Soaring through the cosmic void, Yu Zi Yu now had only one goal: to return to the Milky Way.

Five years had passed since his departure.

And in that time… who knew what might have changed within the Demon Court?

With that thought, Yu Zi Yu spread the wings on his back wide.

*Boooom…* With a thunderous roar, he tore through space itself, shooting toward the distant edge of the stars.

To tear open space, this was a higher-level usage of the Sixteen Holy Wings.

Renowned as the ‘Wings of Freedom,’ the Sixteen Holy Wings were said to permit unimpeded passage through Heaven and Earth.

Naturally, space itself could not restrain them.

In other words, they granted the power of teleportation.

Though technically a form of teleportation, this was far more advanced.

This was interstellar-level spatial displacement, known simply as a ‘jump.’

And within the Demon Court, only Yu Zi Yu, by virtue of his Void Elf Form, was capable of such a feat. He had long since condensed the Principle Marks of Space, and by virtue of these prism-shaped crystal, he could perform full-fledged jumps across the stars.

Now, even his Angel King Form could do it, thanks to the Sixteen Holy Wings.

In just moments, Yu Zi Yu could cross multiple Star Systems with ease.

A faint smile tugged at his lips. He was clearly pleased with his current capabilities.

If, one day, he could merge the Void Elf’s Principle Marks of Space into his True Body, then his mastery over the Sixteen Holy Wings would ascend several more levels.

After all, no matter how powerful an Imperial Artifact may be, it was still a tool.

And tools ultimately depended on the wielder.

If Yu Zi Yu excelled in Time, he could add in the Gears of Time. If he had mastered Space, he could add in the Space Crystals.

Different strengths would bestow the Sixteen Holy Wings with entirely different powers.

Legend had it that the fraying storms that curled around the wingtips of the Sixteen Holy Wings were the lingering power of a previous wielder who had mastered the Principle of Wind, and which had etched into the artifact for eternity.

This was why the Imperial Artifacts sought only the most exceptional of wielders.

The stronger the wielder, the greater the benefit to the Artifact.

In some cases, it could even trigger the evolution of the Imperial Artifact itself.

And this was precisely what made Imperial Artifacts different from the cultivation methods of other races.

…

At the same time Yu Zi Yu made his way toward the Milky Way…

Deep in a remote corner of the cosmos…

A Colossal Tree, vast enough to bridge Heaven and Earth, stood proudly with its roots embedded deep in the nine worlds.

High above it, a throne hovered, upon which sat a weathered, ancient figure, gazing coldly down upon the world below, his eyes filled with disdain.

And beneath him, the giant tree’s branches extended in all directions, each one supporting a world the size of a planet.

Each of these worlds shimmered with iridescent brilliance—still radiant, still glorious.

This was the Gods…

The Sanctuary of Gods.

Yet at this moment, within one particularly dazzling world bathed in divine brilliance…

“Void… Space…” A roar, so shrill and anguishing that it seemed to tear apart the stars, suddenly echoed across the Heavens.

At this moment, if one looked inside that dazzling world, they would notice countless rays of light gathering, shaping a massive, hazy figure, standing 100,000 metres tall.

This was the God of Light, Balthazar, who was ranked third within the Pantheon.

His Church of Light was spread across countless galaxies, with tens of millions of devout followers.

In terms of proselytizing, not a single God could compare to him.

Yet now, this supreme being, this paragon of divine majesty, had lost control, letting out a primal howl toward Heaven.

“What happened?” Confused, the ancient figure seated on the Heavenly Throne, one hand gripping a staff, furrowed his brows slightly in surprise.

“Reporting, Your Majesty… according to reports, Balthazar has dispatched his most powerful vessel toward the Western Sector… and by the looks of it now, something must have gone terribly wrong.” Reported another God in a slow, deliberate manner, a faint, amused smile creeping across his lips.

Balthazar’s power was overwhelming, so much so that many within the Gods found him unbearable.

And now that he had suffered a sudden and devastating blow, there were surely many who were clapping in joy secretly.

“The Western Sector… so that’s where he went…” muttering in a voice as ancient as time itself, the weathered figure slowly opened his solitary eye.

He had only one eye.

Among the Gods, the inheritors of the Godking Lineage must destroy one of their eyes in order to receive the Eye of Fate, passed down through the generations.

And now, as that lone eye opened, what shone in its depths was the weariness of time, and the heritage of the past.

In the next moment, like glimpsing the entire River of Fate, a vision, illusory and hazy, began to manifest before him.

*Booooom…* As a thunderous shock rippled across Heaven and Earth, the Gods all turned their gaze toward the vision, where the starry sky was slowly being dyed in shades of deep violet.

The violet was so deep, so profound that it exuded mystery and otherworldly power.

And along with it came a strange, ineffable presence that pervaded the stars.

*Rooooar…* Suddenly, a majestic Dragon Roar echoed, earth-shattering and sky-splitting. Even the Realm of Gods was shaken by it.

Visible to the naked eye, waves of ripples surged across the space.

The terrifying roar reverberated through the Realm of Gods like a thunderclap.

However, what was even more suffocating was that the entire world began to tremble violently, and traces of violet light began to spread, as if being slowly corroded.

*Hmph…* A cold snort rang out as the staff in the ancient figure’s hand struck the ground.

In that instant, lightning streaked across the sky, accompanied by deafening claps of thunder.

Immediately, the spreading violet was forcibly halted.

However… it was far from over.

Because in that very moment, a voice devoid of warmth, cold as death, echoed across the Realm of Gods, “Without our permission… you dare spy on us?”

The voice, ghastly and increasingly frigid, sent even the very space itself into shudders.

And if one looked closely, the spreading violet twisted and warped, as if something was emerging.

*Roooooar…* Amidst an increasingly fearsome Dragon Roar, a ferocious Purple Dragon Head emerged in the skies above.

“This creature…” For once, the figure seated upon the Heavenly Throne looked grave, and slowly closed his solitary eye.

*Booooom…* As his eyelid fell shut, the Heavens and Earth regained their silence.

Even the creeping violet began to gradually fade.

“The God of Light’s defeat… was not undeserved.” With a soft sigh, this King of the Gods had no choice but to admit the sheer terror of the Void Emperor.

[Tier-6…just a Tier-6, but his ways are beyond anything logical. He can actually step out of illusions, and into reality. And that corrosion, that’s even worse. An existence like that… It’s a damn nightmare. An unfathomable nightmare. No wonder… No wonder Balthazar himself was so completely and utterly destroyed…]

[To be targeted by something like that… even if Balthazar had gone in his real body, and not just some projection… he would still face utter catastrophe. There’s no doubt about it.]

…

Meanwhile, in the deepest recesses of the Void…

Yu Zi Yu, whose consciousness had just descended into his Purple Dragon Form, furrowed his brows.

[Who… who manage to do something like that? To ‘look’ across billions of kilometres? Try to ‘see’ my True Form?]

[Damn it… if I hadn’t reacted just then… some of the secrets of Purple Dragon… they would have been exposed! At the very least… the Supreme Principle of Infinity… that wouldn’t be a secret anymore… It would have been out in the open! And if that had happened… the entire damn universe would be in an uproar… and in chaos.]

[A Void Creature… actually showing signs of holding the Supreme Principle of Infinity? That’s like a slap in the face to every single race out there… They would mark it as their biggest threat, because once the Purple Dragon fully matured… becoming a Half-Step Eternal… would be…inevitable. And from then on… all races of the stars… would all be living under the terror of the Void… forever.]
