“The Buddhist Sect!”

“The Buddhist Sect has re-emerged!”

“How is that possible? Haven’t they vanished for two whole eras?”

…

Exclamations rippled through the cosmos, countless faces wore an expression of shock and astonishment, for the reappearance of the Buddhist Sect was nothing short of earth-shattering.

The Buddhist Sect was an ancient sect that had existed since the dawn of history.

Legend has it that it originated from the oldest era, the Primordial Era.

However, that was not the crucial part.

What mattered the most was that this sect apart from being extremely ancient, its power was also utterly terrifying.

In one era, that had even achieved the glory of having ‘Two Saints in One Sect.’

They had been basking in unparalleled prestige, their legacy spanning eras.

Had they not suddenly vanished two or three eras ago, their name would still resound above all others.

And now, they had returned.

And even more, they had summoned forth an Imperial Artifact, sending waves of dread through all the present here.

A hazy Buddha Light spread across the stars.

Within that light, even the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree seemed to grow calm, as if being purified and converted by the Buddhist radiance.

However, nothing could be done about it.

To forge his Innate Dharma Form, more than 90% of his mind and heart was on cultivation, leaving only a fraction to pay attention to his body.

While that was more than enough to move his body, it was not enough to resist the Buddhist Sect’s Light of Salvation.

And the powerhouse gathered here could see that clearly.

“Bald monk, how dare you!” A crisp voice, like thunderclap, reverberated. And in the next moment, the Dream Dragon, whose claws were holding the Sun and Moon, raised one massive talon and slammed it toward the grand, towering monastery in the void.

On the other side—

*Screeeeeh…* A Phoenix Cry echoed through the Heavens, as the Nine-Colored Divine Phoenix, under the control of Ni Shang, flapped its wings and launched a barrage of iridescent light at the ancient monastery.

*Boooom…Boooom…* Two resounding blasts rocked the monastery.

However, the Grand Thunderclap Monastery, being a defensive-type Imperial Artifact, was far from ordinary.

It endured the joint assault of two Imperial Artifacts without faltering.

That alone showed how terrifying this monastery truly was.

Moreover, the one controlling it was likely not weaker than the Dream Dragon or the Seven-Colored Phoenix.

Only someone of that caliber could exude such overwhelming dominance in the cosmos.

However, the fact remained the same, the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree could not be allowed to fall into the hands of the Buddhist Sect!

In the universe, there was no shortage of enemies.

If the Buddhist Sect managed to get their hands on a Hegemon as a guardian, and with Great Thunderclap Monastery standing firm, it was not impossible for them to once again rule the cosmos.

And that was something not even the Dragon or Phoenix Clans could permit, nor would the other races tolerate it.

…

“Buddhist Sect… You’re courting death!” A thunderous roar broke the silence.

It was the King of the Gods, who too stepped in, wielding a staff in his hand.

With each step, a wave of lightning spread across the void.

And as he moved, the black cloth that veiled his eyes gradually fell, revealing a single eye that shimmered with the mystery of Fate itself.

*Boooom…* Suddenly, a beam of divine light shot forth from that eye, slamming into the monastery and shaking its very foundation.

“The God Race…is truly fearsome,” a calm voice echoed from within the monastery, and then, a youth with an aura of serene majesty stepped into everyone’s sight.

His features were refined and elegant, like a clear spring.

A single red vermillion dot adorned the center of his forehead.

A gentle smile was plastered on his lips, and the starlight around him seemed to glow brighter.

He was a boy, yet more beautiful than most women.

This was the current number one figure of the Buddhist Sect, he went by the name Gyani.

“Fellow Daoist, you share a karmic affinity with Buddha. So, please forgive me for not being able to back down.” With a soft chuckle, he made a gesture of picking a flower, wearing a radiant smile on his face.

In a moment…

*Boooooom…* A deafening clap reverberated across the void.

Everyone promptly turned their gaze, and saw a massive image of a Buddha manifesting behind the young man, bathed in holy radiance.

The Buddha mirrored the youth’s gentle smile and his actions.

However, the very space quaked in its presence.

*Boooooom…* With a thunderous collision, a single flower petal struck the divine beam shot from the King of Gods’ eye.

This was the Picking a Flower with a Smile, a renowned Buddhist technique.

It was profound, inexplicable, and beyond ordinary people’s understanding.

Few in all of history had mastered it, whereas this young man’s mastery of it had reached advance-level.

It was terrifying beyond measure.

Thus, it was not surprising for him to take three powerful Tier-6s alone, and dominate everyone.

However, at this moment, a trace of solemnity appeared on Gyani’s face, because the conversion of the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree had reached its critical moment.

Though he had no idea where most of the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree’s Spirit was gone, leaving only a fraction behind, this was a once-in-an-era opportunity for the Buddhist Sect.

If they could successfully convert the Divine Tree, then their sect would surely rise again in this era, reclaiming the glory of ages past.

And this was the prime reason he had emerged.

The last legacy of the Buddhist Sect, and also the most terrifying inheritance, the Sacred Son of Buddha, finally emerged from a remote galaxy…

And now… the moment has come to the most critical point.

“Your Excellency…you share a karmic affinity with Buddha…” came another whisper, accompanied by waves of Buddhist scriptures.

Above in the starry sky hung the ‘Mark of the Buddha.’

…

However, at this crucial moment, the expression of this Sacred Son of Buddha suddenly changed, a horrific chill crawled up his spine violently.

A feeling of imminent crisis, a near-fatal one, instantly flooded his head.

“Retreat, I must retreat… or else…” The voice echoed repeatedly in his mind, and the Sacred Son had no choice but to step back.

And then, at the next moment…

*Boooooom…* A thunderous explosion, giving the impression as if the very Heaven was about to collapse, reverberated through the starry void.

Looking toward the source, everyone found that a star had somehow appeared at the very location where Gyani had been standing before.

Its size alone rivaled that of the Moon orbiting around the Earth in the Solar System.

Burning with raging flames, it emitted an undying brilliance.

This, unmistakably, was the Realm of Fire, one of the Nine Realms.

In the vast starry sky…

It spun and blazed…

Emitting an indomitable and fearsome aura.

As for why such a star could force the Sacred Son of Buddha, Gyani, to retreat, just by looking at where this star had fallen, one could understand.

The starry sky had shattered, space itself had fractured.

Within millions of kilometers around it, everything was obliterated.

Even the Void Space became difficult to trace, vanishing without a shadow.

*Gulp…* Throats bobbed as one after another powerful figures involuntarily turned their heads, their eyes dazed, gazing far off at that white figure seated high on the throne.

At this moment, the white figure held in his palm eight orb-like spheres, each about the size of a marble, radiating different lights, quietly rotating.

Faintly, it appeared as if he was lifting a part of the starry sky in one hand.

The light radiating from them shining brightly in the starry sky.
