“Anzuiel, I understand.”

Simple words, but they carried a weight of indescribable determination.

All the people in the world had no path forward, but now, the road of the Supreme Principle lay before him—how could he not seize it?

With this thought, Yu Zi Yu solidified his resolve: He would shoulder the Supreme Principle.

And more than that, he must succeed.

However, before that, there was something else he had to do…

“Summon Ling Er and Nine Tails.”

“Yes, Master.”

With a unified reply, the Elf Queen and Mermaid Queen withdrew from the Realm of Life and headed to Ling Er and Nine Tails.

…

Not long after…

“Greetings, Master…” Two figures appeared in the deepest reaches of the Realm of Life, greeting in unison.

Both of them were breathtaking, so magnificent that even when they stood still, the world around them lost their color.

At this moment, lifting her eyes and gazing at the towering Divine Tree rooted between Heaven and Earth, Nine Tails stepped forward and asked, “Master, may we ask why you summoned us?”

Her gentle inquiry carried a trace of confusion.

“Nine Tails, Ling Er…” softly murmuring their names, Yu Zi Yu looked at the two figures not far away. Then, he stated calmly, “I will enter seclusion. A closed-death seclusion.”

His voice, firm and resolute, echoed in the air causing both Ling Er and Nine Tails to abruptly pale.

Seclusion, and not just any seclusion, a closed-death seclusion?

As for what a closed-death seclusion meant, it needed no explanation.

For an existence like their Master, if he were to truly enter a closed-death seclusion, he might not awaken for centuries or even millennia.

And what did centuries, millennia, mean in the ever-shifting tides of time?

Their expressions grew increasingly complex, and both Ling Er and Nine Tails fell into silence.

However, at that moment, Yu Zi Yu’s voice once again rang in their ears, “So, before I begin this seclusion… I wanted to ask the two of you, would you be willing to join me?”

“Join you… in seclusion?” Startled, Nine Tails looked on in disbelief.

“Yes… seclusion.” With a soft sigh, Yu Zi Yu added, “I don’t want to wake one day to find that the entire world has changed beyond recognition. I don’t want to open my eyes and find that all my old friends have passed. So I want to bring you with me into seclusion. Then, I will seal off the Nine Realms, find a place of absolute solitude, enter slumber for centuries or millennia.”

Each of Yu Zi Yu’s sentence revealed Yu Zi Yu’s deepest fears.

What he feared most during this closed-death seclusion… was waking to a world that had changed beyond recognition.

And worse, finding that those dear to him had vanished.

Thus, to prevent that outcome, Yu Zi Yu had made a choice: To gather his loved ones and place them within the Nine Realms.

This way, even if he entered his long seclusion, he could remain close to those he cherished.

As for why people could pass even after centuries or millennia?

It wasn’t necessarily due to old age, but because over such vast stretches of time, no one could predict what might happen.

Perhaps a great war among the Myriad Races would erupt…

Perhaps the Void Clan might launch a massive invasion of the Demon Court…

All of these were possibilities.

And though the Nine Tails, Ling Er, and others were strong, facing such calamities might push them beyond their limits.

So, to ensure their safety, Yu Zi Yu had decided to temporarily withdraw from the starry skies.

Once he had shouldered the Supreme Principle and ascended into a Hegemon, he would return, bringing Nine Tails, Ling Er, and the rest, to rule the universe.

“Master…” a soft murmur slipped from her lips. The ever-perceptive Ling Er, the Empress, had already seen through Yu Zi Yu’s intentions.

Then…

*Hooo…* Exhaling a deep breath, Ling Er stated candidly, “Wherever Master is, that is where Ling Er shall be… Ling Er is willing to remain by Master’s side, always.”

As she spoke, she glanced at Nine Tails and continued, “Sister, you don’t wish for Master to carry lingering worries during his seclusion either, do you?”

“En.” Understanding, Nine Tails gave a slight nod and stepped forward, “Master, Nine Tails is willing to follow wherever you go.”

“Great.” Receiving their affirmation, Yu Zi Yu broke into a hearty laughter..

Now that he knew the intentions of Nine Tails and Ling Er, he didn’t have a need to ask the others.

After all, Ling Er and Nine Tails had always spoken on behalf of them all.

With that in mind, Yu Zi Yu gave his orders, “Then go and summon them. Call back Bull Demon, Golden Ant, and the others…”

“Yes, Master.” With a synchronized response, Nine Tails and Ling Er shot off like lightning, heading beyond the Nine Realms.

Yet just then, a voice tinged with doubt rang in Yu Zi Yu’s ears, the voice Anzuiel, the Spirit of the Sixteen Holy Wings, “If you take Nine Tails, the Empress, Golden Ant, all these powerful beings, what will become of the Demon Court you’ve established?”

“I’m not taking everyone.” Yu Zi Yu chuckled lightly and explained, “For instance, Sweet Osmanthus is rooted in the Celestial Realm. She cannot leave. So, I intend to leave her behind to guard the Demon Court.”

At this point, Yu Zi Yu paused in thought before continuing, “Besides, you should understand that the Demon Court today is teeming with talent. There are those who are no less capable than Nine Tails and Ling Er…”

“If Nine Tails, Ling Er, and the rest never step aside, the younger generation will never get their chance.”

As he listened in silence, a look of understanding dawned upon the face of Anzuiel. “So… you intend to have the new generation take over the reins of power?”

“Exactly.” Nodding his affirmation, Yu Zi Yu enthused with a smile, “The new must replace the old. I’m quite eager to see how these young ones perform…It can be considered a trial. A test for them.”

At this point, Yu Zi Yu spoke candidly, “This time, I won’t be taking any of my three Disciples. Nor will I bring the Fallen Angel or the King of Knight from the Divine-Demonic Breeding Grounds…”

This rare confession revealed a long-planned strategy in Yu Zi Yu’s heart.

This was what he had been preparing for all along.

Taking advantage of his closed-death seclusion, Yu Zi Yu could take all his old companions and retreat deep into the Nine Realms… leaving only a handful of elites behind to watch over the starry skies.

This served two purposes:

First, it created space for the younger generation to grow.

Second, it gave Nine Tails, Ling Er, and the other veterans the time they needed to cultivate in peace.

It was hitting two birds with one stone.

Moreover… Yu Zi Yu harbored an even more far-reaching plan in his heart.

In the future, the core power of the Demon Court would rotate every century. Or even every millennium.

With each cycle, leadership would pass on.

From one generation after another, infusing the entire Demon Court with vitality and momentum.

Only those abilities would rise to the top. Only the merit would pave the way.

Only in this way could the Demon Court become a force to reckon with for eternity.

And this method had one major advantage:

Even if the new generation proved unreliable, the Demon Court would not decline for behind them stood Nine Tails, Ling Er… and a growing line of powerful Elders.

Generation after generation, steadily accumulating strength. Eventually, the Demon Court’s foundations would reach staggering, world-shaking heights.

So in truth, rather than saying Yu Zi Yu was giving the new generation a chance…It was more accurate to say, he was leading Nine Tails, Ling Er, and the others… into the shadows.
