Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 587: Fight The Boss

Since the chimera beast was too strong, Long Chen and Long Tian immediately leaped into the air and transformed into their dragon form, which was significantly larger than the beast.

Long Chenʼs dragon form was sky blue, and Long Tianʼs dragon form was whitish blue. They immediately opened their mouths wide and released a deafening dragon roar, causing the entire area to shake violently.

However, the chimera beast was not intimidated by their dragon roars, especially since it had several mythical beast bloodlines in its body, and it still had some bloodlines from several other beasts.

Xi Xianzi, the fairy, also flew into the sky, closed her eyes, and clasped her hands together. Her mouth muttered the language of her race, and a wide white circle quickly formed above the chimera beast. ”Radiant Dawn Formation!”

In that instant, countless white lights descended from the white circle and surrounded the chimera beast like a cage, blinding its line of sight.

The brown wolf Langʼs body rapidly grew, transforming his appearance into one of terror. His muzzle sprouted sharp teeth, his claws grew longer and sharper, and his fine hairs turned into porcupine-like quills.

Lang then dashed toward the chimera beast with lightning speed, and he immediately jumped high into the air before diving down onto its back. He ran there while stabbing his claws at its back, but it immediately threw him back, forcing him to land a little bit in front of it.

Xian Jinglan immediately took out her golden wood staff and tapped the back end on the ground, and a large shady tree quickly grew behind her. Immediately, the tree released several balls of green and white, engulfing all the members of their teams.

Xian Jinglan then pointed her staff into the air while reciting the language of the elf race, and a white-green light shot out toward the chimera beast. The light then broke into several pieces and fell around the beast while many thick tree roots emerged from the ground, binding it.

Since she was a soul cultivator, Bai Tianʼer immediately used her soul technique. In a split second, five women shadows that resembled her emerged from her body, and they flew straight towards the chimera beast.

The five shadows immediately entered the chimera beastʼs body, causing it to shake its head repeatedly as it struggled in place.

Long Tian and Long Chen shot fireballs at the chimera beast, which directly hit it. However, the beast immediately let out a loud roar accompanied by a soul attack, but it did not affect them too much, and the non-soul cultivators did not feel the nauseating sensation like before.

Zhang Fei was already standing beside the chimera beast, using his clone illusion steps to confuse it. He then teleported repeatedly around the beast as he slashed the moonlit whisper sword through its body, leaving several sword wounds on it.

Meanwhile, the demon extermination sword flew around the chimera beast and attempted to injure it with repeated slashes. Unfortunately, the beastʼs skin was too tough and thick, so their attacks were unable to give it deep wounds.

The giant race, Zheng Ru, was eager to attack the chimera beast. Unfortunately, he was not a soul cultivator and a close-range fighter, so he did not dare to move rashly to attack it.

Although Jin Dabao was not a soul cultivator, he was a dwarf with two elements: earth and metal. Since he could not use his metal element for long-range attacks, he used his earth element to manipulate the ground beneath the beasts, causing it to sway in various directions as the ground became too soft and wavy.

Since Zhang Fei and Lang were close-range fighters, Xian Xianqin was the first to react, using her wind element to boost their speed.

The other team members naturally wouldnʼt stay still. Ye Zhiqiu, with her ice element, created several large ice balls and threw them at the beast. Yu Chongming and Ru Yanyue immediately shot several flames at them, melting them instantly.

As the water rained down on the chimera beast, Xian Xianwu and Yun Xinyue quickly moved to attack it using several lightning bolts, electrocuting it.

The other humans, beast races, and natural races also attack the chimera beast using ranged attacks.

Despite facing numerous attacks, the chimera beast remained upright and showed no signs of pain. Suddenly, a white light enveloped its body, healing any injuries it had sustained.

[Master, this beast not only has a very strong body, but it also has an astonishing recovery speed, and your combined attacks have no significant effect on it. Unfortunately, your numbers are not that many, and many of them will run out of qi before you can defeat it if this situation continues.]

Zhang Fei immediately flew away as he shouted to Long Tian, Long Feng, and Lang, who were near the chimera beast. ”Back off! We canʼt attack it head-on like this, or weʼll run out of Qi first.”

The three immediately followed Zhang Feiʼs words and moved away from it, but the chimera beast immediately shot several colored balls at them, one of which was a poison ball.

”Fend off its other attacks! Iʼll handle the poison one!” Zhang Fei shouted as he flew towards the poison ball and slashed it with the moonlit whisper sword, causing it to split and splash in all directions, including wetting her body.

Long Feng and the others swiftly attacked the other balls, destroying them with their combined strikes.

”Fei!” Xian Xianqin shouted in panic after seeing that, and she wanted to fly toward Zhang Fei.

However, Xian Changyue immediately grabbed Xian Xianqinʼs hand to stop her, especially since she already knew that he was immune to poison. ”Look at him! Heʼs fine, so you donʼt have to panic like this.”

Zhang Fei immediately cleansed the poison in his body, teleported to them, and landed in front of them. ”Itʼs okay, Qinʼer. The chimera beastʼs poison has no effect on me, especially since I am completely immune to it.”

Xian Xianqin breathed a sigh of relief and nodded after seeing that Zhang Fei was fine. ”You have to be more careful, okay?”

”Yeah.” Long Chen and Long Tian, who had returned to their human forms, immediately landed beside them. Xian Jinglan and Xi Xianzi also approached them. ”Despite its high cultivation, the beastʼs attacks are not particularly powerful, with the exception of its soul attack. However, its body thickness and recovery speed are really troublesome, and thereʼs no way we can defeat it with just our numbers.”

Xian Jinglan nodded in agreement. ”Our only option now is to stay away from the beast for the time being, and we have to wait for the other groups to arrive.”

The chimera beast suddenly launched several powerful soul attacks, but Zhang Fei and several soul cultivators immediately blocked them using their soul power.

”We should spread out to avoid the soul beastʼs attacks, especially since its attacks become very powerful if we gather like this.” Xi Xianzi spoke to them. ”Moreover, it wonʼt be able to charge at us, so weʼll be safe as long as we stay on the sidelines, and we only need to fend off its long-range attacks.”

”In that case, we should lead our respective groups, and we will try to attack this beast from several sides.” After they agreed, Long Feng and Long Tian led their group members to the left side, but they still kept a distance from the beast.

Xian Jinglan and Xi Xianzi also rejoined their group, and they moved to the right side of the beast as they guarded against its attacks.

”What should we do now?” Xian Changyue asked Zhang Fei.

”Let me think first.” Zhang Fei replied with his serious gaze fixed on the chimera beast, especially since it was the strongest beast he had ever faced in terms of cultivation and bloodline. Although the moonlit whisper sword was a divine grade, he was sure that it was not stronger than the demon extermination sword, so he asked for the sword to return. ”Let me use you to try something.”

*Zing... Zing... Zing...*

Zhang Fei then held his sword with both hands above his head and thought about his next move. ʼThe darkness of corruption can weaken it, but it will expose my identity, so I canʼt use it in front of them. I canʼt use the demon claw either, so the only thing I can use now is the hellflames incantation. Iʼll try combining it with the sword elemental method and sword energy method, and I hope it can injure this beast.ʼ

After he thought about it, Zhang Fei immediately channeled his fire, darkness, and wind elements into his sword, and he strengthened both of them with their element laws. His fire and darkness elements were to execute the technique, and his wind element was to strengthen it.

When Zhang Fei was ready, he immediately swung his sword and simultaneously used all three techniques. A huge crescent-shaped dark red sword energy quickly shot towards the chimera beast, leaving a trail of flames on the ground.

The chimera beast hurriedly launched a massive water ball from its mouth, which collided with Zhang Feiʼs attack. However, his attack immediately split its attack in two, continued moving towards it, and directly slashed its body.

*Roar*

*Bam... Bam...*

The chimera beast roared in pain and stomped its feet on the ground when Zhang Feiʼs hellflames spread and burned its body, but his hellflames couldnʼt really hurt the beast because its body quickly recovered, and his hellflames slowly disappeared. ʼWhoever created this beast, that person must be a madman!ʼ

Suddenly, the gate opened again, and four other groups rushed in. They were surprised for a moment when they saw Zhang Fei and the others, but their expressions turned to shock at the size and cultivation of the chimera beast, making them feel a little hopeless because it was too strong for them.

Li Yao and Xian Qifeng immediately led their group to join Zhang Feiʼs group, and he explained to them about the beastʼs abilities, so they immediately took out their weapons to join in the attack.

Meanwhile, Xian Yu guided his group to a different location, refraining from joining any existing groups. However, they had heard Zhang Feiʼs explanation earlier, so they also prepared to attack the beast.

Not long after, the two demon groups also arrived at that place, and they immediately scattered while waiting for the others to move.

ʼBrother, this beast is too strong, and we will never be able to defeat it. Our lives are much more important, so I think we should surrender now.ʼ Ximen Yueliang whispered to Ximen Hongwu as she glanced at the chimera beast.

Ximen Hongwu immediately rejected his sisterʼs wishes. ʼOur parents have always shielded you, so you have never directly encountered the harshness of the cultivation world.ʼ I myself do not want to die, but I am not a coward. Furthermore, I am a demon prince who will inherit our fatherʼs legacy in the future. If I surrender now, I will never be able to face our enemies.ʼ

ʼYou! Foolish brother! I donʼt care about you, so you can go and die!ʼ Ximen Yueliang then retreated as far away from their group as possible.

Ximen Hongwu sighed heavily because his sister was too cowardly; he then looked toward the other groups, wondering about their plans to defeat the beast.

On the other side, Qian Ying was also having a discussion with her master, but Ximen Yan forbade her from moving and asked her to wait for the others to move first.

Ximen Yan then turned to Zhang Fei, who seemed to be in deep thought. ʼWhatʼs your next plan, kid? The others are indeed much stronger than you, but I believe that you are the key to defeating this beast.ʼ

Zhou Tong, who joined them, looked anxious, especially since he had not found his brother and sister. He glanced at the gate repeatedly and waited for their arrival, but unfortunately, he did not know that Zhou Tai was dead and Zhou Meiling was in Zhang Feiʼs hands.

A short while later, another group arrived, and Bai Chongxi intended to lead his group to the opposite side. However, Bai Shouyi intervened and instructed them to move closer to Zhang Feiʼs group in case the other groups attempted to attack them, allowing them to seek his assistance if necessary.

ʼAre you sure he will help us? How will he help us?ʼ Bai Chongxi asked his sister.

ʼIʼm sure he will definitely help us.ʼ Bai Shouyi stole a glance at Zhang Fei before continuing. ʼHowever, I donʼt know how he will help us, so we can only wait for the right time.ʼ

Bai Chongxi nodded in response. ʼFor the time being, we donʼt need to think about that, and we should focus on defeating this terrifying beast.ʼ

Zhang Fei, contemplating a strategy to defeat the chimera beast, repeatedly glanced at the other groups, puzzled by the Huangfu Kingdom groupʼs absence.

Xian Changyue, standing beside him, was equally perplexed by this. She thought that something had happened to the group from the Huangfu Kingdom, which would thwart Zhang Feiʼs plans for them if that happened. Additionally, she was also confused because she did not find Zhou Tai by Zhou Tongʼs side, especially since he could not possibly leave his brother alone.

*Roar*

The chimera beast suddenly let out another loud roar, and its aura gradually grew stronger, causing them to become tense. As they expected, it immediately launched several long-range attacks toward all of them at once, which were accompanied by powerful soul attacks, overwhelming the groups that did not have soul cultivators in their entourage.

The leaders of each group immediately ordered their members to counter the chimera beastʼs attacks, and several explosions occurred after their attacks collided with each other.

[Master, you have no choice but to use the darkness corruption, or you will continue to be stuck here if you donʼt defeat this beast.]

Zhang Fei let out a soft sigh and nodded slightly, but then he remembered someone. He immediately looked at Ximen Yan and sent a voice transmission to him, especially since he had long been aware that someone elseʼs soul was controlling him. He was certain that the soul was part of the souls trapped in the Star Tower, which meant the soul also came from the realms beyond the upper realms.

Upon receiving Zhang Feiʼs voice transmission, Ximen Yan immediately soared into the sky and opened both palms forward, causing darkness to spread throughout the entire area quickly.

All the groups, including Zhang Feiʼs group, became wary of Ximen Yanʼs actions, fearing that he might attack them in the darkness.

Without further delay, Zhang Fei unleashed the demon claw, instantly directing the chimera beastʼs attention toward the ethereal demon claw above it.

As soon as the chimera beast attacked the claw, Zhang Fei immediately teleported behind it, used the darkness corruption, and unleashed the demon kingʼs roar, which caused the beast to stagger and shake its head.

Seeing that, Zhang Fei used the hellflames incantation once again, along with the abyssal lightning tribulation, to attack the chimera beast. Additionally, he utilized another sub-technique from the Nine Demon Secret Scripture: Nine Nether Fiend Summoning, which resulted in the appearance of nine massive black gates surrounding the chimera beast.

A few seconds later, nine terrifying dark creatures emerged from each gate. They immediately attacked the chimera beast with brutality, causing it to continue roaring and attacking blindly.

”Deflect its attacks!” Zhang Fei immediately returned to his group membersʼ side to help them block the chimera beastsʼ attacks.

Not only his group, but the other groups also immediately moved to fend off the chimera beastʼs attack outside their confusion, especially since it suddenly attacked them blindly. After all, Ximen Yanʼs darkness blocked their vision and senses, and Zhang Fei disguised all his attacks through the darkness, so none of them noticed his actions except for the male demon.

Although all of Zhang Feiʼs attacks had a significant impact on the chimera beast, its regeneration ability allowed its injuries to continue to recover.

”I will fight the beast head-on.” Before Xian Xianqin could stop him, Zhang Fei had already disappeared from their side, and he had moved to the beastʼs side again.
