Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 585: A Fierce Combat and Unexpected Suprise that changed the tide of battle

Grey recognized the aura he just felt.

There was no need to doubt. This was without a doubt Tian Yuan!

”Why did you come, Tian Yuan?” Grey slowly turned to the sky and asked.

In the sky, Tian Yuan stood with his hands folded behind his back. The stars themselves seemed to dim in his presence, as if the cosmos recognized an old master returning to reclaim a debt.

”I came here to take back what is mine,” he replied with complete indifference. ”My creation.”

Julie and Alissa immediately became serious upon hearing this. Miwa, on the other hand, became pale.

”Stay behind me.” Julie immediately cautioned to Miwa, her friend.

Miwa getting kidnapped was the last thing Julie wanted to see.

Alissa shared the same thought. She was already channeling the Myriad Laws Of Chaos. The very space around her hands rippled, threatening to unravel at a single command.

”Grey.” Eterna was naturally present, watching the scene unfold. She swiftly called out Grey’s name with some panic in her voice.

”I know,” he reassured her with a calm tone.

”I do not think you can just freely come to my domain and take away things, Tian Yuan,” Grey said loudly.

Tian Yuan sneered upon hearing this.

”Did having your power reach close to the tenth rank make you more arrogant, Grey?”

”This is not arrogance.” Grey shook his head. ”This planet is my domain, and you are demanding a person living in it. I, as its ruler, cannot unfortunately let that happen.”

”And do not even joke. Your creation? You stole from Eterna. Is that what you call creation?”

”...” Tian Yuan did not even bother replying to that accusation. His silence, however, told Grey everything he needed to know.

”I do not want to fight with you, Grey Lockhart,” Tian Yuan said coldly. ”Just hand over my creation, and I will be on my way.”

As he said that, he made a casual grabbing motion.

The air around Miwa began distorting as a powerful suction force erupted, latching onto her and attempting to make her disappear as the spatial dimension folded inward.

However, before she could reach Tian Yuan, Grey had already moved. His Axiom power erupted, completely negating the teleportation from occurring.

”...” Tian Yuan’s expression darkened.

”If you pick a fight with me, it will not end well, Grey Lockhart.”

”Try me.” Grey smiled.

The small exchange, or rather the nullification of Tian Yuan’s power just now, gave Grey a much better understanding of where he stood. He also understood exactly where the clone of Tian Yuan he was looking at stood.

If this fellow was not hiding his true strength, then it was entirely possible to win!

”Do you need my help, Master?” Alan’s voice cut through the tension.

The gods were also ready to engage. Behind Grey, dozens of divine auras flared to life, each one a kingdom unto itself, each one prepared to follow him into oblivion if he asked.

Grey, however, smiled.

”I am enough.”

Boom!

Axiom power erupted from Grey as his fist crashed into Tian Yuan.

Space and time cracked. Tian Yuan was flung several hundred light years away in a single instant.

Tian Yuan stabilized his form, wearing an annoyed and irritated expression.

”You cocky bastard!” Tian Yuan shouted, enraged.

He formed a complex seal. A golden whale burst out from his hands, surging through the spatial forces of the world. The golden whale devoured the spatial power as it grew stronger, barreling straight towards Grey.

Grey looked at it with dead calm. He pushed his hand forward. A terrifying force surged through the void, collapsing the golden whale completely. Not a single scale remained.

Tian Yuan said nothing. Before the whale even collapsed, a multi-colored trigram had formed behind him.

”72 Earthly Transformation!”

Reality blinked and shifted as a corrosive power erupted from Tian Yuan’s fingertip. It defied the concept of speed itself to reach Grey, landing a direct hit.

Grey’s source shivered as his body blinked.

Tian Yuan smiled seeing this. ”Where did your arrogance go now, Grey?”

However, before he could make another move, he saw the figure in front of him flickering and then dispersing into light.

”You fool.” Grey’s voice echoed from above. ”That was a clone.”

Boom!

Grey delivered a devastating kick. Tian Yuan’s body accelerated straight to the edge of the universe, crashing out of the universe itself and falling straight into the endless Chaos beyond.

Tian Yuan was heavily injured. Axiom power wreaked havoc inside his form, gnawing at the very laws that held him together.

”Tch, state power,” Tian Yuan’s expression was cold. But this did not mean he would lose. In fact, it was quite the opposite. He was not going to lose.

If he lost to Grey, he would be losing face here. And to a being of his standing, losing face was a wound deeper than any his body could suffer.

He unleashed his true arsenal.

”Grey Lockhart, you only have the power of a pseudo tenth rank. You do not have any Dao techniques to use it to its fullest extent!”

”That is precisely why you will lose!”

”Heaven Trampling Step!”

Tian Yuan took a heavy step forward. The Chaos around him erupted and folded as it all shot towards Grey, slowly turning into lethal chaos spikes.

Grey was taken aback by this sudden shift.

He tried to dodge, but realized there was no such thing as space here in the Chaos.

He could only run, but when he tried to move, a glowing mark formed directly on his face. It was a Dao mark bearing the name ’Heaven Trampling’.

”The rules of my technique have activated.”

”You are dead now, Grey Lockhart.”

Grey was stopped in place as the chaotic spikes rushed towards him.

Boom! The Chaos spikes landed and collapsed onto Grey. Their power was extremely corrosive, eating through layer after layer until nothing should have remained.

However, the following moment, Tian Yuan’s face erupted in pure shock.

”Another clone?!”

”Good catch,” a cold, playful voice whispered from behind Tian Yuan. It was another sneak attack.

”You... how can you create such a lifelike clone?” As soon as those words left his mouth, Grey’s Axiom power landed a fatal blow.

”It is related to Sun Wukong. I am actually his descendant,” Grey chuckled as he focused his energy. ”Every axiom power on my source can become another me. You were never fighting one Grey. You were fighting an army of them.”

As he said that, more and more clones formed in the chaos, all channeling their power to stop Tian Yuan.

This time, he was not going to let Tian Yuan go.

He was going to make sure that this man was eliminated once and for all.

Last time, Tian Yuan broke free from his Axiom power via his so-called Dao technique: Heaven Trampling Step. This time, Grey made sure he would not be able to use it at all. He clamped down on every law, every loophole, every thread Tian Yuan might pull to escape.

Tian Yuan’s figure began glitching as the Axiom power wreaked havoc deep inside his source.

Tian Yuan wore a shocked look.

”Impossible!” Tian Yuan exclaimed as his form began crumbling apart.

”You will pay for this, Grey Lockhart!” Tian Yuan roared.

Grey smiled in triumph seeing this. However, just then, Tian Yuan’s expression turned from shock to a crafty smirk.

”Bye bye, Grey Lockhart. You were strong, but you are not the only one with a cloning power.”

Boom!

As the words finished, Tian Yuan’s form vanished entirely, leaving a stunned Grey floating in the void.

”No, there is no way.” He shot back into the universe with extreme urgency, his heart sinking with every passing instant.

Once he reached back to the Nexus Domain, he saw everyone on the floor unconscious. Even Eterna was not functioning.

It only took him a quick scan to understand what went down here.

Miwa was successfully kidnapped.

”That guy.” Grey gritted his teeth in seething anger.

He could not believe that the other party had left a clone here, and all the things he had made him go through was all a grand act!

He had been completely fooled by Tian Yuan!

However, just then, World Breaking Source Power erupted near Grey.

He immediately grew wary.

The next moment, a burly figure stepped out of the portal. In his large hands was an unconscious Miwa.

”Joestar?!” Grey voiced his shock.

”Hello,” Joestar greeted Grey warmly. ”I got a little souvenir.”

As he said that, he waved his hand gently, handing Miwa over to Grey.

”But how?”

”I managed to sense the change in this universe via the Spirit Ancestor. I immediately rushed in to see the clone of Tian Yuan trying to kidnap this girl. I was cautious, and just before he got away, I grabbed the lady in time.”

”...” Grey had no words upon hearing this. The anger drained from him, replaced by a quiet, profound relief.

Joestar had turned the tides of battle just now for sure.

Indeed, having allies was a very good thing. Such is a prime example of having an ally you can trust.
