Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1596: Chapter 1596: Foodie, Glutton, Dumbass

”Shut your mouth! You better have an explanation! If you can’t explain, then go find your boss! I don’t care whether you’re being framed or not, the ultimate victims here are us!” The customers were agitated, collectively decrying the restaurant.

”Yes! You must give us an explanation today. Otherwise, we’ll take down your sign!”

”Exactly!”

”An explanation!”

”Alright, alright! Everyone, please calm down, I’ll report back to the boss right now and then give you all a reasonable explanation!” After saying that, the manager was so scared he didn’t dare to use the front door and slipped away through the back door instead.

When the manager arrived at Guan Qing’s office, he was completely dumbfounded.

It turned out that he wasn’t the only one seeking help here today; three other managers had also come, and their situations weren’t much better than his.

”B-boss...” The manager walked in tremblingly, facing Guan Qing’s angry expression, ”We have a problem with our restaurant. I don’t know what’s wrong with today’s dishes, the customers are finding a lot of issues, and now these people are acting crazy, threatening to dismantle our restaurant, saying we must give them an explanation...”

Before he could finish speaking, Guan Qing was furious. She raised her hand and swept everything off the desk onto the floor, shrieking, ”Idiots! You are all idiots! You can’t even handle this small matter; what am I paying you for? The dishes have an issue, and you come to me? What use is that? Go find the chefs, go find the waitstaff, see who is causing trouble! Just send the troublemaker to the police station, won’t that solve it?”

”Boss, you make it sound so easy! Go and see how chaotic the restaurant is! Those customers won’t even give us a chance to breathe. Even if we want to question the chefs and waitstaff, we need evidence, right? If there’s no evidence, who would admit to any wrongdoing?”

”That’s right...”

”Even if we could close the restaurant for a thorough rectification, the customers wouldn’t allow it, would they? Now many people are demanding an explanation! To put it plainly, they’re after money!”

”No money for them! Tell them to piss off! To get lost far away!” Guan Qing was so angry she felt dizzy, with throbbing pain near her temples.

”Boss, have you lost your mind from anger? The customers are our livelihood! If we drive them away, can we still run this restaurant?” Secretary Zhang advised from the side.

”Then what do you suggest we do? Speak up!” Guan Qing glared at Secretary Zhang.

”Compensate them a bit. Take advantage of the fact that there are few people now and not many know about the situation! Keep this incident under wraps!” Secretary Zhang said.

”Yeah, yeah. That makes sense.” All four managers nodded in agreement.

”Pah! What do you use your brains for? Are your heads filled with shit?” Guan Qing held her arms across her chest, pacing back and forth in irritation, ”It’s clear that someone is deliberately targeting us! Among those causing trouble, how many are actual customers? How many are shills? Are you guys clear on that? And you want to pay them off to keep the peace! What if more people stir up trouble tomorrow?”

”But... we can’t just let them go on like this, can we?”

”If I knew what to do, what would I need you for? A bunch of pigs! Idiots! Fools!” Guan Qing was about to explode with anger, Nanguofeng was her life’s work.

Years of hard work finally paid off, and before she could even enjoy the success for two years, she now has to face this crisis!
