Aside from the famed Dragon and Phoenix Clans, and the mighty Gods, countless other fearsome auras were stirring in the hidden corners of the starry sky…

After all, it wasn’t only the top-tier Forces that could nurture true powerhouses.

Even minor Forces or weaker races might produce individuals of great fortune, those capable of leaping into the ranks of top-class beings of the universe.

These kinds of powerhouses often walked alone, but each was bizarre and formidable in their own way.

In the Eastern Sector, one of the most infamous among them resided at the very edge of the starry void—a fearsome Star Beast who watched silently as the Dream Dragon headed for the Central Sector.

It had nine heads and wings so huge that they blanketed the vast Heavens.

And its visage, it was far more hideous and ferocious.

This was the Nine-Headed Bird, a being so fearsome that even the Dragon Clan held deep wariness toward it.

Though it was only at the Late-Stage Tier-6, its talent was so unnatural that few Dragons had ever gained the upper hand against it.

It was even rumored that Jormungandr, the Second Strongest of the Dragon Clan, also known as the Dragon of the End, had once suffered a major setback at its claws.

Now, after silently watching for a long time…the Nine-Headed Bird suddenly spread its wings wide.

*Boooooom…* In that instant, Phoenix cries echoed through the Heavens, as the starry sky was engulfed in blinding flames.

“The Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree… is quite the treasure,” it murmured with a grin, eyes gleaming with undisguised desire.

Why had the campaign against the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree drawn so many powerful beings?

It wasn’t just because the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree stood as an obstacle to cultivation.

It was also because the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree was itself a supreme treasure.

According to legend, among the Imperial Artifacts, there was one Artifact that was forged from the body of a past generation Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree, which ultimately became an Artifact of extraordinary power and fearsome reputation.

From that alone, it was clear how valuable this Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree was.

A being of such caliber… was on par with a masterless Imperial Artifact.

More importantly, even without any refinement, it was highly malleable.

Even its branches and leaves were supreme materials.

This was the true reason countless powerhouses had come swarming.

If one was lucky enough to seize its Quintessence, even becoming a Hegemon was not out of reach.

Thus, it wasn’t just the Dream Dragon of the Dragon Clan or the Seven-Colored Divine Phoenix of the Phoenix Clan; even lone feral beasts like the Nine-Headed Bird were vying for a piece of the pie.

What’s more, this campaign against the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree would be an excellent opportunity to witness all the powerhouses of the universe.

At that point, the Central Sector would be packed with the strong. Countless Imperial Artifacts would emerge.

Whoever could dominate a region or deter all challengers would practically cement their place in the cosmic hierarchy.

Back during the Era of the Gods, the King of the Gods had made his name during such a siege, earning astonishing war merits that secured the Gods’ stable rise for thousands, even tens of thousands of years.

At the time, the powerhouses of the stars all grew wary of the King of the Gods, and no one dared challenge the Gods for a long while.

Now… it seemed like history was repeating itself.

Once again, the time had come to launch a crusade against the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree…

…

*Hisssss…* Suddenly, a shrill hiss echoed—another powerhouse had shot into the starry depths.

Following the sound, a bizarre-looking creature appeared.

It had the body of an ordinary fish, but with a serpent’s tail and a head like a Mandarin Duck’s.

This was a member of the Tiger Flood Dragon Clan, a race with low population, but each one possessed terrifyingly strong combat prowess.

However, no one had expected a Tier- to emerge from such a race…

…

“So many powerful beings out here,” Yu Zi Yu sighed suddenly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he witnessed a variety of formidable figures on his journey through the stars.

Some of them… even made him slightly wary.

One in particular radiated unimaginable savagery, far beyond that of ordinary powerhouses.

And another resembled a canine-like creature with black wings upon its back…

“That must be a member of the Tengu Clan.”

With a smile in his heart, Yu Zi Yu was surprised to learn that such a race existed within the Western Sector.

The Tengu Clan was quite well-known.

Why? Because they were eaters of the Moon.

They thrived on devouring the power of the Lunar Energy.

And Lunar Energy, when intertwined together with Solar Energy, was the very force that nurtured life.

If a Tengu were to completely devour the Lunar Energy of the Moon revolving around a habitable planet, it would disrupt the balance between Yin and Yang. With only a lonely Sun and no Moon to temper it, the entire planet might fall into extinction.

Thus… this race had quite the notorious reputation.

Just now, an Intermediate-Stage Tier-6 Tengu had emerged from a Star System.

Unfortunately, an Intermediate Tier-6 was simply too weak in Yu Zi Yu’s eyes.

Even though they brushed past each other, the Tengu failed to even notice him.

“Haha…” Chuckling to himself, Yu Zi Yu once again flapped the radiant, golden wings on his back.

*Booooom…* In the blink of an eye, the starry sky seemed to come to a stand still, while his entire figure turned into a streak of golden light, shooting forward like a comet.

What Yu Zi Yu didn’t know, however, was that not long after he left, that very Tengu suddenly froze in place.

“Heavens…” Breathing heavily, the Tengu’s face had turned deathly pale, devoid of a single trace of color.

Just moments ago, a being beyond his comprehension had brushed past him.

And the scent of that being… was utterly terrifying.

Just by catching a whiff, the Tengu felt suffocated, a fearsome weight pressing down on his chest.

If he hadn’t pretended not to notice, he might very well have been slapped to death on the spot.

Just how terrifying was that entity?

Even his speed alone had reached a level where an Intermediate Tier 6 like him couldn’t even see him clearly.

As for his aura, it had fused with the very stars.

If not for the Tengu Clan’s exceptionally sensitive noses, capable of smelling myriad scents, he would never have even noticed that such a transcendent being had passed by.

Otherwise, he might have died without ever knowing that the Western Sector harbored such a terrifying powerhouse.

“Who the hell was that? His scent was so strange… there was the fragrance of the Angel Clan, the scent of the Divine Tree, and even more ridiculously, I caught a whiff of something that doesn’t belong to this universe…”

“Damn it… just what kind of monster is that?”

His expression shifted again and again as fear began creeping into the Tengu’s heart.

[Such a terrifying being…is also heading to the Central Sector? Then…what am I going there for? Won’t I…just be a…cannon fodder? Besides… a being like that could probably slap me to death… and I won’t even know who killed me!]

So, after a long contemplation, the Tengu finally made what he believed to be the smartest decision: He decisively retreated back into the very Star System he came from.

With monsters like that on the move, this was no longer a game he could afford to play.
