Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1095: Chapter 1095: The Brother-in-law Got Arrested

The hands were held, the lips were kissed, the embrace was shared, all that was missing was the wedding night.

Niu Shanshan, her face flushed, told him that if he was willing, she was willing to become his woman ahead of time.

It was An Ping who hesitated, not daring to break through her last line of defense.

He had previously promised An Hao that he would wait until she had vetted him before moving on to anything else.

”Oh, come on, can’t you just decide already?” Niu Shanshan was getting impatient, ”What kind of man are you if you don’t even understand this sort of thing?”

”Fine!” An Ping gritted his teeth and made up his mind to go through with it.

”That’s more like it. Hurry up and eat, there’s another show in twenty minutes. We need to make it quick,” urged Niu Shanshan.

The three of them hurriedly shoveled food into their mouths.

After paying the bill, they followed Niu Shanshan out.

They walked through a long alley and arrived at a decrepit street, where Niu Shanshan led them to an abandoned movie theater and they went up to the second floor.

Outside the private room, they could hear exaggerated moaning from a woman and the heavy breathing of a man, a huge shock to the young guys.

All three were itching with excitement in an instant.

”Three people?” The boss stood at the door selling tickets, he took a drag from his cigarette and said, ”Ten bucks a person. Thirty for three.”

”What? You might as well be robbing me,” An Ping exclaimed at the steep price and turned to leave.

”Wait, wait, the price can be negotiated. How about eight?” Niu Shanshan pulled them back, ”Eight is not expensive.”

”Ten bucks for three people,” Wang Erzhu gave a flat rate, ”Otherwise, we’re not watching. Might as well go back to the village and watch the dogs in heat.”

”Okay then, it’s tough to do business these days. Ten it is,” the boss agreed.

An Ping paid the money and took Erzhu and Liu Xiaolian to watch the movie.

When Niu Shanshan saw that there was no one at the door, he stretched out his hand to the boss, ”My cut.”

The boss handed over three bucks, ”Bring more people! I guarantee you will not be shortchanged.”

”Alright, but you better be careful, especially with the recent crackdowns. Don’t let anyone catch you. If the police bust this place, our money-making route is done for,” Niu Shanshan said.

The boss was tired of listening to Niu Shanshan’s nagging, his ears practically growing calluses: ”Alright, I got it, now go pull in some more customers.”

The chill of early spring was biting.

Even though it was March, the air was still cold, and the wind felt like icy knives against the skin.

On the training field.

Qin Jian, dressed in a thin camouflage uniform, was undergoing grueling training along with all the other warriors.

From the building behind the training field, Zhang Jianguo, with his hands clasped behind his back and a meaningful smile playing on his lips, watched the soldier he had brought up himself, the one he was most proud of.

”Four hundred meters obstacle sprint. One minute and fifty-eight seconds,” Hen Zhiyuan had appeared behind Zhang Jianguo at some point, watching the lively figure and couldn’t help but remark, ”He’s broken his own record again. To be young is truly wonderful!”

Zhang Jianguo turned around and glanced at Hen Zhiyuan, ”You seem to know quite a lot about him.”

Hen Zhiyuan laughed heartily, ”He is the pride of the Northern Military Region! It’s only right for me to take an interest, isn’t it, Commander?”

As they were talking, a communications soldier approached and saluted Zhang Jianguo, reporting, ”Sir, there’s a call from the city police department! A man named An Ping claims to be the Chief of Staff’s brother-in-law! They’re specifically asking for the Chief of Staff to come and address the trouble his brother-in-law has caused.”
