Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1573: Chapter 1573: These Two Fools

”What should we do?” An Ping was deeply worried. If it was revenge, it meant that this woman named Guan Qing wouldn’t easily give up the chance to settle the score with them.

He was now truly anxious. Was the company once again in imminent danger?

”Worrying is pointless. Let’s first figure out her connections and how exactly she plans to trap us,” said An Hao.

”Alright, I’ll go and inquire about Guan Qing’s business operations, to see what she’s been up to these last few days. Now that you’ve fallen into the trap, panicking won’t help. What’s most important for me now is to think about how we can extricate ourselves from it?”

”Mm.” An Hao nodded.

”Brother-in-law, how are you going to find out?” An Ping asked.

”I have my ways. You don’t need to worry about that. But I’m curious, how could Guan Qing come up with such a contract?” Qin Jian said.

”Such a contract?” An Ping couldn’t help but wonder, ”What kind of contract are you talking about?”

”A contract that could destroy all your hard work with one fell swoop,” An Hao said, looking at An Ping. ”Do you remember? You said that once this contract was signed, if we made money, it would be a huge sum. But if we lost money, the company would be at great risk! The quantity of vegetables and the funding detailed in this contract are obviously based on your company’s financial status.”

”Sister, are you saying there’s a mole or traitor inside my company?” An Ping felt a sinking feeling.

”That’s not necessarily the case. The people in your company who can access the financial information are just the three of you and that accountant you hired, right?” An Hao asked.

”That’s right. That accountant is a very trustworthy old-timer! And it’s impossible for any of us three to have said anything...” An Ping stopped speaking mid-sentence, then froze, ”Sister, I think I know where the problem lies.”

When Guan Qing personally came to the company to negotiate business, he had raised this issue to her.

Among the customers An Ping had dealt with, there were very few bosses who came personally to purchase. Even if they did, they were usually from small restaurants.

A busy boss like Guan Qing surely wouldn’t need to come in person. However, she mentioned two points at the beginning, and now the first point seems negligible. The important thing was the second point; she mentioned Liu Xiaolian and Erzhuzi had saved her.

Her personal visit was meant to show gratitude.

But now he thought it wasn’t just that.

She had bodyguards with her when she came. He didn’t believe it was because after that incident, Guan Qing arranged bodyguards to protect herself.

Perhaps the truth was this: at the Disco Ballroom, she deliberately staged that scene, making Liu Erlian and Erzhuzi save her.

Out of gratitude, she treated them to drinks, and it was during this time that Guan Qing might have intentionally or unintentionally inquired about his company’s news.

These two fools thought they had won a big deal, but in reality, they inadvertently let someone extract the company’s financial status.

Guan Qing’s personal visit was just for confirmation, right?

”Now that it has come to this, regret is useless. You should go back. What’s bound to happen will happen. We’ll verify it as quickly as we can and see if there’s a way to salvage the situation,” said An Hao.

”Alright then... Sister, I’m really sorry. I’ve caused trouble again...” An Ping lowered his head, like a child who has done something wrong.
