Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1080: Chapter 1080: Purging the Enemies Around

An Hao had described the general situation to Yan Ye once.

”This Ruan Fangfang really thinks too highly of herself,” Yan Ye, who always held a rigorous attitude towards medicine, could not tolerate even the slightest carelessness from his staff. It could be said that there were no particularly irresponsible doctors in his department.

Ruan Fangfang was an exception.

”Professor Yan, as the head of the cardiology department, you have complete control over the hiring of an intern. Why then did you leave her issue to be dealt with by the dean?” An Hao was somewhat puzzled by this.

”She isn’t from our Military Medical University. Ruan Fangfang must have some backing, so if we really decide to not keep her, the issue of her stay must be left to the dean,” Yan Ye explained to her.

”I see,” An Hao seemed to understand a bit more now.

”What was the other incident?” Yan Ye inquired further. As the manager of the cardiology branch, he had the right to know.

”Ruan Shuangshuang had secretly switched a patient’s medication, replacing penicillin with amoxicillin without conducting a skin test, causing the patient to have a nearly fatal acute allergic reaction. I was involved in the emergency response. All the prescription documents from that medical mishap have been preserved. There’s substantial evidence.”

Yan Ye was surprised, ”Why didn’t you tell me at the time?”

”At the time, Ma Mei was the duty doctor, and she was sound asleep throughout her shift. That was also a mistake on her part! Afterward, they begged me not to spread word. So... I was just giving Ruan Fangfang a chance,” she said.

”Why do you now suddenly seem ready to completely get rid of her?” This was not An Hao’s usual style, and it was the issue Yan Ye was most concerned about.

”I’m only trying to clear away my enemies,” An Hao said with a light sigh.

”Your enemies?” Yan Ye couldn’t help but laugh, ”Could her skills really pose any threat to you?”

”It’s not that kind of threat,” An Hao paused, then said through clenched teeth to Yan Ye, ”That Ruan Shuangshuang once hired someone to cripple my right hand!”

To be ignorant was one thing.

But now that she knew, she couldn’t just sit idly by.

She couldn’t wait to become the next Cheng Yu and push her into an irreparable abyss. Absolutely not!

”Was there really such a thing?” Yan Ye was shocked again.

He had always immersed himself solely in medicine and never delved into the human heart.

He had always thought that schools and hospitals were very pure places, but he never imagined that even such places had their filth.

”I heard it with my own ears,” An Hao said calmly. ”Both publicly and privately, I should make her leave.”

”You did nothing wrong,” Yan Ye’s gaze fell on An Hao’s face; his look was somewhat playful, ”Sometimes I wonder, are you really only twenty-two years old? I feel like you’re as if you’ve lived more than your age.”

An Hao was taken aback for a moment, then curled her lips into a smile, ”Professor Yan, you’re right! I have indeed lived through this once before! I am reincarnated!”

Yan Ye also chuckled, ”That’s quite the joke.”

An Hao smiled as she stood up, ”If there’s nothing else, Professor Yan, I’ll be going now.”

”Sure. Wait for me when you get off work today. You’ve just made an enemy! Be careful; she might be waiting to retaliate mid-way.”

”Then thank you, Professor Yan.” An Hao turned and walked toward the door, suddenly feeling dizzy, her vision darkened, and she quickly braced herself against the doorframe.

”What’s wrong?” Yan Ye saw her complexion was a bit pale and walked over to support her, ”How are you feeling?”
