Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 579: Work Together

Zhang Fei immediately used his enhanced condition ability to increase his speed and body strength, and he also used the Soul Connect II to borrow the power of all the beasts in his beast space. He also summoned the demon extermination sword. ”Letʼs go.”

As soon as he entered the room, Zhang Fei immediately used the clone illusion steps to distract the beast, but he teleported continuously and found a way to make it stand up, especially since the beast was stronger than him. Additionally, he used the abyssal lightning tribulation technique, triggering the appearance of black clouds and lightning flashes in the room.

Xian Changyue was momentarily surprised to see it, but she immediately dashed around the beast, which began to attack Zhang Feiʼs clone illusions.

The beast immediately launched its thorns at Zhang Feiʼs clone illusions, dispelling them with a massive shockwave and deadly poison.

ʼCrap! Its shockwave dispelled my technique.ʼ Zhang Fei used his movement technique a few times after his illusions disappeared, making them appear endless.

The beast suddenly raised both of its front legs and stomped them to the floor, but Xian Changyue immediately jumped to avoid its attack, trying to attack its side body directly instead. Unfortunately, her short sword couldnʼt penetrate its thick skin, and it immediately swung its tail towards her to fight back.

Zhang Fei swiftly teleported behind Xian Changyue and took her away to avoid the beastʼs tail, but the beastʼs sudden loud roar and intense aura pressure made Zhang Feiʼs movements sluggish. He took her into an invisible state to avoid the beastʼs detection, but its eyes were able to see through his invisibility and attacked them with a few spikes.

Zhang Fei and Xian Changyue immediately blocked the spikes, but the demon extermination sword suddenly sprang out of his grasp and attacked the beast. It swiftly cut clean the spikes on the beastʼs back, infuriating it.

”Move out, Zhang Fei!”

Without hesitation, Zhang Fei teleported out and brought Xian Changyue to land directly in front of the door. However, the demon extermination sword did not return to his hand and continued to attack the beast, slashing its face.

*Roar*

*Drap... Drap...*

They turned around upon hearing the sound of people running, and Xian Changyue scowled as his group members disregarded her instructions to wait in the room at the opposite end of the pathway.

”Aunt, we are a group, so we canʼt leave you two behind.” Xian Xianqin then drew her green sword. ”Even though we canʼt fight the beast head-on, we can still use long-range attacks to attack it.”

”Xianqin is right, Aunt.” Xian Xianwu spoke as he spread his white fan out. ”This beast is strong, but it might get exhausted if we keep attacking it, so let us help you guys.”

Yuan Luo and the others nodded in agreement with their prince and princess, causing Xian Changyue to let out a soft sigh. ”All right, those of you who have long-range techniques can help us, but I wonʼt let you close-range fighters fight it because it is very strong and agile; even Zhang Fei and I have a hard time facing it.”

”Yes!”

”Return!” The demon extermination sword immediately returned to Zhang Feiʼs hand, and he right away took a closer look at the wounds on the beastʼs body. Although the wounds on its body were not too severe or deep, the number was quite large. ʼDoes this beast also have a demon bloodline, Mei?ʼ

[It seems so, Master. However, the system couldnʼt detect its demon bloodline, so I canʼt say for sure.]

*Bam... Bam...*

Since the beast was fully enraged, it repeatedly slammed its tail toward the entrance. It also fired shockwaves and poison from its mouth, but the formation that covered it prevented its attacks from passing through.

[Master, you may be able to penetrate the beastʼs skin with the moonlit whisper sword, but you must attack it directly. Additionally, I believe you can use the essence absorption technique to absorb its beast essence, as its cultivation is in the seven divine realms, potentially yielding a significant amount of beast essence.

Zhang Fei himself had thought about using that technique, but the beastʼs strength was simply overpowering him, so he couldnʼt do it rashly. However, now that his other group members were with them, he could use their assistance to get closer to the beast before executing his technique.

”Senior Changyue, the two of us will attack the beast like before, but we must use hit-and-run tactics.” Zhang Fei then turned to the others. ”Senior Sister Tianʼer, use your soul technique to disturb its mind, and Senior Sister Zhiqiu, use her ice to freeze the floor beneath it so it will have a hard time counterattacking us.”

”All right.” Bai Tianʼer and Ye Zhiqiu responded with a nod.

Zhang Fei then turned to the other three. ”Senior Brother Chongming and Senior Sister Yanyue, use your fire elements, while Xianqin will use her wind elements to enhance your techniques.”

”Got it!” The three responded simultaneously.

”Prince Xianwu and Princess Xinyue, you two can use your lightning elements, but you two only need to use a single target technique.” Xian Xianwu and Yun Xinyue immediately nodded to Zhang Fei. ”Senior Siter Luo, Senior Brother Ximen, and Senior Brother Shanhu, the three of you are close-range fighters, so you guys donʼt need to join us in attacking the beast.”

Ximen Chuixue, Yuan Luo, and Ying Shanhu immediately agreed with Zhang Feiʼs order.

”Senior Sister Zhiqiu, freeze the floor now.” Ye Zhiqiu immediately crouched right in front of the door and used one of her ice techniques, causing the floor inside the room to freeze quickly.

However, the beast repeatedly stamped its front feet and shattered the ice, and it also spat out its poison, causing Ye Zhiqiu to melt instantly.

”Use your soul technique now, Senior Sister Tianʼer.”

Bai Tianʼer nodded to Zhang Fei, released her soul, and attacked the beast directly, causing it to fall into a daze. ”I canʼt use it for too long, so you guys should move now.”

Yu Chongming and Ru Yanyue immediately used their fire element techniques, causing a firestorm to surround the beast and countless fire arrows to appear above it. Xian Xianqin immediately used her wind technique, strengthening the attack from the firestorm and fire arrows.

*Roar*

The beast let out a furious roar as soon as they attacked it, and it opened its mouth wide to strike back, but several white and purple bolts of lightning instantly struck its head as soon as Xian Xianwu and Yun Xinyue used their lightning techniques, forcing it to step back.

Zhang Fei ordered the demon extermination sword to shoot toward the beast, then quickly retrieved the moonlit whisper sword before reentering the room. ”Letʼs go, Senior Changyue!”

Xian Changyue immediately followed Zhang Fei into it, but she took a detour and moved behind the beast to attack its tail. The tail was very long and troublesome, so she wanted to cut it off first.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei used his abyssal lightning tribulation, hellflame incantation, demonic force manipulation, and exorcismus all at once. The combination of their attacks overwhelmed and confused the beast, causing it to counterattack randomly and repeatedly stomp its front legs on the ground.

Zhang Fei immediately used his invisibility, moved to the side of the beast, enveloped the moonlit whisper sword with his dark flame, and slashed it against its body.

*Splurt*

As expected, Zhang Fei managed to inflict a deep slashing wound on the beastʼs body, causing its poisonous blood to spray on him. However, it did not affect him thanks to his poison immunity, but he immediately warned Xian Changyue to be careful because the poison was lethal to her.

Zhang Fei then touched the beastʼs body, and he used his essence absorption ability and demon absorbing technique on it, causing it to roar in pain.

*Roar*

However, Zhang Feiʼs actions caused the beast to become berserk, and its aura increased severalfold. It immediately attacked blindly without regard for itself, shooting its shockwave and poison, and its tail attacked randomly, forcing Xian Changyue to move away from it hurriedly.

Unlike her, Zhang Fei immediately moved onto the beastʼs back and grabbed one of the thorns that the demon extermination sword had previously cut. He continued to use his essence absorption ability and demon absorbing technique against it, but its cultivation was simply too high, so it was still far from weakening.

Outside the room, Xian Xianqin and the others continued to use their respective techniques to attack the beast, and they were forced to swallow recovery pills to recover their Qi, especially since their techniques drained a lot of their Qi.

The demon extermination sword continued to strike the beast, concentrating on its head to prevent it from attacking Zhang Fei or Xian Changyue.

After they relentlessly fought it for two full hours, and Zhang Fei never stopped using both of his absorbing abilities, the beast began to weaken visibly. Even its attacks, particularly its tail attacks, were no longer as powerful as they once were.

However, the beast was not completely weakened, and it continued to struggle to fight back against them.

After another two hours, the beast looked significantly weaker because Zhang Fei continuously absorbed its life force, soul force, and beast essence.

Seeing the beast stagger, Xian Changyue immediately controlled her two short swords using her qi and stabbed them into its stomach because its blood was poisonous, causing the beast to roar in pain and frustration.

Zhang Fei immediately accelerated his actions in absorbing its life force, soul force, and beast essence. Eventually, the beast collapsed on the floor, exhaling its last breath, and its massive body appeared extremely dry.

*Rumble... Rumble...*

With the death of the chimera beast, the wall behind it immediately opened by itself, revealing the treasure chest.

[You gained 5,000,000 Beast Essence from Chimera Beast.]

”Phew.” Zhang Fei let out a sigh of relief after the chimera beast died, and he was very satisfied to get so much beast essence from it. The demon extermination sword immediately returned to his side and entered his body, and he stored the moonlit whisper sword again. ʼHow much more beast essence do I need to evolve to six-tails, Mei?ʼ

[You only need two hundred and fifty thousand more beast essences, Master. After you leave this tower, you can dual-cultivate with Boitata, Zhang Yue, Zhang Lingxue, Shen Yu, and Shen Xueyi. This will enable you to evolve to six-tails immediately, but you will require a significant amount of beast essence to evolve to seven-tails, so you will need to seek assistance from numerous stronger female beasts.]

Naturally, Zhang Fei had already realized it, especially since his demon rank required one hundred and eighty million female essences to rise to the archduke rank. Therefore, he guessed that he would also need that much beast essence to evolve to six tails.

ʼAre you okay?ʼ Zhang Fei nodded to Xian Changyue, who had just landed beside him. ʼWhat kind of technique did you use on this beast? Why did its body dry up like this?ʼ

ʼYour brother and sister-in-law must have told you about my beastʼs identity, right?ʼ Xian Changyue nodded in response to Zhang Feiʼs question. ʼI needed too much beast essence to evolve, and this chimera beast had a lot, so I absorbed most of it.ʼ

Xian Changyue frowned immediately. ʼWouldnʼt using such a shortcut harm you?ʼ

ʼYes.ʼ Zhang Fei did not deny that. ʼI rarely use my ability, and I only use it when I meet a beast as strong as this chimera beast, but itʼs very rare because Iʼm not that crazy to go into the nest of a beast that is much stronger than me. Moreover, my beast form hasnʼt evolved for a long time, and I really canʼt wait for my next evolution, so I used it this time.ʼ

ʼI see.ʼ Xian Changyue nodded in understanding before warning Zhang Fei. ʼI can understand your desire to become strong, but you should always be careful in using such shortcuts, lest you suffer the backlash. My niece has fallen in love with you, and I donʼt want her to suffer because something happened to you.ʼ

”Fei!” Zhang Fei immediately turned to Xian Xianqin and welcomed her into his arms. ”Are you hurt?”

”The beast might have hurt Senior Changyue and me if you guys hadnʼt come here, but weʼre fine, thanks to all of your help.” Zhang Fei immediately brought the two women down from the beastʼs corpse and stored it in the inventory, allowing Mei to examine the remains. He then turned to his group members, and most of them looked exhausted after using their full strength for several hours. ”You guys can open the treasure chest, and weʼll rest here until we fully recover.”

Bai Tianʼer and the others agreed with that, and they immediately sat down on the other side of the wall. Since they did not join their fight, Ximen Chuixue, Yuan Luo, and Ying Shanhu immediately opened the treasure chest and brought everything before them.

ʼHaving a lot of clones is convenient, so I donʼt have to take care of the two daily quests myself. Unfortunately, I can only have a maximum of five clones; thatʼs acceptable.ʼ Zhang Fei instructed them to divide the items among themselves, given that the only interesting items available were jewels. Moreover, he had already obtained a full treasure chest in the outer area, and he had also obtained so many beast essences from the chimera beast. Additionally, he still had his two shops in the Sky Jade Realm, so it wasnʼt difficult for him to get jewels. As for coins, his restaurant in the Nine Stars Realm is always busy, and he will also open his new shop soon.

Zhang Fei then took Xian Xianqin to the opposite side to rest, but Yun Xinyue decided to join them. The two women sat flanking him, resting their heads on his shoulders. Bai Tianʼer, who was sitting in the distance, felt jealous of them.

ʼIt seems that Xinyue has also started to fall in love with you, Fei.ʼ Xian Xianqin whispered through voice transmission as she observed Yun Xinyue, who had fallen asleep because her condition had not fully recovered and the previous fight had consumed a lot of her energy.

Zhang Fei realized that ever since he saved Yun Xinyueʼs life from Bai Shouyiʼs poison, he could see the change in her attitude when they met those vengeful souls. She became more attached to him after the test in the underground bedroom because he gave her a dream about him, and he gave her another dream after she was trapped in the illusion. ”You should also rest, Xianqin.”

”Yeah.” Xian Xianqin immediately hugged Zhang Feiʼs arm and closed her eyes.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei [1] and Zhang Lingxue were inside their newly renovated shop, and he had deliberately prepared a special room at the back for his wife to perform alchemy. ”So when are we going to open this shop, husband?”

”I will bring you back to the deserted valley in the Sky Jade Realm so you can choose herbs that are suitable to sell in this realm, and you can also go back to the central region to find Feng Yao and discuss it with her.” Zhang Lingxue nodded to Zhang Fei [1] because she was already familiar with all the types of herbs in that place, and many of them could be sold in the Nine Stars Realm. ”Currently, Zhang Fei [5] is learning blacksmithing from Tie Xuan in the Wasteland Realm, so I have to go to Earth to buy mattresses and other things, and I will pick you up again after I buy everything. After that, weʼll open this shop, but we must still beware of Alchemy Union members in the other three kingdoms.”

”All right, letʼs go now, and I hope Big Sis Yao is willing to join us in this realm.”
