Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 562: Tian Yuan’s Thoughts, Buddha’s relation, Ji Gong’s relation to the Holy Corpse. The Power of State

”Means to reach the tenth rank?”

”How does that work?” Grey asked curiously. ”Like how the Jade Emperor’s tree works?”

”Not quite. It just pushes your potential to the tenth rank and doesn’t have anything to do with Fate. It is said that these holy corpses were once refined by a saint in the higher world who had long since disappeared from the face of the endless reality. He is being that was half step into the state.”

”Everyone across the endless reality sought after these holy corpses he made.”

”It is said that these corpses also contains his inheritance or rather insight into something known as ’State’.”

”What is this saint’s name?” Grey asked.

”Ji Gong. He is a Bodhi Saint who attained sainthood by supposedly achieving enlightenment. He is one of the very few to become a full saint without the help of the Heavenly Dao. He is a firm believer of the Buddha.”

”Oh.” Grey had a look of realization. He had heard of this man’s name before in mythology back on Earth.

He was a crazy monk who drank, broke all monk rules, and helped the people in need.

He was a monk who cared little for rules and was said to possess immense magical powers.

To think, in reality, his powers were incredible enough to put the entire universe on alert when a holy corpse arrives.

But from what he knew, he was also the reincarnation of an Arhat, in literal terms an Enlightened Being. So, this would make a lot of sense.

----

”That man Ji Gong. I wonder where he and the others went off to.” Tian Yuan sat in his palace with a calculative look on his face.

”I cannot find a single trace of them,” he sighed.

”What have you done to them, Pangu?”

”Even when dead. You are trying to pull your strings.”

He was sure Pangu had a part to play in all this.

They existed because he and the Heavenly Dao spread the immortal path and created variations and several universes related to it, after all.

The Buddhist Evolutionary Path was rare in the mortal world, only 10 out of 1 universe had the Buddhist path, but in the higher worlds, it was a common path. It was inspired from the immortal path and made completely anew with fresh teachings and directions.

The man who forged this path became known as Buddha. Buddha was someone that even the Chaos Emperor feared and the Paragons were wary of.

Now, he was nowhere to be seen.

”I wonder. Could he have ascended?”

Buddha was said to possess potential to obtain endless ascendancy valor or said to have possessed a power similar to it due to birthing the Buddhist path and achieving nirvana.

Nirvana was a special state that Tian Yuan himself was trying to comprehend.

This state was the reason why the Paragons were wary of Buddha.

But he had long disappeared, way before the incident that killed Pangu. No one knew where he went. Not even Tian Yuan’s ability to calculate things via fate could see through their disappearance. It was not just them; the main immortal world itself disappeared from the endless reality.

On that note, Buddha was one of the reasons the Paragons attacked Pangu. Buddha was the core reason Pangu achieved an ascendancy valor rivaling the Paragons themselves.

Buddha drew inspiration from the teachings of immortal cultivation and derived his own path from it.

It was a path taken only as inspiration, yet that inspiration directly tied Buddha to Pangu.

”It does not matter. I will figure it out once I move on with my plan and fully awaken my powers to achieve Heaven Trampling.” Tian Yuan’s eyes glittered with starlight.

Heaven Trampling. Once he reached that state, he would no longer be an ant inside the Ascendancy Domain. Perhaps looking at the concept of nirvana would be beneficial. It shared similarities. It was a state that allowed one to achieve boundless ascendancy valor.

He also wanted to pay Hell a visit. There was a state he could comprehend from there as well.

He would be able to make a trip once his engram was complete, after acquiring the mysterious convergence power in the center of the multiverse.

States were just that important. No one had cracked the code on how to systematically form the powers they possess through normal means.

This so-called state was what led to the powers one acquired. Reverse engineering that power was harder than ascending to the Ascendancy Domain, or that is what the Chaos Emperor once said.

The Chaos Emperor himself was a being who was a half step into a state known as the Chaos State. If he had fully reached the full Chaos State, then perhaps the course of the endless reality would not be the way it was right now.

---

”Buddha, huh?”

Grey knew that higher being existed. But from what the World Tree said, they had disappeared long ago.

He believed the Paragons knew something about it.

The World Tree also told him in depths about state.

”Whatever.” Grey returned to reality.

”Yellow Ancestor. Kaelith. We are going to deal with the Myriad Gates.”

”I need that Holy Corpse. That’s the current priority right now,” Grey said with a small smile.

Now that he was at the sixth rank, he needed to form the seventh rank, the eighth rank, and then the ninth and tenth.

Perhaps this Holy Corpse might even help him.

This Holy Corpse apparently held the mystery of nirvana.

He wondered what it was and what he would gain from this nirvana.

”Lead the way to the battlefield.”

”But you just broke through,” Kaelith spoke. ”Should you not be trying to gain control over your powers?”

What Kaelith said was logical. Grey had just achieved dimensional transcendency; any normal evolver would first learn to control their newfound powers.

”I do not need to,” Grey said with a sigh.

He possessed a heaven-defying comprehension that automatically activated, allowing him to take complete control over his powers effortlessly.

In fact, if not for his comprehension, the raw power he could exert right now would have crushed him.

The power of an eighth rank was no joke.

Of course, the power in this case was just raw energy; there was nothing fancy about it. But it could most definitely crush an eighth ranker at the second level. With Nexus Overclock, it could be pushed even further.

An eighth ranker at the third level could still easily crush him because he lacked the specific powers they possessed. This eventually made his powers similar to those of his Azure Origin Universe’s Army of Origin.

Grey swiftly passed the information of his departure to Alan, who relayed it to the others, and then they headed to the battlefield.
