“Senior Brother Bosun, the upper echelon of the Demon Court is empty right now. Please… take charge of the situation.” An unexpected request echoed beside Bosun’s ears, and it caused his expression to shift several times in a row.

“Me? Take charge?” Eyes wide in surprise, Bosun frowned and asked, “According to the memories you just transferred to me, aren’t experts like Lord Golden Monkey, and Lady Immortal Osmanthus still in the Demon Court? With them present, why would I need to take command? Besides, didn’t Eldest Sister Nine Tails and the others choose Successors?”

“There is White Fox, who succeeded her, and Dark Tiger who is  the second strongest of the Tiger Clan, who succeeded White Tiger. Can’t they lead the Demon Court?” He laid it all out clearly, his sharp mind grasping the core of the matter instantly.

“Uh…” A pause followed, as though the other party was trying to find the right words.

After a while, Shea finally replied, “Lord Golden Monkey and Lady Osmanthus have both made it clear they will no longer interfere with Demon Court affairs. As for the White Fox, Dark Tiger, and the others, although they’ve accepted the titles of the Second Generation Divine Beasts… they lack the experience to lead such a massive force. One by one, all of them had chosen to step back from making decisions on the matter of the Demon Court. According to Dark Tiger himself: ‘Send me into battle, I’ll fight to the death. But ask me to govern the Demon Court? I’m not the one for that.’”

Hearing this, Bosun’s corner of eyes couldn’t help but twitch.

Still, he understood: Dark Tiger and the others weren’t shirking from the responsibility, they simply didn’t dare to take charge.

The Demon Court was too massive now.

One wrong move, and the entire structure could collapse.

A tiny little decision could affect billions of lives.

Faced with that kind of burden, it was only natural that both Dark Tiger and White Fox would back down.

Moreover, the deeper issue was that their leadership would be in name only.

After all, the Supreme Lord of the Demon Court already had Disciples.

As long as the three Disciples remained, the others would not dare overstep their boundaries, lest they disrupt harmony among the ranks.

Considering all this, Bosun couldn’t help but sigh helplessly.

Finally, he asked in a calm yet deep voice, “Before Master left… I assume he asked you to take charge of the Demon Court?”

“Yes…” Shea nodded her affirmation. She did not deny it.

However, a second later, she gave a sheepish smile and confessed, “But, Senior Brother… if you ask me to kill someone, I’ll immediately lead the way. But to govern the Demon Court’s inner workings? I fear I’m not up to the task.”

As she spoke, a prismatic glow flickered in her eyes.

Immediately, accompanied by a thunderous roar, everything around them froze, even the very air.

As for Bosun, powerful as he was, couldn’t help but shiver. [This Junior Sister of mine really is a monster…]

He had taken quite a blow, not just by Shea’s strength, but by the fact that he had no excuse to decline.

He was the Second Disciple of the Demon Court’s Supreme Lord, by position and identity, it fell on him to shoulder this responsibility.

Besides, Shea was a warrior, not a general. Expecting her to manage civil and political affairs was pushing her too far. As for his Senior Sister, Shalira, the Zerg Queen, she might be qualified, but she was still undergoing the Twelve Trials of the Elements.

If he, the Second Disciple, continued to stand idle… then the Demon Court might really descend into chaos. And that was something neither Golden Monkey, Osmanthus, nor even their Master would accept.

So…

*Haaaa…* With a long sigh, Bosun rose from the Pool of Immortality, and finally accepted that task, “Until Senior Sister returns to the Demon Court, I’ll assume temporary command. But, I’ll manage the internal affairs, and you’ll be managing the external affairs. If anything happens out in the stars, you’re free to make decisions as you see fit.”

He paused, then added, “I’ve only just returned to the Demon Court. There’s much I don’t know. Send word to gather the Second Generation Divine Beasts and notify Lord Golden Monkey and Lady Osmanthus. Let them know that I’m back.”

“Alright.” A soft smile spread across Shea’s face, and she exhaled in relief.

Truthfully, she was never the ideal candidate to lead the Demon Court. That role had always belonged to her Senior Brother or Senior Sister. After all, both of them had real experience in leading huge forces: One commanded the massive colonies of Zergs, and the other ruled over the Blood Demon Clan.

…

However, at that very moment, unbeknownst to both Bosun and Shea, as they were catching up, far away in a remote corner of the Celestial Realm, Golden Monkey stood quietly beneath a towering Sweet Osmanthus Tree…

“Bosun, that little fellow… he’s finally returned.” A soft chuckle escaped his lips, and a look of anticipation spread across Golden Monkey’s face.

“In terms of cultivation or talent, Bosun isn’t at the very top but when it comes to leadership… he’s unexpectedly outstanding. His return comes just in time to put out the fire burning beneath the Demon Court’s feet.”

“En.” Hearing Osmanthus’ remark, Golden Monkey too nodded in agreement.

Yet in the next breath, as if he had suddenly sensed something, a gleam of intrigue flickered in the depths of Golden Monkey’s eyes. Then, in a faint voice, he added, “Still… don’t underestimate Bosun’s talent.”

“Oh? What do you mean?”

“When it comes to cultivating Spiritual Energy, he may not be as good as top prodigies, but in the Dao of Six Desires, though it may not be peerless, that boy is still a raw gem. He just might become the next Demon Venerable of Six Desires…”

Stated Golden Monkey in a voice filled with awe. As someone who had seen countless talents across the ages, Golden Monkey had discovered the greatest aspect of Bosun.

In just a few short decades, Bosun had already achieved an intermediate mastery in the Dao of Six Desires.

Furthermore, he had refined six Spiritual Forms, each carrying one of the Six Desires. This was a feat so astonishing that it sent shivers down the spine.

To put it simply, although Bosun’s Spiritual Energy cultivation put him in the ranks of Half-Step Overlords, his mastery of the Six Desires was such that even ordinary Tier-6 would hesitate to cross his path.

That was the true terror of the Demonic Dao of Six Desires.

It invaded the heart, confused the mind, shook one’s very Dao Heart…

Back in the day, even the great Shakyamuni Buddha himself had once faced a formidable adversary who had achieved advance mastery in this very path: the Sixth Heavenly Demon King, Paranirmitavasavartin Deva.

The Dao of Six Desires was such a terrifying Dao that even the pillar of the Buddhist Sect, Shakyamuni Buddha, had nearly succumbed to its power.

And thus, it came to be known as a true Demonic Dao.

It should be brought to notice that the Buddhist Sect cultivates the heart. They sever the Six Desires to attain clarity and purity of the mind.

And yet, even such a lineage…

*Hee* Golden Monkey smirked, his eyes glowing with deep anticipation.

Among Yu Zi Yu’s three Disciples…It was Bosun, the Second Disciple, whom he placed the greatest hopes in.
