The Kun Peng Clan had always maintained an exceedingly low-profile.

On rare occasions, news of them surfaced, and that too usually when a world-shaking prodigy walks the cosmos and stuns the world.

Still… not a single race dared forget how terrifying this Clan truly was.

In ancient times, during the glory days of the ‘Ancient Heavenly Court,’ the Imperial Advisor himself was a member of the Kun Peng Clan.

That alone spoke volumes of their fearsome power.

And now, a member of this Clan had arrived too.

As those massive wings, blanketing the very Heaven, unfurled, they blotted out the stars and shattered the very fabric of space.

However, this was not the might of an Imperial Artifact. It was the famed and dreadful Grand Divine Ability of the Kun Peng Clan, the Kun Peng Art.

The heritage of Superior Clans were not limited to imperial Artifacts.

The Kun Peng Clan, for instance, reigned supreme not through Artifacts, but through their terrifying mastery of Divine Ability.

In every era, should a prodigy of the Kun Peng Clan emerge, it was almost certain they would have mastered this devastating Grand Divine Ability, becoming an unrivaled being of their time.

Such was the Kun Peng Clan: a low-key, yet an ancient and terrifying race.

“Hmm… Even the Kun Peng Clan has sent forth a powerhouse…” murmured Yu Zi Yu, a glint of surprise flickering in his eyes.

This was no ordinary Clan. This was one of the oldest and most mysterious in existence.

However, what really caught Yu Zi Yu’s attention was the Kun Peng Art displayed before him. A legendary offensive-type ability of boundless power. It was savage and unrestrained in force, its might defied all imagination.

Just like now…

*Screeeeech!* A piercing, vicious screech echoed from the Ninth Heaven above.

The Kun Peng spread its wings, bolts of lightning surged like a vast ocean, flooding an entire quadrant of the starry sky.

Its majesty and destructive power made countless experts across the Myriad Races feel their scalps go numb.

“That’s the famed Grand Divine Ability of the Kun Peng Clan…”

“Indeed, and not just any art, but a legendary offensive Divine Ability… utterly terrifying…”

…

Cries of astonishment rippled through the battlefield, as all eyes locked on that colossal, golden figure ascending through the stars.

This… was the true strength of the Kun Peng Clan.

One move was enough to steal the attention of every powerhouse present.

Even the Dragon and Phoenix Clans could not compare, at least not in this moment.

And this Kun Peng prodigy… was utterly formidable.

From the looks of it, its mastery of the Kun Peng Art had already reached the intermediate-level.

As it ascended skyward, a giant bird emerged from the golden light, its massive claws reaching straight for the canopy of the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree.

Surprisingly, this Kun Peng was actually intended to capture the entire Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree in one go.

*Hmph…* The Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree, on the other hand, let out a thunderous snort, and didn’t back down either.

Her countless branches twined with each other into a massive hand, slapping toward the golden claw reaching from Heaven.

*Boooooom…* A thunderous blast instantly echoed through the stars.

Mighty as the Divine Tree was, she still trembled slightly.

However, it was not just because of the Kun Peng prodigy’s strength.

It was because, at that very moment, Ni Shang and the Dream Dragon had unleashed attacks of their own, each empowered by Imperial Artifacts, and struck her simultaneously, tearing through the starry sky.

The Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree, after all, had rarely engaged in true battle.

Unlike the Dragons and Phoenixes, who had clawed their way to power through mountains of corpses and oceans of blood, her combat experience was sorely lacking.

Just because of a single miscalculation, she had already suffered consecutive blows.

A suppressed groan escaped the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree, her energy a bit unstable and chaotic.

At this moment, when she looked about herself, to her dismay, she found herself surrounded by no fewer than eight Imperial Artifacts.

And worse still, the Kun Peng Clan’s peerless prodigy was bearing down upon her.

However, this was still not a cause of worry for her.

[So long as that little one doesn’t personally act… I can still afford to play with them for a while.] Smiling coldly in her heart, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree remained particularly wary of Yu Zi Yu.

Only those who had truly paid attention to Yu Zi Yu would understand how terrifying he had become.

In a mere century, he had risen to such unimaginable heights.

Truly, it was terrifying.

Compared to him, the so-called ‘prodigies’ of other Clans seemed utterly dull.

And Yu Zi Yu… was the one opponent the Divine Tree feared most.

Barring none—he was the most terrifying.

Alone, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree could fight against the Myriad Races’ strongest. She had at least a fifty percent chance of victory.

But if Yu Zi Yu joined the fray, there would be no doubt she would die, without a sliver of survival.

And that was something she couldn’t help.

The more one understood Yu Zi Yu, the more one realized how terrifying he truly was.

Imperial Artifacts? He had long since refined them in secret.

Grand Divine Abilities? He had mastered not one but two.

His physical body had even undergone seven evolutions.

He had even touched upon a Supreme Principle…

For others, gaining just one of these would be enough to dominate the world.

But him? He had it all.

As for how the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree knew all of this… it was naturally due to the Great Tribulation. In those moments of absolute clarity, she had glimpsed deeper truths, things she had never seen before.

And now, when she looked at Yu Zi Yu… all she saw was terror. True, existential terror.

A Dragon of the Heavenly Dao, an Innate Sacred Spirit, accompanied him on his right. A Soaring Purple Dragon, carrying the ‘Supreme Principle of Infinity,’ slumbered at his left. And behind him, a faint silhouette wielding a purple bow flickered in and out of the void.

As for himself, a towering Willow rooted among the stars, nine stars revolved around him, and upon his back, he bore a vast world.

One body yet three forms. It was extremely mystical and profound. This was all thanks to the Grand Divine Ability: One Qi Transforms into Three Pure Ones. Though incomplete, Yu Zi Yu’s master of it had already reached the intermediate-level.

However, the most terrifying of all… was the nine stars revolving around him.

Mysterious beyond words, divine beyond comprehension.

It was a Grand Divine Ability no one had ever seen before.

*Hoooo…* Exhaling a long breath, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree couldn’t help but want to tell her True Body, the original avatar slumbering in the Tree Heart she had left with Yu Zi Yu. [Master… it’s not just me. Even you underestimated this little one…]

But she could no longer say it.

That being was now asleep. And she herself… would not remain in this world for too long.

And so, Yu Zi Yu’s true terror… would be known to no other.

With a bitter smile, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree’s will to fight only surged higher.

[Even in death, let it be glorious!]

With a booming laugh in her heart, her Spiritual Energy erupted, more terrifying than ever.

…

But just then, her expression suddenly changed.

Because at that moment, an ancient monastery, no one knew when it had appeared, suddenly manifested above her canopy.

It was vast and sacred, bathed in dazzling radiance. Even the bricks and tiles sparkled with divine brilliance.

Faintly, a chanting of scriptures could be heard echoing out.

“What’s… that?” Shocked beyond belief, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree’s face changed dramatically.

And the reason? She recognized this terrifying Imperial Artifact.

It was the Great Thunderclap Monastery, the legendary Imperial Artifact of the Buddhis Sect.

And it was ‘legendary’ because this Imperial Artifact had long vanished from the annals of history.

Yet today, it had reappeared?

And not only that, but from its depths came a serene yet sacred voice, “Fellow Daoist, I see that you and my Buddha share a karmic affinity…”

As the words fell, waves of Buddhist chanting echoed across the void.

Even the powerful ones who were besieging the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree were affected. Flickers of confusion appeared deep in their eyes.

Conversion, it was the most ancient, most terrifying art of the Buddhist Sect.

If it succeeded, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree would become a puppet of Buddhism, doomed to study religious scriptures in a dull, solitary isolation.

And just like that, the world would lose an all-knowing Divine Tree, while the long-lost Buddhist Sect would gain a mighty guardian once more.
