Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 559: How can you still hit me? Descension of the Holy Corpse

”How is it? Do you want to test out the powers of the Myriad Law of Chaos?” Grey asked with a small smile.

”Yes,” Alissa replied. ”I want to test it out.”

”Alright,” Grey spoke casually. ”Get ready.”

As he spoke, his frequential Nexus power stirred and rushed towards Alissa. Considering the fact that she had just formed a frequential helix, her combat power was on the level of the sixth rank, first or second level of the main world.

Hence, he swiftly adjusted his power to match that level.

By the time the wave of power reached Alissa, she already had her Myriad Law of Chaos activated. If it worked like how Grey had demonstrated to her once before, then she theoretically should not be hit by this attack.

She had already lowered the probability of it landing to zero.

However...

Boom!

An explosion went off where Alissa stood, and the attack landed squarely on her face.

”Y-You liar.” Alissa’s shaking voice came from the dissipating smoke.

Grey’s expression visibly turned to shock when he saw this.

”Are you even using the power properly?” Grey asked, momentarily speechless.

”I did! I lowered the probability of your ability hitting me to zero!” An angry Alissa now eyed him fiercely, as if she had just been scammed.

”Eh? Really?” Grey frowned. What was the issue here?

How come the attack still landed on Alissa?

They tried it again, and Alissa still got hit.

She looked even angrier than before, fuming like a kettle that was just about to burst from steam.

Grey swiftly healed her of any injuries, a deep frown settling on his face.

The following moment, he invited Kaelith to the room.

”Hit her,” Grey instructed. ”Reduce your power to that of the sixth rank, first level.”

”Alright.” Kaelith nodded as he turned to Alissa. ”Fabled True Source Dragon, I will now be attacking you.”

Kaelith was already familiarized with Alissa being a True Source Dragon. Likewise, Alissa knew this man was a god.

Soon, he formed a golden palm using pure energy and thrust it towards Alissa.

However, this time, instead of making contact, the golden palm glitched and shifted past Alissa by a few inches.

”It worked?” Alissa’s eyes widened.

Then, why did it not work on Grey? She gave Grey a side-eye. Was this guy a system hacker by any chance? She believed he must be manipulating the rules!

However, she did not immediately call him out, as he seemed deeply in thought.

Is it because we both are at the minor succession? But because my law comprehension is greater than Alissa’s, I managed to overpower her? That was his initial thought.

But in the end, he shook his head. That is not how this worked.

Even with a greater comprehension, he had completely bypassed his own law power of the Myriad Law of Chaos when attacking Alissa, but the strike still landed.

That could only mean one thing.

”Nexus energy can still deal damage to someone with a Myriad Law of Chaos physique.”

Indeed, what was the Nexus energy? It was the ultimate pinnacle. There was nothing above it. Its mere presence alone could dictate the world. The flow of fate itself had to make way for this energy.

This tyrannical energy was something not even the Myriad Law of Chaos could deflect.

”Well, for now, I think it is clear that it works,” Grey spoke. ”Since you have just finished breaking through, try going out and getting some fresh air. I need to prepare for my ascension.”

Alissa nodded at this. While she was curious as to why she could not negate Grey’s attack, it was clear that he did not want to say anything more for now.

Once he stepped out of the room, he turned to Kaelith.

”I am going to ascend to the sixth rank. Can you help me out in case of any errors?”

”Of course.”

Grey’s foundation had already reached back to one hundred percent. The Endless Potential physique was just that terrifying.

What he needed to do now was directly ascend to the sixth rank. Doing so would deplete him of any foundational power, but Kaelith was here to help him manage that.

There was no time to wait.

While he was preparing to advance...

Out in the boundless chaos, a powerful and tyrannical presence was shuttling through the void. It had no set direction or navigation.

But the following moment, as if attracted to a nearby beacon, the presence shot directly towards a blinking light.

The presence in question was a gigantic corpse.

Boom!

The corpse’s hand met the outer membrane of the universe and easily broke through it.

The following instant, its tyrannical presence washed over the entire universe as it shrank to the size of a small planet and drifted right into the realm.

Every known eighth-ranker in the world was alerted of its sudden arrival.

The lords of the Crystal Zerg race were immediately alerted.

”Is it a Holy Corpse? At this time?” An ancient voice boomed. ”Has the time for higher world ascension arrived, that corpses are falling from the higher planes?”

”I need to inform the master.”

Within the Daoye Palace.

Tian Yuan, who sat on his throne, opened his eyes with an indifferent look on his face.

”A Holy Corpse. Huh?”

”At this time. Has that annoying brat’s presence altered the timing?”

”How annoying.”

At the edge of the universe, the human ancestors who were loitering away also seemed to have noticed its presence.

”Yellow Ancestor,” the others called to their leader. The Yellow Ancestor was standing in the air with his hands clasped behind his back.

”The Holy Corpse.”

”It is really here.” The Yellow Ancestor’s eyes glinted with a strange light.

Somewhere far away, an ancient being that had been slumbering all this while was jolted fully awake.

”This presence is... a Holy Corpse?” The ancient being’s eyes glittered like the starry sky.

”A Holy Corpse. Endless treasure and power.”

”I must acquire it before everyone else!”
