Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 589: The Cold Ice Phoenix

”Even though Iʼve seen your memories, I still wonʼt help you just like that.” Zhang Feiʼs answer caused Ximen Yan to raise an eyebrow. ”I have many people by my side, and they will suffer if something happens to me. At the very least, I will implant something in your soul as a precautionary measure to prevent you from taking over my body, and I will remove it once you manage to reform your body. If you agree with that, then I will help you, or you can forget it otherwise.”

”I agree.” Ximen Yan then turned to Qian Ying and restricted her movements, causing her to frown. ”Iʼm sorry, but this kid wants you, so I have to do this to you.”

”What are you going to do to me?” Qian Ying asked angrily, especially since her master was under Ma Kuangyuʼs control.

Ximen Yan immediately sealed Qian Yingʼs mouth and opened her top dress, revealing her dark yet smooth skin. ”I knew from the beginning that someone was controlling you, implanting something in your body to seal your true memories, while your current memories are fabricated ones. I didnʼt do anything about it because I had no business with you two, and I used his body to help me find someone who could help me get out of this tower. Iʼve found him now, and he wants you, so Iʼll help you return to your true self.”

Qian Ying struggled to break free from her master, but his restriction was too strong for her. Ximen Yan then bit his thumb and dripped his blood onto her chest, revealing a black symbol there.

”What kind of symbol is that?” Zhang Fei asked him.

”This symbol is the Shadow Oblivion Seal, which is used to seal her true memories and replace them with new memories. Only her master can remove it.” Zhang Fei arched his eyebrows, recalling that Ximen Gongfuʼs subordinate had captured Qian Ying. ”His fatherʼs subordinates captured her, but the demon transferred her to him, and heʼs been her master since then.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding. ”Does this mean that her fabricated memories will disappear after you remove this Shadow Oblivion Seal from her?”

”I canʼt be sure of that because I have never learned this kind of technique before, but I can be sure that her true memories will return completely.” Ximen Yan then asked him. ”Are you concerned that her fabricated memories will remain intact?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei replied with a nod. ”She is a close friend of Qinʼer, and I want to free her for her sake. If her fabricated memories are still left behind, it might be dangerous for her.”

Ximen Yan nodded slightly in response. ”In that case, we have to try it first to know the result, but she has been under his control for so many years, and he has used her to do many evil things, including trying to kill Xian Xianqin too many times. If her true memories return, and her fabricated memories persist, it will probably deal a heavy blow to her.”

[Master, if that happens, you can use your memory manipulation ability to erase those fabricated memories from her, allowing her to revert to her true self.]

ʼYeah.ʼ Zhang Fei then spoke to Ximen Yan. ”You can remove it from her body first, and we will see the results first before I decide anything.”

Ximen Yan touched the symbol and injected his qi into it, causing Qian Ying to writhe in pain. Zhang Fei could see the black symbol begin to evaporate, and it disappeared from her body a few minutes later.

As soon as Ximen Yan released his restriction, Qian Ying fell to the ground, her expression utterly confused as her true memories began to flood her mind. Soon, her eyes and body trembled violently as she recalled everything. She gazed at them, tears streaming from the corners of her eyes, before falling unconscious.

Ximen Yan crouched down beside Qian Ying and checked her condition. ”I donʼt know if those fabricated memories disappeared or not, but she suffered a major blow after her true memories returned. For the time being, you should let her fall asleep, and you will know the result after she wakes up.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.” Zhang Fei then opened a portal to the Yin-Yang Space and sent Qian Ying in there, especially since there were many people in his training space, and they would be in danger if she were still as evil as before. ”What about this guy?”

Ximen Yan shrugged his shoulders and stood up. ”You can do whatever you want to this guy, and you can even enslave him if you want to use him for other purposes.”

Zhang Fei naturally wouldnʼt waste the good opportunity in front of him, so he directly implanted his demon slave mark into Ximen Yanʼs soul. He also planted his soul mark into Ma Kuangyuʼs soul so he would never be able to take over his body.

After they were done, Ma Kuangyuʼs soul left Ximen Yanʼs body and entered Zhang Feiʼs body before going to his soul space, where he found Nalan Yushu in a cage. ʼHey! I didnʼt expect you to be able to capture this evil womanʼs soul, but why did you lock her up and not absorb it?ʼ

ʼI need her soul to accomplish something, and you will discover it soon.ʼ Zhang Fei then gave some orders to Ximen Yan, and they returned to their respective places afterward.

The moment he returned to their side, Xian Changyue directly questioned Zhang Fei about his relationship with Ximen Yan because the demon prince had followed him before, and they had also talked for so long. ʼI have no relationship with him, but I have some business with the soul that possessed him. By the way, that guy is my slave now, so you donʼt need to worry about him, and I will use him for things in the future.ʼ

ʼDid you really enslave Ximen Yan?ʼ Xian Changyue asked in shock, especially since it would be great for her kingdom if they could use him against his father, Ximen Gongfu.

Zhang Fei nodded to her. ʼI have enslaved him, and I have freed Qian Ying from his control. However, that girl suffered a heavy blow after her true memories returned, and she fell unconscious.ʼ

ʼMy niece will be thrilled to hear that, especially since she and Qian Ying have been friends since they were little.ʼ Xian Changyue then turned to Xian Xianqin. ʼFor the past years, that girl has always been her demon heart, but you managed to help her get through it, and she will be relieved after hearing this.ʼ

ʼYeah.ʼ Zhang Fei then leaned against the wall. ʼI will take a rest first, so I leave our protection to you.ʼ

ʼAll right.ʼ

Since his other four clones were busy with their respective partners, Zhang Fei [5] brought Zhang Yue to the Sky Jade Realm, especially since someone from the Phoenix race would be arriving today.

The person had not yet arrived when they got there, so they chatted with Feng Yao while waiting for her, and she took them to tour the areas of the Blazing Phoenix Sect.

”When did you last see her?” Feng Yao suddenly asked Zhang Fei [5] as she pointed toward a young woman who was joking around while discussing with the other female disciples.

Zhang Fei [5] turned to the female disciple and recognized her instantly, especially since she was Chang Wenjie, the woman who wanted him to be hers back at the Blazing Volcano Mountain. ”After the volcano, I only met her twice. Once in the southern region when we destroyed the Cai and You Clans, and the second time was after we destroyed the heretics, but I never spoke to her at those two meetings.”

Feng Yao herself was aware of the issues between them, and Zhang Fei [5] was unwilling to accept her because of Chang Wenjieʼs excessive arrogance. ”Wenjie has started to change after she returned from the volcano, and she has been working hard to change for the better. She is no longer as arrogant as she was back then, and she often helps the other disciples now. Naturally, you already know the reason behind her change, right?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed in response, but he did not forget his words to Chang Wenjie back then. ”I did ask her to change if she wanted to be my woman, and I also told her that I might take her as a member of my harem after she changed. Seven months have passed since then, but we only met twice more after that, so the relationship between us was really bland.”

Feng Yao nodded slightly before telling Zhang Fei [5]. ”Wenjie has wanted to go see you many times, but she always felt that her change was still not good enough for you. She was afraid that you would reject her a second time, so she always gave up on her intention. I donʼt know your criteria for choosing a woman, but I think sheʼs much better now, so you might consider taking her by your side.”

”I agree with Big Sis Yao, Feiʼer. I donʼt know her, so I donʼt know her character back then.” Zhang Yue chimed in as she looked at Chang Wenjie. ”I can see that the current her is good, and she doesnʼt have an arrogant air around her. She is friendly and warm with her sect sisters, and she is also willing to answer any of their questions.”

”Do you want me to take her as a member of my harem?”

”Iʼm not asking you to take her as a member of your harem right away, but you can at least give her a chance to prove herself to you.” Zhang Yue denied that with a shake of her head. ”You rejected her once, so she decided to change for you, and she has changed now. Thatʼs why I think you can bring her with us to the Nine Stars Realm, and the two of you can build your relationship there.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.”

Feng Yao suddenly raised her eyebrows as she sensed something, and she immediately informed Zhang Fei [5]. ”Feng Jinqiu has arrived, so I will bring your big sister to meet her. As for you, you should meet Chang Wenjie first, and you can catch up with us later.”

Without waiting for Zhang Fei [5]ʼs answer, Feng Yao immediately took Zhang Yue with her. He thought for a moment before walking over to Chang Wenjie, leaving her stunned when she saw him.

The female disciples looked confused by Zhang Fei [5]ʼs presence, especially since he was clearly not a member of the sect. However, they noticed the change in Chang Wenjieʼs expression, and they guessed that he had come specifically to see her. They hurriedly left, whispering to each other, curious about his identity.

”You have changed.” Zhang Fei [5] gently said it.

Chang Wenjie shook her head once she returned to her senses. ”Iʼve changed, but my changes still mean nothing in your eyes, right? We met twice in the last few months, but you never greeted me, let alone talked to me.”

”Youʼre right.” Zhang Fei [5] then sat beside her. ”I could see your changes at our second meeting, but I could still feel your arrogance at that time, so I didnʼt pay attention to you. You changed even more at our third meeting, but I was too busy with many matters at that time. As for now, I can see that you have completely changed, so I came to you to offer you a chance.”

”A chance?”

”Even though you have changed, our relationship is still completely bland, so I will give you a chance to stay by my side.” Chang Wenjie was delighted to hear that, but she immediately suppressed her excitement. ”You must have heard that I brought Lingxue and the others to another realm, right?”

”Yes.” Chang Wenjie replied with a nod. ”I looked for my master at that time, and Sect Master Yao told me that she went with you to the Nine Stars Realm. Honestly, I was disappointed at that time because she left without telling me, but I can understand her feelings because you are her husband.”

Zhang Fei [5] turned to her. ”If you want, Iʼll take you to that realm and give us more time to bond.”

”Do you really want to take me to that realm?” Chang Wenjie asked in disbelief.

”Back then, I asked you to change, and I also said that I might accept you after you change.” Chang Wenjie naturally still remembered Zhang Feiʼs [5] words at that time, and that was what spurred her to continue changing during the past seven months. ”I can see that you have changed, but I want to see them with my own eyes, so I want to bring you there.”

Chang Wenjie had been looking forward to it for a long time. ”I will go with you to that realm to prove to you that I have changed, and I hope you will accept me after you see everything.”

”Go pack your things and inform your family about this matter.” Zhang Fei [5] then stood up. ”I will go see Feng Yao now, and you can come see me again when you are ready.”

After that, Chang Wenjie immediately stood up from her seat, rushed back to her room in the sect, and also contacted her family.

Zhang Fei [5] immediately searched the map for the locations of Zhang Yue and the others, finding them in a room quite far from his. Upon reaching the room, a chill penetrated his bones, a sensation he had never experienced before. Even though his big sister has awakened her ice phoenix bloodline and physique, the coldness emanating from her body still pales in comparison.

Zhang Fei [5] immediately entered the room before looking at Feng Jinqiu, the pure ice phoenix.

Feng Jinqiuʼs appearance was like autumn, her skin as white as the snow. She appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen years old but already possessed a graceful bearing and beauty that could topple kingdoms.

If Feng Yao was as hot as burning lava, then Feng Jinqiu was as cold as the coldest ice. Her aura is as cold as an iceberg, repelling anyone who dares to approach her.

Feng Jinqiu wore a long blue dress and a white silk belt around her curvy waist. Her blue hair was silky smooth, falling to her shoulders. Her blue eyes were as cold as the coldest ice, and her lips were icy pale but perfectly curved. Even without any makeup, her appearance didnʼt have a single flaw, and everything about her was truly flawless.

Feng Jinqiu raised her eyebrows as she noticed Zhang Fei [5] staring at her intensely, but she remained silent and instead spoke to Feng Yao. ”Princess, I cannot train this little girl here because her ice element will disturb the people in the sect, so I must take her away to a secluded place before starting her training.”

ʼHer voice is cold but melodious.ʼ Zhang Fei [5] then told her. ”Senior Jinqiu, you can take my big sister to the fallen moon cave in the north of this island, especially since there are a lot of moon crystals there, so the Yin Qi there is very strong.”

Feng Jinqiu nodded in understanding and turned to Feng Yao, who immediately touched her forehead and shared the location of the fallen moon cave. She then grabbed Zhang Yueʼs shoulders and took her away directly, causing Zhang Fei [5] to sigh.

”Haha.” Feng Yao chuckled at his sigh. ”Are you thinking about getting Jinqiu? She is an ice phoenix, and her feelings are very cold, so it wonʼt be easy for you if you want to get her.”

”I once read that an ice phoenix is incredibly beautiful, and she truly is. I have an interest in her, but I am not thinking about it for now.” Zhang Fei [5] then asked her. ”Do you want to go to the Nine Stars Realm now?”

Feng Yao nodded at him. ”I have explained everything to Jinqiu, and I have also asked the elders to help her so I can go there now.”
