Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1053: Chapter 1053: Are You a Man? Go!

”Dad, Dad! It’s New Year’s, can we not talk about this?” An Ping knew An Hao’s heart was aching, given a living person had seemingly disappeared without a trace, indeed a worrying situation.

”Okay! I won’t talk about it anymore, let’s eat!” An Shuchao said.

But no matter how delicious the food was, at that moment it seemed to lose its flavor in their mouths.

An Ping saw that the atmosphere at the dining table was somewhat cold, so he tapped his chopsticks on the table, ”Can you all stop being like this? Who knows, maybe in a moment my brother-in-law will swing the door open, and say to you, ’Wife, I’m back!’”

”Really?” Tears vaguely shimmered in An Hao’s eyes.

”Of course...” An Ping hadn’t finished speaking when suddenly the door banged open.

Everyone turned their heads towards the door. Under the vast night sky, the howling northern wind swept up the snowflakes, and that familiar figure stood there like a pine tree, his resolute face wearing a faint smile.

Clatter!

An Hao’s chopsticks fell from her hand, disbelieving the scene before her eyes.

”Brother-in-law! You’re back!” An Ping said excitedly, ”You see, I didn’t say a single wrong thing, did I?”

”Yeah! You little rascal, today you finally spoke a pleasing word.” An Shuchao also happily slapped his shoulder, ”Now we’re all together! We can joyfully enjoy our reunion meal.”

Qin Jian stared into An Hao’s eyes, moved his lips and said, ”Wife! I’m back!”

”Uh-huh!” An Hao’s eyes turned red, and tears began to steadily drip down her cheeks.

”You two are still looking at each other tearfully? Just embrace!” An Ping cheered from the side, ”Brother-in-law! Are you man enough? Go on!”

As soon as An Ping finished speaking, Qin Jian opened his arms widely, and An Hao got up and stepped into his embrace.

Tears drenched his clothes as An Hao sobbed, ”You promised you’d come back, yet there was no news from you! I’ve been on edge for so many days, unable to tell anyone, unable to show it on my face. It’s really been exhausting.”

Qin Jian held her tightly, his large hand caressing her back, ”I’ve officially been reassigned to the Northern Military Region! I won’t be leaving again! We will never be separated again.”

”Uh-huh!” An Hao nodded vigorously.

”Brother-in-law! You’re finally back! These days, you’ve had my sister worrying sick!” An Ping said cheerily, ”To punish you, you have to down three drinks first.”

”Okay.” Qin Jian did not hesitate, picking up the glass and downing three drinks in a row.

After setting down the glass, he poured another, raised it with both hands to An Shuchao, ”Dad! I came back late! Sorry for making you worry!”

”You’re a soldier! A soldier has his duties! We all understand! Come on, today is New Year’s Eve! Let’s happily have our meal.” An Shuchao filled his own glass to the brim and clinked glasses with his son-in-law.

Just then, An Ping stood up, went into his room, and soon came back out, holding a package, ”Come on! This is my big gift for you.”

”What gift?” An Hao was puzzled, the suspense was quite deep.

He had mentioned it long ago, but only brought it out today.

This kid knew how to keep his cool, his ability to keep a poker face was unmatched.

He opened the package, and inside were slices of meat. Before An Hao could get a clear look, he started swiftly placing them into the pot.

”What is this?” An Hao picked up a slice, examining it from left to right.

”Don’t look! Don’t look! Just eat it when it’s cooked!” An Ping
