Chapter 1205, Speed Beyond the Comprehension of a God

Speed, it had always been one of the God of Light’s greatest strengths.

After all, he was the Ruler of Light, the bearer of Authority over Light.

But what exactly is Authority? It is a power equivalent to Principle themselves.

Cultivation, cultivation, and endless cultivation…

Didn’t most beings toil hard to cultivate to bear a Principle one day?

However, for one like the God of Light, his cultivation only further deepened his dominion over his innate Authority.

To put it plainly, even if another cultivated the Principle of Light to its peak, they would still pale in comparison.

Simply because his grasp over Light was of the highest priority.

So profound was his power that the Children of Light, beings whose very origin was light, the Light Elementals, could not rival him.

That was the nature of the Gods: birthed by the Principles, born beating the Authority.

However, this very God of Light, master of Light and Speed, could not even catch sight of the attacker.

It was simply ridiculous.

The God of Light, Balthazar, was already synonymous with speed. His every move executed with the literal Speed of Light.

…

However, what the God of Light did not know was that Yu Zi Yu had surpassed the Speed of Light.

In fact, combined with the Principle of Time, Yu Zi Yu’s speed had stepped into the second stage, ‘Chasing Time’—running side by side with Time.

And what did that mean?

It meant this…

*Swoooosh…* With the deafening sound of something tearing through space, Yu Zi Yu’s figure turned into a blazing streak of light, piercing straight through Balthazar’s divine body.

So fast it was unimaginable.

So fast not even the God of Light had time to react.

*Booooom…* A thunderous explosion reverberated, and Balthazar’s divine form was torn through, bursting into countless particles of light.

As those particles scattered across the starry sky, Yu Zi Yu, still a streak of light, accelerated again.

“Imperial Artifact, Awaken.” As Yu Zi Yu mumbled, sixteen golden wings suddenly unfurled behind him,

*Booooom…* With another rumble, his speed skyrocketed once more.

At the same time, Balthazar, was riddled with holes by innumerable beams of radiant light.

And those beams, they bloomed like fireworks, shooting forth in all directions.

Each beam was tangible, and impossibly fast.

In the span of a single breath, Balthazar had been struck hundreds of thousands of times.

It was a frequency that was so absurd that it defied common sense.

And under such a barrage, even the mighty Balthazar staggered.

“You are…” Somehow managing to catch his breath, Balthazar swept bis gaze about, and seeing the countless beams of light still lingering in all directions, weaving through space, a deep furrow appeared on his forehead.

And then…

“Didn’t you call me a coward?”

A cold laugh echoed out as the radiant streams of light intertwined.

They converged into a dazzling figure, with sixteen golden wings in its back. A halo of holy light hovered above the figure’s head, though its face remained obscured.

However, the aura it radiated was… Sacred, transcendent, and unworldly, not in the slightest bit inferior to the radiance of the God of Light.

In fact, in terms of bearing, it was even more ethereal.

This was Yu Zi Yu’s Angel King Form.

The one the world called, Alarion, ‘the Angel Who Does Not Belong to the Mortal Realm.’

…

“So… you’re Alarion, the Fifth Angel King?” In a rare moment of solemnity, Balthazar’s expression hardened as his gaze narrowed.

Looking at him closely, one would notice that his eyes were fixed on the golden wings upon Yu Zi Yu’s back.

Each of the feathers of these wings pulsated with brilliance, giving them a sacrosanct and otherworldly appearance. At the tips of the golden wings, one could see cyclones swirling.

This was no ordinary set of wings. This was an Imperial Artifact, the Sixteen Holy Wings, also known as the Wings of Freedom.

He was really shocked to see someone at just mere Tier-6, wielding this terrifying Artifact.

*Hoooo…* Taking a long, deep breath to suppress the unease in his heart, as Balthazar tightened his fists.

Even among Imperial Artifacts, those not meant for combat were still unspeakably terrifying.

At least, the current him did not have the confidence to win against.

After all, that bone-chilling speed was simply suffocating, one that even, the Master of Light, could hardly withstand.

…

*Heh…heh…* Cold snickered erupted from Yu Zi Yu. He didn’t care about Balthazar’s shock.

What he did exude, was the same arrogance as always.

Even the way he looked at Balthazar, he maintained a high and mighty attitude.

And this was simply the temperament of the Angel King Alarion.

Silent yet brimming with pride.

Taciturn yet ever in pursuit of power.

Before others, Yu Zi Yu was deliberately putting on such air, for he was matching the persona expected of a Angel King.

After all, his true personality was not suited for someone like Alarion.

A shining existence like the Angel King ought to be proud, he ought to be a relentless seeker of strength and transcendence.

Thus…

No mocking words were needed.

No conversation was necessary.

Only fists did the talking.

*Swoooosh…* WIth another sound of something cutting through space, Yu Zi Yu’s figure vanished from Balthazar’s sight once more.

And in the very next instant…

*Booooom…* Fist met fist, and in the wake of their clash, a shockwave rippled outward, spreading hundreds of thousands meters wide.

However, that was not the end.

In fact, it was not even the beginning.

*Boooom, boooom, boooom…* One shockwave after another erupted about, as the starry sky became drowned in silent explosions.

Layer upon layer, the ripples surged outward.

These shockwaves of energy were so powerful and destructive that all the asteroids in their path were obliterated from the face of this world.

In fact, even the planets were struggling to survive such blasts.

Just like now…

*Booooooom…* One of the stars illuminating Lumina Sanctis blew up.

And amid that terrifying chorus of destruction, Yu Zi Yu’s form accelerated again.

He was so fast that even Balthazar couldn’t react in time, for his speed had truly surpassed the speed of light.

At this moment, if one looked up, they would witness Balthazar’s figure turning into rays of light, streaming across the starry sky.

However, if one looked closely, they would notice more beams of light weaving around that streak, twining and binding.

And this was simply because Balthazar had fallen a beat behind.

Just one beat, but his afterimages seemed surrounded by a legion of Yu Zi Yus.

This was the most terrifying aspect of Yu Zi Yu’s Angel King Form.

Its speed was simply suffocating.

Its speed sent chills down one’s spine.

Fortunately, Balthazar was someone skilled in speed himself, which allowed to barely keep up with Yu Zi Yu, and barely defend himself.

Had it been someone else, they would have long been drowned in a storm of Yu Zi Yus.

And the reason it seemed like ‘countless Yu Zi Yus’ was because his speed had reached the Realm of Chasing Time.

Yu Zi Yu could now launch countless attacks within a single moment.

He could throw a punch from one direction, and in the same moment, he could also unleash a kick from another.

Thus, in the eyes of others, Yu Zi Yu had split into a thousand, no, ten thousand.

One mistake, just one, and one would be utterly engulfed by his tempest of blows.
