Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1061: Chapter 1061: A Hopeless Case

”I know, I know,” Li Junping hesitated for a while and spoke somewhat apologetically, ”Could you please let Qin Fen work in your family’s vegetable garden? It’s close to home, isn’t it?”

No wonder she was helping to find him a job—it turned out this was her plan.

”Mom, I can’t decide that!” An Hao said. ”The vegetable garden is operated by my dad and my brother. It’s up to them to decide.”

”Look, can you just let him try working there for a while? Even if he doesn’t do well and you have to let him go. I really have no other option! I can’t just watch him waste away like this! Please, take pity on me! I guarantee he won’t cause any trouble for your family,” Li Junping almost begged.

An Hao felt troubled; this was what she feared the most.

After all, Liu Junping had put it this way—if she got involved, An Hao truly worried that it might cause endless troubles later on.

Qin Ru Hai, who had been sitting aside smoking a dry pipe, saw An Hao’s dilemma, and interrupted Li Junping to prevent her from continuing: ”Don’t you know the kind of person your own son is? Whether he’ll work properly at An Family’s place is questionable! Don’t make it difficult for An Hao.”

”So should we just watch him actually become a useless person?” Being physically disabled is one thing, but he shouldn’t be mentally broken too.

”Go out and find a job,” Qin Ru Hai agreed with An Hao’s suggestion. ”A fully abled man, why should he leech off at home?”

”I’m just worried that he’ll mess around outside. And that Song Yueqin is also a handful! If only one of them had some prospects, I wouldn’t need to suffer like this every day,” Li Junping lamented, patting her chest.

Poor parents the world over!

An Hao could understand Li Junping’s feelings, but she didn’t agree with her approach: ”Mom! Qin Fen has to come to this realization on his own! Otherwise, even if you pave his path with gold, he won’t succeed if he doesn’t make an effort.”

After An Hao finished speaking, Li Junping’s expression clearly became upset: ”Yes. My son is a failure! So is my daughter! That’s why I keep begging you! Can’t you just help Qin Fen like you helped Qin Feng? Even though you have a grudge against Song Yueqin, Qin Fen has done nothing to you! Your life is going well, you can’t just ignore your brother-in-law!”

”Mom! Saying that really hurts me!” Hadn’t she been the one worrying about everything since Qin Fen got married?

When the wedding couldn’t proceed, wasn’t it she who stepped in and financed it?

Just moments ago, she had even saved Qin Fen’s life!

Yet all she got in return was this sentence, which was absolutely disheartening.

As Li Junping went off on more tangents, even Qin Ru Hai found her words unpleasant to the ear, and he scolded her softly, ”Listen to what you’re saying! It’s so disheartening! How many things has An Hao managed for our family? How can you be so ungrateful? Even if An Hao didn’t manage our family’s mess, who would have the right to criticize?”

Realizing she was too eager and might have spoken harshly, Li Junping quickly apologized to An Hao, ”Don’t be like me! I’m just anxious! Qin Feng turned out that way, Qin Fen is disappointing, and my wife is so problematic! She’s almost dead because of her foolish actions!”

An Hao naturally understood Li Junping’s feelings, but these words still made her somewhat uncomfortable.
