Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 567: The First Key

As they walked on either side of Zhang Fei, the two women kept wondering about their previous dreams. Xian Xianqin, who had already begun to feel attracted to him, didnʼt find it too bothersome, but she still thought it strange to dream about him.

Yun Xinyueʼs dream bothered her because she had not been attracted to Zhang Fei, and she only regarded him as her savior. Moreover, in her dream, their relationship seemed unusual. ʼAm I really attracted to him? Why do I have such a dream about him?ʼ

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei was plagued by numerous questions, particularly regarding several things that the mysterious woman had given him and implanted into his body. ʼWho exactly is that woman? Could it be that she and the Moonlit Passion Temple came from those mysterious realms? Why did she give the Forbidden Lotus Codex to me?ʼ

[After I read the sub-techniques in that technique, I discovered that the effects of some of them were similar to your lust demon lord abilities, Master.]

Zhang Fei nodded in agreement, having personally studied those sub-techniques. ʼUnlike the Flawless Yin-Yang Art, which unites our bodies, or the Soul Harmonization Method, which unites our souls, the Lotus Ascension Art requires us to unite our bodies, minds, and souls to form a singular new entity from our union. However, it is not easy to master it, especially since it requires unwavering hearts and absolute trust toward each other. If both partners lack these qualities and fail to form the new entity, we will face a severe backlash, and the worst scenario is that we will both perish.ʼ

[Master, it does sound difficult, but I think itʼs not a problem for you if you use it with your main harem members, but Iʼm a bit doubtful about all your partners.]

Zhang Fei did not deny Meiʼs opinion, especially since he was aware that his partners were different from his main harem members. Although they were always eager to dual-cultivate with his two clones, their feelings for him were not as deep as Liu Hua and the others, and their feelings might waver one day.

[Master, all of you have deep feelings for each other, but in my opinion, your feelings for Zhang Lin are the deepest, as you were each otherʼs first love, and she has been with you for a longer period than the others. Thatʼs why you should try the Lotus Ascension Art with her first, as Iʼm confident that the chances of the two of you forming a new entity are very high.]

Zhang Fei smiled upon hearing that. ʼYouʼre right; the feelings between me and Linʼer are indeed the deepest. Unfortunately, Iʼm still trapped in this maze, and Iʼll never dual cultivate with her using my clones, so Iʼll do it after I get back.ʼ

”Zhang Fei.” Both women called out softly.

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei turned to each of them individually. ”Whatʼs up?”

”What are you thinking about? Why are you so serious?” Xian Xianqin asked.

Yun Xinyue then added. ”Moreover, the way youʼre smiling at yourself gives me the impression that youʼre thinking about something perverted.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed at Yun Xinyueʼs words. ”Do you really think Iʼm that perverted, Princess Xinyue? I am indeed lustful, and my sex drive is very high, but that doesnʼt mean I canʼt control myself. If I were truly perverted, you two would have already lost your virginity to me, remember?”

After Zhang Fei mentioned that, the two princessesʼ faces turned red, and Yun Xinyue immediately ran towards the next room, which was not far in front of them. However, she did not dare go in there alone and instead waited for them.

Unlike the Yun Princess, Xian Xianqin immediately grabbed Zhang Feiʼs left hand. ”I donʼt know how I became like that, but Iʼm grateful that you didnʼt do anything to me. If you had done such a thing to me while my mind was in a mess, I wouldnʼt hesitate to kill you, and I would kill myself after that.”

”If other men were by your side just now, they would probably pounce on you right away. However, I am different from them and already have numerous women by my side, so I would never do such a thing to you.” Zhang Fei then lifted Xian Xianqinʼs chin and rubbed her lips with his other hand, causing her heart to pound. ”Even though we only kissed for a moment, your lips were really soft and sweet.”

Xian Xianqinʼs face turned completely red because Zhang Fei brought up their previous kiss, which was her first kiss with a man. Unfortunately, she kissed him in a confused state of mind, leaving him disappointed and regretful in her heart.

Xian Xianqin suddenly put her arms around Zhang Feiʼs neck, stood on tiptoes, and kissed him directly.

Zhang Fei immediately pulled Xian Xianqin closer, hugged her, and returned her kiss. However, the Xian Princess was still too amateur at kissing, so he guided her to kiss more slowly before increasing the rhythm of their kisses.

In the distance, Yun Xinyue stood in a daze as she watched Zhang Fei and Xian Xianqin kiss, but she then rubbed her lips as she recalled her kiss with him before.

Xian Xianqin was shocked when Zhang Feiʼs tongue entered her mouth, and she subconsciously pushed him back. ”Sorry, I didnʼt mean to push you like this.”

”Itʼs okay.” Zhang Fei immediately stopped her. ”This is your first conscious kiss, and you donʼt have much knowledge about kissing, so itʼs natural for you to be shocked and push me away.”

Xian Xianqin was relieved to hear that. ”Thank you for your understanding.”

”Letʼs go; we have to go to that room now.” Xian Xianqin nodded to Zhang Fei, and they immediately approached Yun Xinyue, who was standing at the front of the room. ”There are three paths ahead, so we must choose one, but I donʼt know what will await us at the end. Moreover, I feel that someone deliberately put us on a dangerous route, so we have to be more careful in choosing our next path.”

Both women nodded at Zhang Fei, and they felt the same as him, but Yun Xinyue then pointed to the door to their right. ”Do you think we should go there first?”

”Since you have already chosen our two paths, please let me choose ours this time.” Xian Xianqin then led them to the path on their left.

A while later, they reached the end of the path, only to find a three-headed giant beast lying in the spacious room. Moreover, the beastʼs form was very strange, and its body was a combination of several types of beasts. The beastʼs appearance shocked them, but then their gaze settled on a golden key around its neck.

”The first key!”

Zhang Fei immediately pulled both women behind him. ”This beast is not ordinary; this beast is a human creation. Despite its cultivation being limited to the heaven realm, we must exercise caution, particularly given its unknown abilities.”

”A beast created by humans?” Both women turned to him in shock.

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ”People call this beast a chimera; it is the result of experiments that combine the DNA of several beasts to create a new type of beast. Judging from its appearance, this beast is a combination of lion, serpent, dog, and scorpion.”

Xian Xianqin and Yun Xinyue reexamined the beast, finding its appearance to be exactly as Zhang Fei had described. However, they could not recognize the types of beasts that made up its body, especially since it did not exist anywhere. ”Are you thinking about facing this beast alone?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei then took out the moonlit whisper sword. ”You two need to wait here, and you can move if Iʼm unable to defeat this beast.”

Zhang Fei immediately entered the room and activated his heavenly fox aura, causing the beast to open its eyes slowly. However, it did not flinch before the pressure of his aura, and it immediately rose to its feet before releasing three different sounds.

”Hiss.”

”Roar.”

”Bark.”

The beast swung its scorpion tail toward Zhang Fei, but Zhang Fei immediately teleported, causing the attack to hit the ground. The poison that emerged from the tip caused the ground to melt.

”Oh?” Zhang Fei smiled, seeing their reactions. ”You guys are really great! Not many beasts can withstand my beast aura, but you are still not my opponent.”

Zhang Fei immediately teleported several times to confuse the beast, but its three heads sniffed his location, and its serpent head opened its mouth wide before shooting black venom at him.

Once again, Zhang Fei evaded the beastʼs attack, and its venom melted the wall behind him, causing the two women to become tense as they watched them.

Yun Xinyue immediately took out her spear and wanted to move in, but Xian Xianqin grabbed her hand and stopped her. ”If Zhang Fei is serious, he can kill this beast with one strike, so we donʼt need to move now.”

”Then why is he wasting time with this beast?” Yun Xinyue inquired with a frown.

”I donʼt know.” Xian Xianqin replied as she tried to read Zhang Feiʼs movements, but he moved too fast. ”This beast is not as strong as Huan Yao or Zhou Fang, so I am sure he can defeat it.”

However, a middle-aged man suddenly moves towards the two princesses from behind at full speed, and he doesnʼt give them a chance to react. He immediately knocked them unconscious, carried them on his shoulders, and took them away from the place.

Zhang Fei, who was fighting with the chimera beast, immediately noticed the middle-aged manʼs actions. He immediately released his full power and used his Clone Illusion Steps, which caused five illusions to appear around the beast, confusing it.

ʼTch! Iʼll come back later to subdue this chimera.ʼ Zhang Fei swiftly maneuvered beneath the beastʼs neck, grabbed the golden key, and hurried away to catch up with them.

The beast, realizing he had taken the golden key, tried to chase after Zhang Fei. However, the doorʼs formation bounced the beast back, causing it to release three enraged roars.

ʼHave you scanned the man, Mei?ʼ

[Master, I canʼt scan that guy because his speed is too fast, and the systemʼs detection capabilities are limited.]

Zhang Fei saw the middle-aged man take the two princesses to the road north, so he chased after them, but they had already disappeared by the time he got there.

[Master, the wall on your left is just an illusion, and the man took them away through the path behind it.]

Zhang Fei immediately moved along the road, but he encountered two fork roads. He then used his natural awareness ability to track the two women, and he proceeded straight down the right path as their qi was moving through it. A thick rock suddenly blocked the path behind him as soon as he entered it. He frowned at that, but he immediately ignored it and focused on chasing them.

Before long, Zhang Fei arrived at the room at the end of the path, but it was a dead end, and the qi of the two women also disappeared from his sight. He was certain that the middle-aged man couldnʼt escape from the room, so he checked the walls on all three sides, but neither he nor Mei could find any other path. The area below them was also solid ground, so they couldnʼt possibly disappear down.

Since there were no other paths, Zhang Fei looked up at the ceiling before crouching down, and he jumped immediately up with full strength. As he expected, he managed to pass through the ceiling of the room, which led him to a small garden.

Zhang Fei arrived and saw the middle-aged man standing in the center of the room, his arms crossed in front of his chest, while the two princesses were unconscious and chained to the wall at the far back.

Zhang Fei immediately questioned the middle-aged man. ”Who are you? Why did you kidnap them?”

”A little brat like you doesnʼt deserve to know my name.” The middle-aged man immediately took a fighting stance with both his fists clenched. ”If you want to get them back, you have to defeat me first. If you lose to me, they will die here.”

[Master, the system cannot scan his status, so you should be careful when fighting him.]

Zhang Fei nodded slightly, stored his sword, and walked in front of the middle-aged man. ”I may be a little brat in your eyes, but I am much more manly than you, and I would never threaten others by holding their comrades hostage. Since you are so eager to fight with me, I will face you now.”

The middle-aged man smirked slightly before disappearing from his spot, but he reappeared behind Zhang Fei in a split second, and he immediately threw his fist toward his back.

However, Zhang Fei immediately delivered a kick to the middle-aged manʼs abdomen, causing him to stagger with a shocked expression.

Zhang Fei immediately spun around, moved in front of the middle-aged man, and punched his right fist toward his face.

Immediately, the middle-aged man crossed both arms in front of his face to block Zhang Feiʼs attack, but his attack knocked him back several steps.

”Is this your maximum speed?” Zhang Fei asked with disdain in his tone. ”If your speed is only this much, then Iʼm disappointed.”

*Boom*

”Bastard!” The middle-aged man roared and sprinted towards Zhang Fei, using his full power to attack him. ”I will destroy your arrogance and kill you, arrogant brat!”

”Heh!” Zhang Fei snorted and skillfully dodged every attack from the middle-aged man, particularly as his attacks appeared to move in slow motion before his eyes. ”Arenʼt you a hypocrite, Old Brat? You arrogantly insulted me earlier, but you canʼt accept my insults and call me arrogant.”

Since he still hadnʼt managed to land a hit on Zhang Fei, the middle-aged man became even more furious at his words, and his aura immediately exploded, boosting his speed and attack power.

However, the middle-aged man was shocked when Zhang Fei suddenly grabbed his right hand, especially since his speed had increased several times compared to his original speed.

Zhang Fei immediately threw him into the air before flying towards him, but the middle-aged man right away stabilized himself there and prepared to attack him.

Zhang Feiʼs five illusions swiftly encircled him, prompting the middle-aged man to remain vigilant. The five immediately moved to attack him, so he retaliated by attacking them, but all of his attacks were passed through them.

Before the middle-aged man could react, Zhang Fei had already appeared behind him and punched him with both fists directly, sending him flying forward.

However, Zhang Fei did not stop there; he immediately attacked the middle-aged man in succession, starting from his head, chest, stomach, both hands, and legs, causing him pain.

Ending his series of attacks, Zhang Fei swung his qi-covered right leg towards his head, causing the middle-aged manʼs body to slide towards the ground swiftly.

Just before his body slammed onto the ground, the middle-aged man immediately corrected his position. He stomped both feet onto the ground, causing the ground beneath him to dip inward. He then looked up at Zhang Fei, who was standing in the air with a disdainful smile on his face. ʼWhat the hell with this brat? How does he actually train? How can he have such a high speed when his cultivation is still at the ten mortal realms?ʼ

”Old Brat, I canʼt kill you because your cultivation is much higher than mine, but you will never be able to defeat me with your pathetic speed.” The middle-aged man became even more enraged upon hearing Zhang Fei address him as such. ”You are a member of the Immortal Soul Palace, and your sect is located in the realms beyond the upper realms, right?”

The middle-aged man was shocked to hear that. ”How do you know about that?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed at his question. ”I had guessed from the start that this tower did not belong to the middle or upper realms, and I was slightly convinced when the little girl who gave me the test on the demon heart challenge slipped off the tongue about her master. If my guess was correct, her master is your master, and that person controls this tower.”
