Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1563: Chapter 1463: The Man Who Doesn’t Understand Romance

Lin Qiushu smiled and took the lead walking forward.

An Hao was about to follow when she felt a sudden tightness around her waist, as Qin Jian’s long arm firmly encircled her by his side.

She was startled and was just about to turn her head to ask Qin Jian what he was doing when suddenly, his lips came close to her ear and he said in a low voice, ”She’s right.”

”What?” An Hao was bewildered.

”You don’t look at all like the country girl you claim to be! If I didn’t already know you, I would truly believe you were some noble lady.”

An Hao pursed her lips and smiled, feeling nothing happier than being praised by the one she loved: ”Your flattery is getting sweeter and sweeter.”

”I’m just telling it like it is.”

”Okay, if you’re done telling it like it is, shouldn’t you let go of my waist now?” An Hao pointed to Lin Qiushu walking ahead, ”Although we are all young, it’s still not good to be seen like this by others.”

No sooner had she finished speaking than she felt her body lighten.

Qin Jian didn’t let go of her; instead, he lifted her into his arms.

”Qin Jian... don’t let people see us, it’s so embarrassing,” An Hao whispered.

”There’s a stream ahead, and it’s not convenient for you to get cold water on you. If your feet get wet, your stomach will hurt tonight. Hold onto my neck nicely, and I’ll put you down after we cross,” Qin Jian said with a smile.

”Huh? Did we take a different route?” An Hao was confused.

”Yes. The original mountain path was too steep. This one is gentler; after crossing the stream, it won’t be long before we arrive,” Qin Jian explained.

With that being the case, she might as well just enjoy the feeling guilt-free.

Lin Qiushu had already taken off her shoes by the riverside, and when she turned her head, she saw An Hao clinging tightly to Qin Jian, who held her as if he was holding his entire world.

She couldn’t help but remember the day Yan Ye took her home; that guy had actually carried her down the stairs instead of holding her.

And then he rode her back on a bike.

There’s a big difference between holding and carrying, isn’t there?

She liked the feeling of being cared for, watching An Hao’s petite figure snuggled in Qin Jian’s arms; it was truly an enviable sweetness.

Humph! Serve Yan Ye right for being over thirty and still single, such an insensitive man! Humph!

”What’s with you looking so aggrieved?” An Hao caught sight of Lin Qiushu’s ever-changing expressions and suddenly wanted to gossip about how Yan Ye took her home that day, ”Qiushu, did Yan Ye take you home?”

”Yes,” Lin Qiushu was straightforward, saying whatever was on her mind, ”He carried me down the stairs and rode me home on a bike.”

”What, you think our Mr. Yan is too poor? He’s a rare good man, and you’ll regret missing out...”

”A matchless good man every thousand years? I didn’t notice! The guy has no idea of romance. At least he should have held me like Captain Qin holds you...” In Lin Qiushu’s eyes, that was the symbol of romance.

”Are you unhappy just because of that?” An Hao said with a laugh, ”He’s been on the rescue medical team, and his arms have been injured. He probably worried about dropping you halfway...”

”That makes sense...” Lin Qiushu’s lips curved into a smile.

...

By the evening, Qin Jian and An Hao returned to the military district compound.

Having not seen her child the whole day, An Hao was already missing him very much. She had just reached the door and was about to knock when it opened, and An Ping came out holding a child, grinning broadly to reveal two rows of shiny big teeth, ”Sister, you’re back? I’ve been waiting for you all day.”

”Is something the matter?” An Hao asked as she took the child.

”It’s an emergency call.”
