Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1598: Chapter 1598: The Old Lady Admits Defeat

Guan Qing sat alone in the café, drinking coffee and trying to calm her agitated heart.

She really hadn’t expected to encounter a Waterloo in her life.

She didn’t need to say it; she’d already guessed what had happened today.

It must have been An Hao’s doing!

She wanted to use this method to ruin her shop, which was truly despicable and shameless.

Fine, if that’s how it was going to be, then Guan Qing wouldn’t hold back either!

Let’s make a scene! Her shop might be doomed, but An Ping’s vegetable company would not get away with it. Let’s see who would suffer the most damage!

With that thought, Guan Qing stood up, settled the coffee bill, and left with her purse.

She went straight to find Wang Jiu.

In broad daylight, Wang Jiu was at home messing around with a woman from a dance hall, and as the shameless couple was in the midst of their affair, Guan Qing stormed in, livid.

She kicked open Wang Jiu’s bedroom door with a bang and stood in front of the two people.

”What the fuck! Who the hell is this?” Wang Jiu, who was in the middle of his fun, was startled and cursed. He grabbed a sheet to cover himself and turned his head, only to find it was Guan Qing. His tone immediately changed, ”Boss Guan, Sister Guan, Granny Guan! Could you not come so aggressively next time? You almost scared the hell out of me.”

”Jiu, who is this? You scared me to death!”

Guan Qing looked coldly at the woman, pointed toward the door, and said, ”Get out! Get out now!”

”Jiu...” The woman, dissatisfied, clutched her clothes and spoke in a whiny voice, ”Look at her.”

Seeing Guan Qing’s demeanor, Wang Jiu knew she definitely had issues to discuss, so he quickly patted the woman’s bottom and said, ”You go first, I’ll look for you later! Sister Guan is my money god! I can’t offend my money god!”

”Then... okay.” The woman, knowing her place and not wanting to block Wang Jiu’s path to wealth, gathered her things and left.

”Boss Guan, what’s going on?” Wang Jiu got out of bed, lit a cigarette, and put it in his mouth.

Without a word, Guan Qing pulled out a stack of cash with a slap and threw it in front of Wang Jiu: ”Go, smash that vegetable company! The worse, the better!”

Wang Jiu stared at Guan Qing in shock: ”Sis, am I hearing things? Didn’t you always want to take over that vegetable company? Why do you want it smashed now... Don’t forget, you’ve also borrowed money...”

Having mixed with Guan Qing for a while, Wang Jiu had developed some sentiments towards her. He felt he still needed to remind her.

”That’s none of your concern! I told you to smash it, so go smash it! I, the old lady, will take the loss!” Guan Qing yelled hysterically.

”Alrighty! As you say!” Wang Jiu stuffed the money into his pocket and stood up, ”Your wish is my command!”

..................

An Hao didn’t wait for the manager and went back with everyone.

She had promised to cook personally, so she had to keep her word.

A group of hungry people happily helped her out, picking vegetables, washing them, the entire kitchen bustling with activity.

Two steaming big carp, one braised, the other stewed, plus a bowl of rice for each person and four kinds of lightly fried green vegetables, left everyone sweating satisfactorily after the meal.

”It’s so good! I’m going to burst.” Gu Shuangshuang said, contentedly patting her round belly, ”If only I had room for more.”

”Look at you, no ambition.” An Hao smiled, got up to wash the dishes, and the phone in the living room rang.
