Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1597: Chapter 1597 Collective Resignation

These managers were really aggrieved, scolded to the point of being drenched in dog’s blood, worth nothing, and after hearing Guan Qing’s words, they even started to doubt their own lives.

”Boss, you can’t talk like that! We’re also anxious about the situation in the store, we understand how you’re feeling, but you have to give us some consideration, right? You can’t just negate all of our hard work in one sentence!”

”Yeah. Listen to how you’re scolding us, like we’re worthless! How did we become good-for-nothings and idiots? We earn our money with our hard work! We didn’t eat your food for free! The way you speak is insulting! I... I can’t take this kind of humiliation, I quit!” One of the branch managers dropped everything right then and there.

”Boss, you’re almost like a landlord lady from the old society! This is the new era, we are working people; we earn our keep with our own hands, what have we done to deserve your disrespect? Not to mention that, we are your elders in age, shouldn’t you show some respect to your elders?”

”Let’s not even talk about respect! You didn’t give us the basic decency we deserve! I quit too! The world is so big, is there any work that I can’t do to support myself? Why should I suffer this injustice under you?”

”Right, we quit! We all quit!”

Four store managers were also angered by Guan Qing’s scolding and quit on the spot.

”Fine, if you don’t want to work, that’s okay! You won’t get this month’s salary!” Guan Qing slapped the table, ”Your contracts aren’t even up yet, if you quit, you’ll forfeit a month’s salary!”

”Why? On what grounds do you deduct our salary? We need to reason with you.” The four managers also butted heads with Guan Qing.

”Stop, stop, stop!” Secretary Zhang, seeing things going south, hastily spoke up for Guan Qing, ”Managers, please don’t be angry. You are all valued by the boss, otherwise, he wouldn’t have offered such high salaries to recruit you. The boss is just hot-headed now, maybe a bit too harsh with his words. But it doesn’t matter, we are all one family, all for the good of Nanguofeng! Let’s all cool down, discuss and negotiate!”

The four managers looked towards Guan Qing: ”We don’t mean anything else! Boss, we understand you’re upset, but if you insult people, that’s not right. Could you apologize to us?”

Guan Qing grew up always being on top, when did she ever apologize to anyone?

Where would she deign to apologize to someone? She couldn’t endure it.

In her heart, all the issues in the store were due to these managers’ incompetence. She had never been stingy with their salaries and bonuses, and now she wasn’t even allowed to lash out a little.

Could they not even tolerate a couple of harsh words?

But now, she needed people to handle things for her.

So, with a gloomy expression, she said to Secretary Zhang, ”You handle this mess!”

With that, Guan Qing grabbed her bag and got up to leave.

With a bang, the door closed, separating two worlds.

”Secretary Zhang, see what her attitude is like? So high and mighty!”

”High and mighty, sure, we can understand that, after all, she’s the boss. But insulting people is unforgivable! If she doesn’t apologize, I won’t continue working with that attitude!”

”This is an insult! At my age, I can’t tolerate this!”

”Right! We’ll resign collectively!”
