestor began ascending to the second level.

Immediately, a dark-red lightning crackled through his body, and he clutched his head in agonizing pain.

”Argh.” He struggled as he desperately tried to contain the surging inner demon.

He had no prior preparation. The way it was going, he might as well die to his inner demon.

However, Grey immediately moved.

He activated the Inner Demon Vanquishing Technique.

The ancient chants of the Holy Corpse were deliberately suppressed by Grey around their area; this was intentional to stop the corpse’s chant from passively helping the expert.

Hence, the instant his technique landed, the exact same calming effect of the Holy Corpse appeared from Grey. A golden light shimmered around him with ethereal Buddha statue illusions appearing in the void.

The ancestor who was struggling visibly calmed down as Grey amplified the rhythmic sounds, making them directly drill into the ancestor’s core.

Boom!

The crackling red lightning around him was completely vanquished, and his power surged successfully into the second level.

No one said anything; they just stared at Grey, deadpan.

At this point, they were completely done being stunned by him.

His powers were on a completely new level that they could not even begin to comprehend.

”You really are a monster,” Andrew, the Myriad Gates leader, spoke with a heavy sigh.

”With you here, I am sure we will not lose.”

”I do not know about that.” Grey looked toward the target from afar.

It was clear that things would not be easy. He saw several Crystal Zerg race fleets swarming all around the corpse.
