Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1087: Chapter 1087: Disgusting Taste

The sky outside had darkened, and she had actually slept from morning until evening.

”You’re awake!” Qin Jian pushed the door open and came in.

”Yes. I can’t believe I slept for so long.” An Hao shook her slightly dizzy head and rolled out of bed.

”The doctor said you are severely lacking rest. That’s why this happened,” Qin Jian said with concern. ”What kind of place is General Surgery? They’ve worn you out like this.”

”It’ll get better after this period. I feel my strength has indeed declined. This isn’t scientific; I need to find out why.” Otherwise, how could he continue being a surgeon?

Without a strong physique, it simply won’t do.

”The reason is you’re too exhausted! You need rest. I have already requested a week off for you. For this week, you can’t do anything but sleep and eat!”

”What? Who allowed you to make decisions for me?” An Hao became somewhat angry when she heard this. ”Tomorrow I’m going to cancel the leave. Now is a critical time for my internship! How can I rest?”

”You don’t care about your health?” Qin Jian frowned, his eyes showing a hint of sparks.

It was the first time he had gotten angry with his little wife!

Her healthy body had turned into such a wreck since she joined General Surgery.

And she still insisted on not resting!

How could he not be angry!

An Hao was angry and noticed that Qin Jian seemed upset as well.

His voice was restrained, but An Hao could hear the anger within it.

She knew Qin Jian meant well, and felt it was too inappropriate to lose her temper at him in this way.

So she gently hugged Qin Jian, burying her head in his chest, and mumbled, ”I’m sorry! It wasn’t on purpose! Don’t be mad, let’s do as you say.”

Seeing that An Hao realized her mistake, Qin Jian’s anger subsided. He held her around the waist and said, ”In my heart, nothing is more important than your health! If I had to choose between your career and your health, I would choose the latter.”

”I know.” An Hao appeased him, tiptoed up to kiss him, ”I won’t make you angry anymore! I promise to take good care of my health.”

”That’s more like it?” Qin Jian gently pecked her lips. ”I’m still waiting for you to make me a father! Without a healthy body, how could it be possible?”

”Mmm.” Then there was nothing to do but nod.

Zhang Yun’s voice came from downstairs, calling them both to come down to eat.

Only then did Qin Jian end his lecture to An Hao.

At the dining table, Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun were already seated, and in the center of the table was a large pot of chicken soup.

As they came down, Zhang Yun stood up, poured a bowl of chicken soup, and placed it in front of An Hao.

”Come on, drink it while it’s hot. Look at how pale you’ve become recently.”

”Thanks, Mom!” she said, picking up the bowl.

She had just scooped a spoonful of chicken soup, ready to drink, when she felt something nauseating about the taste.

So she put the spoon down.

”What’s wrong? Doesn’t it taste good?” Seeing her frown, Zhang Yun asked.

”Ugh. It smells a bit off.” An Hao pinched her nose.

Zhang Yun leaned down to sniff the soup in the bowl: ”There’s no fishy smell. I think it smells quite good. Don’t believe me? You guys smell it too?”

Ning Yibin and Qin Jian both sniffed the soup in front of them, and both shook their heads: ”It smells like authentic chicken soup.”

”Hurry up and drink! I made it specially for you! To nourish your body! If you keep wearing yourself down like this, your little body really might collapse.” As she spoke, Zhang Yun found a few nice pieces of chicken and added them to An Hao’s soup.
