Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 583: Leave The Demon Maze

*Swoosh... Swoosh...*

As soon as the demon extermination sword struck it, the giant demonʼs body immediately emitted black light before splitting into hundreds of human souls, leaving Zhang Fei stunned for a moment by their numbers.

”Thank you, young man. We have been trapped for too long and turned into the demon, but we can be relieved now.”

”Exactly how did you guys end up here?” Zhang Fei frowned as they immediately told him everything, including the identity of the person who had locked them up there. ”Leave now and enter the reincarnation circle.”

One by one, the human souls shot into the sky and disappeared from Zhang Feiʼs sight, but the young boy was still floating in front of him. ”Big brother, can I ask you for one more favor?”

”Sure.” The young boy promptly shared a few things with Zhang Fei. ”All right, I will go to that realm in the future, but I canʼt promise that I can meet your family because your death was too long ago.”

”Thank you, Big Brother.” After that, the young boy immediately disappeared from Zhang Feiʼs sight.

”The world of cultivation is indeed too cruel and dangerous, but I never thought that there would be a cultivator so cruel that he or she would sacrifice millions of people just to fulfill his or her ambition. Unfortunately, they donʼt know the exact identity of that person, so I have to be more careful when I go to the upper realms in the future.” Zhang Fei then rushed off to find his group members, but many demons blocked his path.

Zhang Fei easily killed them with the upgraded demon extermination sword and his light element. Furthermore, the demon maze had no restrictions, allowing him to search for the demons and their group members without significant obstacles, ultimately freeing the souls of the humans who had transformed into those demons.

”Retreat, Senior Sister Zhiqiu.” Hearing that, Ye Zhiqiu, who was too overwhelmed to face the demon, immediately jumped back. Zhang Feiʼs light sword Qi shot toward the demon, splitting it in two, and the human souls immediately scattered into the sky.

”What are they, Zhang Fei?” Ye Zhiqiu asked as she pointed to the sky.

”Those demons are the souls of humans, trapped in this maze.” Ye Zhiqiu turned to Zhang Fei in shock, and he immediately relayed the information he had learned from the young boy and the previous souls, causing her to tremble in fear. ”That person is indeed too cruel to sacrifice them, but he or she seems to live in the upper realms, so you donʼt need to worry too much about it.”

”Yeah.” Ye Zhiqiu then followed behind Zhang Fei, but she didnʼt need to exhaust herself fighting every demon they encountered, especially since he killed all of them with one attack. ʼHow strong is he really? I fought with one of those demons for so long, and I couldnʼt kill it with my current strength, yet they were like tofu before his attack.ʼ

Ye Zhiqiu herself didnʼt know the name of Zhang Feiʼs sword, and the demon extermination sword was specially forged to kill the demons. Additionally, his light element was also stronger than many light element cultivators, especially after he mastered the initial stage of the light element law, which was thanks to Shi Qingzhuang sharing her method with him.

While they were en route to another area, a woman unexpectedly ran towards them, pursued by several demons. Zhang Fei and Ye Zhiqiu immediately recognized her identity, especially since she was Zhou Meiling.

After she managed to escape from Ximen Yan and Qian Ying, Zhou Meiling had the misfortune of entering one of the traps in the maze, which immediately transported her to the demon maze.

”Help!” Zhou Meiling cried out for help as she waved her hands.

Zhang Fei actually did not want to save Zhou Meiling, but he felt the need to free other human souls. He slashed the demon extermination toward those demons, exterminating them instantly.

Zhang Fei then took Ye Zhiqiu away quickly, especially since Mei had discovered another womanʼs soul within Zhou Meilingʼs body. Unfortunately, they had no information about the womanʼs soul, but her actions of controlling the Zhou Princess already showed that she was not a good woman.

Zhou Meiling was stunned once Zhang Fei and Ye Zhiqiu disappeared from her sight. ”That brat! Why did he leave me here? Damn it! I need his body and soul power, so I have to chase him right away.”

Zhang Fei himself had already told them about the womanʼs soul inside Zhou Meilingʼs body, so Ye Zhiqiu wasnʼt surprised by his decision to take her away from the Zhou Princess, but his speed was still astonishing to her.

After some time, Zhang Fei and Ye Zhiqiu encountered three other members of their group and proceeded to travel together. He continued to monitor the movements of Zhou Meiling, who was steadily approaching their location, especially considering that he had defeated a significant number of demons in their path.

Zhang Fei asked them to disregard Zhou Meiling and led them to locate their other members. They relentlessly ran through the dark path of the demon maze, eliminating every demon that stood in their way.

After several hours, they were reunited with most of them, except for four people. Unfortunately, they were unable to locate the two princesses due to their remote locations.

Zhang Fei was worried about Xian Xianqin and Yun Xinyue, especially since the map showed that the path ahead of the two women was filled with demons and they were alone. Despite Xian Changyue and Ximen Chuixue being alone in distant locations, he did not worry about them, as they were capable of handling the demons that attacked them. ”You guys can handle these demons, right? I have to go to Xianqinʼs location quickly, or she will be in danger.”

”All right, you can pick up Princess Xianqin, and I will lead them to the exit.” Ye Zhiqiu and the others nodded in agreement with Bai Tianʼer.

”Always be careful of Zhou Meiling.” After he said that, Zhang Fei immediately used his teleportation repeatedly, but the paths inside the demon maze were quite troublesome for him.

Bai Tianʼer immediately led the others towards the exit, and they continued to monitor Zhou Meiling with their senses, especially since they feared that the womanʼs soul inside her body would move to one of them.

.

.

.

”Ugh!” Xian Xianqin, who was fighting with a demon, suddenly staggered backward. Her head grew heavy, and her vision began to blur, particularly after the demon used a soul attack against her. ʼShit! This demonʼs soul attack is not very strong, but it is still troublesome. If Zhang Fei or Senior Sister Tianʼer were here with me, I wouldnʼt have faced such a difficult situation.ʼ

*Swoosh*

Xian Xianqin immediately jumped to dodge as soon as the demon spat its acidic spit at her, and it caused the ground at her previous spot to dissolve. ʼTch! I am a cultivator and also a princess, so I canʼt continue to depend on other people, and I must defeat this demon myself.ʼ

Xian Xianqin held the hilt of her sword with both hands, took an attacking stance with the blade pointed at the demon, and released her wind element strengthened with the wind element law. ʼI havenʼt fully mastered this technique, but I have no other choice now, so Iʼll use it to defeat this demon.ʼ

ʼFeather Wind Dance!ʼ A green aura instantly enveloped Xian Xianqinʼs body as she dashed toward the demon. She maneuvered around the demon, repeatedly slashing her sword at it, each movement akin to a sword dance that swiftly covered its body in sword wounds.

*Slash... Slash... Slash...*

*Rip*

Xian Xianqin managed to cut off the demonʼs left arm, but it didnʼt show any reaction, as if it didnʼt feel any pain. The demon suddenly roared, and its aura exploded, causing the area to shake as it stomped its feet on the ground.

Xian Xianqin, who lost her balance, immediately stabilized herself and jumped away from the demon. The demon immediately dashed towards him and used a soul attack once again, causing him to stagger backward.

ʼShit!ʼ Xian Xianqin immediately stomped her right leg behind her, pointed her green sword at the demon, and released her full strength.

*Swoosh*

Following that, Xian Xianqin hastened toward the demon, focusing her gaze solely on its head, specifically its neck. As they faced each other, the demon was about to punch her, but she immediately jumped up in a sideways position, slashing her sword at its neck. ʼWind edge slash!ʼ

*Splurt*

Blood spurted from the demonʼs neck, instantly flinging its head upwards, and its body fell to the ground, scattering human souls into the air. Xian Xianxin herself immediately landed on the ground unsteadily, but Zhang Fei suddenly appeared behind her and supported her. ”Sorry, Iʼm late, Qinʼer.”

”Hah... Hah...” Xian Xianqin panted heavily and leaned her body into Zhang Feiʼs arms. ”I can deal with the other demons, but this one is different from them. It can use a soul attack, so I have to use my full strength to kill it.”

”Iʼm here now, and I will protect you from these demons.” Zhang Fei then gave Xian Xianqin a piggyback ride, and he didnʼt forget to give her a Qi recovery pill so that she could recover her depleted Qi more quickly. ”Xinyueʼs location is a little far from here, and she seems to be struggling to fight them, so weʼll go there to save her.”

”Yeah.” Xian Xianqin then closed her eyes, circulated her breath, and absorbed Qi from the air.

Sometimes later, they arrived at Yun Xinyueʼs location, but she was lying exhausted on the ground with a dirty body, and her breathing was irregular. Despite her jealousy over Zhang Feiʼs rescue of Xian Xianqin before her, she remained silent and smiled at him. ”Please carry me, Fei. I have never felt this tired before, especially since these demons are too persistent in attacking me, so my qi is very thin now, and my body doesnʼt want to compromise on moving.”

”Honestly, Iʼve been watching you from a faraway location, and your fighting skills are quite impressive, especially since these demons are not easy to defeat.” Zhang Fei immediately put a Qi recovery pill into Yun Xinyueʼs mouth and carried her like a princess, particularly considering that Xian Xianqin was sleeping on his back. ”The others should have gathered at the exit, so weʼll go there directly.”

”Yeah.” Yun Xinyue then buried her face in Zhang Feiʼs chest and savored his manly scent. ”Iʼll sleep first to recover.”

When Zhang Fei arrived at the exit, he saw Zhou Meiling there with a sour look, especially since Xian Xianwu and the others ignored her. Moreover, Xian Changyue was with them, so she didnʼt dare to approach them.

Zhang Fei then led them to another area as he continued to carry the two women, making the female disciples wonder about their relationship. They knew that Xian Xianqin had fallen for him, but they never noticed that Yun Xinyue had also fallen for him, especially since she never showed it on her face.

Sometime later, they arrived at an empty room, and Zhou Meiling was still following them. Zhang Fei then laid the two women on the floor and asked the others to rest, but he and Xian Changyue remained awake while monitoring the Zhou Princess.

Zhou Meiling sat alone in front of them, hugged her legs, and buried her head between her knees. However, she repeatedly stole glances at Zhang Fei, thinking of ways to do something against him. ʼTch! This guy is extremely vigilant, and his soul power is very strong, making it impossible for me to possess him and take over his body. Moreover, Xian Changyue is constantly monitoring me, so I have to think of a way to separate him from them, and I have to weaken him first before taking over his body.ʼ

ʼWhat are your plans for her? Are you going to help her expel that womanʼs soul from her body?ʼ

Zhang Fei shook his head at Xian Changyue. ʼI have no relationship with her, so why should I help her? Furthermore, the Zhou Kingdom is your kingdomʼs adversary, and their strength will be weakened if their princess dies.ʼ

ʼYouʼre wrong about that.ʼ Xian Changyue then told Zhang Fei. ʼZhou Meiling is indeed talented, but she is not the main princess. There are several other princesses besides her, and the strongest one is Zhou Shenxin, whose cultivation is comparable to that of Zhou Tong. Furthermore, Zhou Xiaochuan views them as mere tools and doesnʼt care much about them, so her death wonʼt have a significant impact.ʼ

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding after he remembered Xian Xianqinʼs explanation a few days ago that Zhou Xiaochuan had dozens of children. ʼI have no plans against Zhou Meiling, but I want to do something about the womanʼs soul inside her body, especially since her soul is supposed to be strong.ʼ

ʼDo you intend to absorb that womanʼs soul?ʼ Xian Changyue asked with a frown.

ʼYes.ʼ Zhang Fei acknowledged it with a nod. ʼI have to meet someone in ten days, and that person is the best soul cultivator. Unfortunately, he will not be willing to meet me if my soul power has not been broken through to the initial stage of the earthly soul level, so I will use that womanʼs soul to boost my soul power.ʼ

ʼYouʼre crazy; do you know that?ʼ Zhang Fei smiled at Xian Changyueʼs remarks, causing her to sigh. ʼHey, I saw you dual soul cultivating with Bai Tianʼer before, and my niece is already halfway to becoming your woman, so I thought you could teach her the soul cultivation path and do it with her.ʼ

ʼI planned to teach Qinʼer about soul cultivation, but Iʼll wait until we leave this tower.ʼ Zhang Fei then asked Xian Changyue. ʼAre you interested in the soul cultivation path? Although not all cultivators have talent in that path, I can teach you to become one, and you will enjoy the benefits of being a soul cultivator.ʼ

Xian Changyue thought for a while before nodding. ʼAll right, I will learn about the soul cultivation path from you, and I will infiltrate the Huangfu Kingdom after I become one.ʼ

ʼI think you should think twice about infiltrating that kingdom.ʼ Xian Changyue wanted to refute him, but Zhang Fei hurriedly continued. ʼI suspect that the powerful cultivator behind Huangfu Shou is a cultivator from the upper realms, and you should remember that there are many techniques or artifacts that can see through our concealment. If my guess is right, that person probably has one of them, and they will capture you if you infiltrate there rashly. Moreover, there are not many strong cultivators in your kingdom, and your kingdom will be even weaker if you fall into their hands. Additionally, that person can help him control Bai Yaowei, so Iʼm sure that person will also help him control you, which will complicate your kingdomʼs situation.ʼ

Xian Changyue nodded her head repeatedly as a sign of understanding. ʼSo, what do you think I should do so that we can get information about the person behind Huangfu Shou?ʼ

ʼHmm?ʼ Zhang Fei furrowed his brows in thought. ʼHuangfu Shouʼs four children are in this tower, so I think we can capture one of them, and I can help you control him or her. That way, we can use him or her as our spy, eliminating the need for you to take risky actions to infiltrate their kingdom.ʼ

ʼDo you also have a technique for controlling others?ʼ Xian Changyue asked in surprise.

Zhang Fei realized that Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang had not told Xian Changyue about his demon identity. ʼI have one, and I can use it on one of them, but we must find them first.ʼ

ʼAll right; I will follow your plan.ʼ

Unfortunately, Zhang Fei didnʼt know yet that Huangfu Lian and his three siblings had been expelled from the Star Tower after he surrendered, and they had already returned to their kingdom.
