Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1093: Chapter 1093: Visiting Relatives in the City

”That’s fantastic. When you visit the gravesite, tell your mom about this too, so she can share the joy,”

”Sure. I’ll visit my mom’s grave tomorrow.” An Ping said as he passed the wine glass to An Shuchao, ”Pour me one too! I’m really happy for my sister, her husband is of an age now, and finally, he can become a dad. Are your worries finally eased now?”

An Shuchao took a bite of his food and spoke while chewing, ”Eased? Not a chance! We still haven’t seen a trace of your wife. Right now, I can only say I’m relieved about your sister! From now on, it’s time to worry about you. The An Family doesn’t have a future heir yet, so you better seriously date someone for a couple of years, then marry a daughter-in-law to bear a child for the An Family soon!”

”It’ll happen soon, don’t worry! Stop fussing about needless things.” An Ping patted his father on the back and poured himself another glass of wine, ”Dad, didn’t you say you wanted to visit my sister in the city? When do you plan on going?”

An Shuchao counted the days.

In the next few days, a batch of vegetables was ready to leave the greenhouse, and customers from various units would also come to pull them; it’d probably take about four to five days to wrap up.

”How about this, go on Saturday. It’s also your sister’s day off! You can see her then.”

”I thought you were going, Dad? Why has it changed to me now?” An Ping casually asked.

”I’m getting old, I don’t know my way around the city. You’re young, it’s perfect—you can visit your sister and take a look around the city, seek out some business opportunities! This spring, I’ve seen many houses in the neighboring village starting to grow greenhouse vegetables. When everyone crowds into one trade, soon it won’t be profitable. We’ve expanded our business so much and invested a lot; we can afford to earn but definitely can’t afford to lose,” An Shuchao was also worried about the business.

After all, his son would need money to get married.

They had been in the greenhouse vegetable business for a few years now and had started getting the hang of it, but they couldn’t let other farms drive theirs into the ground.

”Alright. I’ll follow your advice. I’ll go on Saturday.”

After being busy for several days, An Ping finally had free time on Saturday. He cleaned himself up, put on the clothes An Hao had bought for him, and felt quite like a city dweller when he looked at himself in the mirror.

The weather was also nice that day, so An Ping put on the sunglasses he had bought at the town market, and must say, he looked pretty handsome.

Wang Erzhu and Liu Xiaolian came to An Ping’s house to find him, but seeing him dressed up, they were puzzled.

”What’s up? Are you going to meet a girl?”

”An Ping is now a big boss, he doesn’t need to meet girls. Any young woman who sees him flushes with excitement. I bet he’s probably going to meet Niu Shanshan!”

”Wrong!” An Ping pushed his sunglasses up to his forehead and said, ”I’m going to the city to see my sister. Also, to survey the market. These past few years, more have been growing greenhouse vegetables, and competition for customers is pretty headache-inducing.”

As soon as he mentioned surveying the market in the city, Wang Erzhu and Liu Xiaolian also wanted to join, ”Take us with you?”

”Why would I take you two?”

”Don’t forget, we specifically help you expand your market! Using the city folks’ terms, that’s... sales managers...yes, exactly!” Liu Xiaolian’s mind was quick; he remembered what he had heard and used it just
