Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 583: The 8th rank complete, Tian Yuan’s move

The Inner Demon Vanquishing technique.

The ancient chants that it produced were incredibly specific and demanding. If even one single syllable of the complex verse was slightly wrong, there was no way the technique was going to work. The frequency resonance would completely shatter, rendering the entire cleansing process useless.

So, if Grey wanted to convert this rhythmic flow into precise mathematical ticks to match his unique evolutionary path, he had to make certain there was zero difference in the core frequency and meaning of the original chant.

Otherwise, he would be forced to sit down and engineer a completely different harmonic sequence from scratch.

”At this point, I am also turning into a music composer,” Grey sighed, rubbing his temples in mild exhaustion.

For the sake of perfecting his flawless path, he had to master many different cosmic disciplines, and bizarre spatial acoustics was apparently one of them.

He stepped deeper into the simulation space and created a new test subject. He made this specific clone one million years old and ordered it to actively utilize the base Inner Demon Vanquishing technique.

On the side of his vision, the simulator space provided a convenient estimated time option. This feature automatically popped up whenever a simulated process would take way too long to show immediate results.

The holographic display blinked and showed an estimated completion time of almost one million years.

Grey’s lips twitched upon seeing this massive number. This simulated dude had already lived for a million years, gathering karmic weight and regrets, but the inner demons were so deeply rooted that the technique required him to chant continuously for another million years just to clear them?

He still pressed the skip button to see the final result.

Soon, the simulation fast-forwarded through the eons. He saw the ancient clone standing at the very brink of breaking into the ninth rank threshold. He also saw detailed timestamps of when precisely this clone reached each sublevel of the eighth rank.

It was a success. The power this Inner Demon Vanquishing technique held over the eighth rank was solid. It could even help a million-year-old evolver break through eventually, given enough time and dedication.

He also noticed there was not much violent struggle during each of the clone’s breakthroughs. This proved the foundational technique was useful and largely safe. The evolver was not at risk of spontaneous combustion. But the sheer density of a million-year-old inner demon was just so strong it took a million years to patiently scrub clean.

He tried it again on a new clone who had only lived for five hundred thousand years.

The result was the same in terms of safety, but surprisingly, it only took the clone two hundred and fifty thousand years to fully cleanse all its inner demons.

The cosmic rule of older people struggling more and younger people struggling less was proven true in the end. A younger soul accumulated far less karmic baggage, trauma, and lingering regrets.

This was surprising all by itself.

”But my goal is to crush an inner demon the instant it appears.”

”Not painstakingly wait for a million years,” Grey muttered to himself.

An eighth ranker’s lifespan was as vast as it could get in the mortal realms.

For example, the Yellow Ancestor and others of his caliber could easily live for over five million years without ever worrying about their vitality drying up.

But the glaring issue with this long lifespan was that it only applied in normal cosmic expanses. Once a being crossed the threshold into the higher worlds, everything changed drastically. That five million year lifespan would instantly compress, becoming roughly fifty years of local time.

It was really strange. He wanted to understand why exactly such a harsh temporal phenomenon occurred. Was the higher world’s space-time density just that crushing? Did the supreme laws of decay work differently under the weight of a heavier Dao?

Of course, a normal eighth ranker could not just barge into the higher world anyway.

This lifespan anomaly was a phenomenon recorded by some ancient Daoist in the higher world. That ancient expert had somehow brought his friend from the lower realm up with him. The friend was a peak eighth ranker, yet he withered and died just fifty years later, even though he could have lived for eons back down below.

A Dao Generation expert could live even longer, boasting a ten million year lifespan in the lower realms. And that was just the baseline for the ninth rank.

But even that immense number only translated to one hundred years in the higher world.

Which was honestly laughable. It meant that stepping into a higher plane of existence stripped away your perceived immortality and forced you to race against the clock all over again.

Grey shook himself out of his stupor and continued working on his evolutionary path. There was no point in worrying about higher world mechanics right now when his current project was unfinished.

For now, his top priority was elevating the Inner Demon Vanquishing technique to a level where it could crush even a million-year-old inner demon in mere seconds.

For that to happen, he had to form structural ticks. These ticks were supposed to strictly follow the mathematical pattern of the Golden Ratio so the cleansing effects would be exponentially amplified.

But the main problem here was that, once he formed these rhythmic ticks, the Inner Demon Vanquishing technique stopped working completely.

He quickly understood why. The ticks created tiny, microscopic gaps in the continuous chants. Those gaps disrupted the harmonic flow, diminishing almost all of its sacred power and leaving nothing but empty noise behind.

But his comprehension defied the heavens.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By analyzing the workings and importance of the chant, you have gained comprehension into the Buddha Syllable chants.]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By analyzing the workings and importance of the chant, you have gained comprehension into the Buddha Syllable chants.]

His comprehension surged like a violent tidal wave, completely revolutionizing his understanding of the chant.

He slowly began unraveling the true conceptual origin of these ancient verses.

These were the ultimate scriptures of the Buddha.

It was the cumulative experience of a supreme being’s understanding and control over his own state of existence. The chants were the literal manifestation of a profound understanding that the entire universe rested peacefully in the palm of the Buddha!

It was his pure experience.

Having that profound understanding was enough for Grey.

What he needed to do was channel this vast experience of the Buddha, but not in a forceful, linear way.

The Buddha’s conceptual presence was everywhere; Grey just needed to channel it properly via this modified technique.

To put it into a modern perspective, he just needed to create completely separate layers for the ticks and the chants. It was exactly like arranging different audio tracks on different timestamps in a professional music editing software.

He swiftly began making the complex structural changes to his source code.

The ticks would run on one base layer, strictly following the precise geometric line of the Golden Ratio to act as a massive, compounding amplifier. On a separate, overlapping acoustic layer, the continuous Buddhist chant would play out uninterrupted. Now that he fully understood the core meaning of the Buddha Syllables, the synchronization between the two tracks would be flawless.

With this final adjustment, his technique was complete.

He swiftly used the updated technique on a new one million-year-old clone.

The cleansing time had miraculously reduced down to just one hundred years.

For a clone who was five hundred thousand years old, the time was reduced to a mere twenty-five years.

For someone like Grey, who was practically a newborn in cosmic terms, he could achieve an instantaneous, flawless result.

But the eighth rank was not just about some simple inner demon cleansing.

Successfully surviving the inner demon cleansing naturally granted the evolver an immense foundation strengthening reward, preparing their body and soul to handle the crushing pressure of the Dao Generation stage.

However, this specific cosmic reward was traditionally distributed by the Heavenly Dao. Because Grey’s path was independent and outside the normal cosmic jurisdiction, he needed a powerful alternative to provide that exact same foundational nourishment.

Fortunately for that, he already had a reliable partner.

The Dao of Power.

He had previously used it to perfectly anchor his fifth rank, and now he would use it to power the foundation of his eighth rank.

He swiftly shifted his consciousness into its hidden dimension. It did not take long for him to negotiate with the enigmatic will residing there. The Dao of Power recognized Grey’s 8th rank and easily agreed to the exchange, eventually granting him the necessary permissions and latent power.

He smoothly channeled the the dao of power and made the final structural changes inside the Creator Invocation space.

With this, the eighth rank framework was officially ready.

At the exact same time, far away in the secluded depths of the Daoye Palace.

Tian Yuan slowly opened his eyes. The ambient energy in the grand, opulent hall trembled slightly at his awakening.

”With this recent session, my Heaven Trampling state is much more refined,” he murmured to himself.

He then looked down at his open hands. Several intricate, glowing golden runes began to light up across his skin, pulsing with a strange, fate-altering energy.

”Oh?” He saw something deep within the runic sequence that caught his attention immediately.

”The Fate Race?”

He sat in deep thought, his eyes narrowing as he calculated endless possibilities and shifting timelines. The sudden movement or relevance of the Fate Race was not a small matter; it signaled a major shift in the cosmic balance that even he could not ignore.

”Looks like I need to retrieve my experiment,” Tian Yuan said softly. ”It is finally time to leave this universe.”
