Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1583: Chapter 1583: Cash on delivery.

Lin Qiushu Yanran smiled and said, ”Secretary Zhang really knows the right timing! I like dealing with smart people! My condition is simple; I just want to check the financial status of Nanguofeng, that’s all!”

”Alright. I agree. But I’ll need some time,” Secretary Zhang thought for a moment and said.

”How many days?”

”One week!”

”That’s too long! By the time you bring me the results, my dish will have gone cold!”

”Then what do you suggest, Miss Lin?”

”Three days at the latest! I can’t wait any longer!”

”Three days? Isn’t that a bit too fast?” He couldn’t possibly obtain the reports from four companies at the same time, right?

”Not fast. I believe you have ways,” Lin Qiushu looked at him and slowly said, ”If you can’t get them in three days, then you can quit being the boss’s secretary! Such a person can’t cooperate with me either.”

Stung by Lin Qiushu’s words, Secretary Zhang felt a small flame ignite in his heart: ”Miss Lin, don’t underestimate me! Although I’m not very capable, I have been a secretary for many years! If I can’t do it, you won’t find another person in the entire company who can.”

”Good. I’m eagerly waiting for those words. Also, let me ask you something else.”

”Go ahead.”

”Did Guan Qing buy a large quantity of vegetables this time?”

”Well...” Secretary Zhang hesitated slightly but still told Lin Qiushu, ”You’re right. But, the money wasn’t ours; there was someone else backing her.”

”Who is that person? Could Secretary Zhang introduce me?” Lin Qiushu’s inquiry was exactly about this; she wanted to know who was funding Guan Qing.

”I can’t introduce you! However, I can tell you who he is. His surname is Hou! Hou Zicheng! I heard he is involved in the clothing manufacturing business! I’ve only met him once or twice! I wouldn’t be able to introduce, but I can recognize him.”

”Great. That’s excellent!” Lin Qiushu stated with a smile, achieving her goal, ”Alright. Secretary Zhang, you are indeed a trustworthy person! Bring me the information in three days, and I’ll pay you! Let’s exchange money for information.”

”Then... Alright.”

After getting the information from Secretary Zhang’s mouth, Lin Qiushu went back and discussed it with An Hao, and the two of them analyzed it thoroughly, feeling that the chance for a turnaround was still significant.

However, before that, there’s one very necessary thing to do.

......................

Almost three days have passed, and Secretary Zhang still hasn’t found a suitable reason to request the financial reports.

At this moment, something unexpected happened to Guan Qing.

She thought the vegetable company of An Ping must be in total chaos; however, she didn’t expect that the company was still operating in an orderly fashion.

Moreover, what enraged her even more was that the price of vegetables was getting lower every day.

It’s important to realize, her vegetable warehouse was rented temporarily, and those vegetables couldn’t be stored for long; five days was about the limit.

The leafy vegetables undoubtedly wouldn’t last, some were wilting, others drooping, while ones like eggplants and potatoes could last a couple more days.

These vegetables were originally Dapeng vegetables, priced a bit higher. Initially, to buy the vegetables from farmers, she had paid 5% above market price.

If these vegetables aren’t sold soon, they’ll probably rot and spoil, leading to a significant loss, turning the investment into a complete waste.
