“I understand now, Master…” Suddenly, a voice echoed through the great hall.

Looking toward the source, they saw Bosun wearing a firm and resolute expression.

“What is it that you understand?” Yu Zi Yu asked calmly.

“I should enter the mortal world. Only there can my path be truly tempered…”

With a faint smile playing at the corner of his lips, Yu Zi Yu added leisurely, “Remember to seal your cultivation.”

“Seal my cultivation?” Slightly taken aback, Bosun froze in place.

Entering the mortal world was one thing but sealing his cultivation as well?

“Not just your cultivation,” Yu Zi Yu added with a chuckle, “Even parts of your memory will need to be sealed.”

As he spoke, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze shifted toward the figure he had summoned long ago, Nine Tails.

“Nine Tails, place two seals on Bosun. Then toss him to Earth.”

“Yes, Master.”

With an amused smile, Nine Tails looked at Bosun, her expression filled with a peculiar delight.

[Well… this is going to be interesting!]

Sealing his cultivation, and even part of his memories, and then tossed into the mortal world for tempering…She couldn’t imagine many powerful beings being thrilled about that.

But that didn’t matter. This wasn’t something Bosun could choose.

Now that their Master had spoken, even if Bosun was unwilling, he had no say in the matter.

So… with a bitter expression, Bosun raised his eyes, a hint of panic flashing within them as he looked at the enchantingly beautiful demoness walking toward him.

“Big Sis… Could you maybe not seal it too strongly? In case I run into something dangerous, I’d like to be able to break the seal and protect myself…”

“Relax,” Nine Tails stated with a mischievous grin, “Earth doesn’t have any Tier-4s. And with that monstrous body of yours, you’ll be more than capable of keeping yourself alive.”

Then, showing no hesitation, she flicked her hand, channeling her Spiritual Energy.

Immediately, silver-white chains emerged from the void, one after the other, slowly wrapping around Bosun.

*Clink… clank…* As the chains slithered around him, binding him, a trace of confusion began to emerge within Bosun’s eyes.

Who am I?

Where am I?

Why am I here?

These three great questions began to echo in his mind as he felt his body lift uncontrollably into the air…

“Safe travels.” With a light laugh, Yu Zi Yu waved his hand.

*Booooom…* With a deafening roar, Bosun turned into a streak of light, shooting straight toward Earth like a meteor.

“Master, wasn’t that a bit too cruel to Second Junior Brother…?”

A voice suddenly rang out in the hall.

Looking up, Yu Zi Yu saw his Eldest Disciple, Shalira, standing there nervously.

“Rather than worrying about your Junior Brother…” Yu Zi Yu replied with a subtle smile, “you’d better worry about yourself.”

“W-Worry about myself?” Blinking in confusion, Shalira stared at him, her expression as innocent as ever.

“Hahaha…” Chuckling softly, Yu Zi Yu simply ignored her bewildered look.

Then, his gaze shifted toward the distant Elf Queen, who stood ready at all times.

“Is the Elemental Trial I asked you to prepare for Shalira ready?”

“Yes, Master. It’s been ready for quite some time.”

As she replied, a glimmer of schadenfreude flashed in the Elf Queen’s eyes.

The Elemental Trial—also known as the Twelve Trials of Elements—was one of the most fearsome and despair-inducing trials of the Elemental Clan.

Its danger was immense.

And the resources and wealth consumed during the trial were equally shocking.

In turn, for those who managed to pass it, the benefits were immeasurable.

In fact, it had long been considered a sacred rite of passage, a trial meant to forge the Elemental Clan’s most gifted prodigies.

So naturally… after seizing the foundation of the Elemental Clan, the Demon Court had appropriated the trial for their own use.

After careful consideration, Yu Zi Yu instructed the Elf Queen and the others to prepare the highest-grade version of the Elemental Trial.

The resources consumed alone were enough to forge ten Tier-5s.

And this trial was the gift Yu Zi Yu had prepared for his Eldest Disciple, Shalira.

Shalira specialized in Psychic Power.

And in that respect, she was no different from the Elementals.

So by that logic, undergoing this trial was certainly fitting.

“Uh…” As she heard Yu Zi Yu’s orders, Shalira’s expression turned rather strange.

[So this is it, huh? The real reason Master wanted us back. All that talk about missing us…it was just a cover. He wasn’t missing us, he wanted to test us. Test our mettle. Junior Brother’s already been tossed into the mortal world for his tempering… and me? I’ll have to undergo the Elemental Trials. This… this isn’t just a challenge. This is going to be the ultimate proving ground. The biggest test we’ve ever faced.]

Just then, as if something occurred to her, Shalira turned to glance at the girl standing not far away.

“Master, what trial did you prepare for Little Sister?”

“Her…” With a light chuckle, Yu Zi Yu answered frankly, “She’ll stay by my side.”

As he said this, Yu Zi Yu looked deeply at Shea, his gaze filled with unspoken meaning.

“You’ll stay ten years by my side. How much you learn will depend on your own fate.”

“Yes, Master,” Shea replied solemnly, giving an earnest nod.

…

However, at that moment, Shea failed to notice the many envious gazes gathering around her.

To spend ten years at the Master’s side, that was true Discipleship.

In other words, Shea might become Yu Zi Yu’s true Personal Disciple.

Even Shalira, the Eldest Disciple, and Bosun, the Second Disciple, had not attained that status.

But then again, they had their own paths to follow.

Their destinies were not suited for the path Yu Zi Yu walked.

And Yu Zi Yu’s path… was a hundred times more difficult than any other. It was a path that truly chased after the Dao itself.

Ordinary people wouldn’t dare tread it.

In the entire Demon Court, only someone as pure-hearted and incomparably talented as Shea could walk this path.

To put it simply, after Yu Zi Yu, Shea might become the pillar of the next generation.

As for whether Shea could grow into that role…

No one knew, not even Yu Zi Yu himself.

All he could do was teach her well over the next ten years.

The rest… would be up to fate.

If she succeeded, then even if Yu Zi Yu entered eternal seclusion one day, the Demon Court would have nothing to fear under her protection.

But if she failed… then when Yu Zi Yu did retreat into seclusion, finding peace and stability for the Demon Court would be really difficult.

*Haaaa…* With a faint sigh, Yu Zi Yu looked at Shea with a hint of expectation in his eyes.

“Grow well… The future of the Demon Court may very well rest with you.”

Silently sighing in his heart, Yu Zi Yu stepped out of the Demon Palace.

Now, he wished to take a look around the lands of the Demon Court…

To see how the Celestial Realm had prospered…

To see how far Earth had advanced…

To see how Elysia had been faring.

With each step, a mountain and sea passed.

In the blink of an eye, Yu Zi Yu had arrived at the very edge of the Celestial Realm.

At his side, if one paid close attention, was a girl with long black hair flowing to her waist, clad in a dark coat, silently following his every step.

This was Shea, whom Yu Zi Yu had taken with him upon leaving.

He had said Shea would stay by his side for ten years and Yu Zi Yu was not one to go back on his word.

No matter where he went, Shea would follow.

Even if he ventured into the dreaded depths of the Void Space, feared by the stars themselves, he would take her with him.
