Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1063: Chapter 1063: Being Improper Is Normal

Qin Jian took off his coat, rubbed his ice-cold hands together, and slid under An Hao’s covers.

”Ah! You’re so cold! Get out quickly.” An Hao’s warm and toasty cocoon was suddenly invaded by the chill.

”I’m not going out.” Qin Jian embraced her tightly, ”Now you warm me up, and later I’ll repay you with passion.”

”Don’t!” An Hao squirmed and struggled.

”Be good, listen up! Let me hold you.” Qin Jian domineeringly pulled her into his arms, and after An Hao struggled a bit, she stopped moving.

Seeing her quiet down, Qin Jian reached out to smooth her messy hair and asked, ”I heard mom made you angry today?”

”She talked to you?” An Hao looked up at him.

”Mhm. She didn’t say why. Tell me what happened?”

An Hao huffed and said, ”Your mom wants Qin Fen to work in my family’s vegetable garden! I didn’t agree, so she criticized me, saying I live a good life and should still care about my brother-in-law’s wellbeing. She even said it’s as if I have a grudge against Song Yueqin, I still shouldn’t ignore Qin Fen.”

”Did she really say that?” Qin Jian frowned, ”If that’s the case, she really shouldn’t have!”

”They are your foster parents! You respect them, and I’ve been wholeheartedly good to them. And what do I get? I end up the villain either way.” An Hao said angrily.

Besides, why should she bear all of Qin Jian’s burdens?

”She spoke without thinking.” Qin Jian said casually.

”What do you mean spoke without thinking? Your mom isn’t just anybody; she’s very adaptable! I didn’t see through her before, but now I understand. It turns out her kindness to me was all an investment! It’s all about paving the way for Qin Feng and Qin Fen.” An Hao became increasingly disheartened the more she thought about it.

”That’s not the way to talk about it. She’ll remember the good you do for her,” Qin Jian tried to console An Hao, aiming to mend the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship.

”Really?” Anyway, the conversation that afternoon left An Hao feeling cold inside, ”How come I feel like I’m just her investment? Look, when Qin Fen is in trouble, it’s set up so I can’t refuse to help! Oh, right, there’s also that bracelet! I might as well return it to her, to avoid any future...”

An Hao’s chatter was ceaseless, and Qin Jian knew this wasn’t the time to persuade, as it might make her feel even more aggrieved.

So, he said nothing, just listened and when An Hao’s words got too outrageous, he leaned down and took her lips in his.

”Mmm... what are you doing...” An Hao’s unfinished protest was silenced by him.

She struggled a few times, but never managed to push Qin Jian away, so she let him have his way in the end.

After kissing her for a while, Qin Jian saw that she had calmed down and then he released her, ”Feeling a bit better now?”

”Hmph!” An Hao turned her head away, muttering softly, ”Don’t think I’ll cool off just because you pull the handsome guy trick on me.”

”No?” Qin Jian raised an eyebrow, and started unbuttoning his shirt, ”It seems this level of effort isn’t satisfying my little wife...”

”Ouch! Okay, enough. How could you be so shameless! I never realized you were such a flirt.” An Hao turned back to glare at him.

”There are three hundred and sixty-five days in a year, and I spend far too few of them with you! Facing the woman of my dreams, if I act indifferent, I’d probably really be sick,” Qin Jian caressed An Hao’s cheek and concluded, ”Being frivolous is normal, so being serious would actually be abnormal.”
