Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 577: Upgraded

After they had flown for two full days, Zhang Xiaolong [3] and the two women from the Shang Clan finally arrived at the outskirts of the western island, and he immediately led them to find a place to rest as it was almost midnight. Moreover, they were not sure about the situation on the island because the demi-humans were very secretive and disliked humans, so they had to be more careful before going to meet them.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] led them to the edge of a river and made a campfire right away to warm their bodies, especially since the air temperature in the realm was much cooler than usual. He then checked his map to locate the four people who had followed them and found them on a small island a little way away from their location.

ʼHeh! You guys wonʼt be able to follow us anymore, and Iʼll bring these two ladies back with my warp portal later, so you can wait for us as long as you want.ʼ Zhang Xiaolong [3] then spoke to them. ”You guys should use your transformation techniques to transform into demi-human races, and I will disguise your auras so they wonʼt be able to recognize you.”

Both women nodded in agreement and used their transformation techniques straight away, leaving Zhang Xiaolong [3] dumbfounded. Shang Yaolin turned into a rabbit demi-human, and Shang Xinyu turned into a cat demi-human.

”Hehe.” Shang Yaolin giggled and teased Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Do you want to eat an innocent rabbit like me, Sir Fox?”

ʼSince when are you innocent?ʼ Zhang Xiaolong [3] then lifted Shang Yaolin onto his lap and planted a gentle kiss on her lips. ”Naturally, I want to eat you, little rabbit. Unfortunately, we canʼt do that now, or this miss cat will be embarrassed of us.”

Shang Yaolin immediately turned to Shang Xinyu. ”Do you want to try something intimate with Longʼer, Xinyu? I know that you have been interested in him for a long time, and I know this because you often call his name in your dreams.”

Shang Xinyu neither agreed nor denied it, but she knew that she liked Zhang Xiaolong [3] in her heart, especially after seeing his adult form for the first time, which matched the figure of the man in her dreams. Thatʼs why she decided to stay in her and Shang Yaolinʼs room, but Murong Qianyingʼs arrival three weeks ago forced her to return to her room.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] smiled faintly as he had long been aware of Shang Xinyuʼs feelings, but he had never done anything to her because he was different from Shang Yaolin. ”All right, you donʼt need to force Big Sister Xinyu, Big Sis Yaolin.”

After that, Zhang Xiaolong [3] grabbed their hands and used the body modification ability to alter their appearance slightly so they looked like real demi-humans. ”Anyway, letʼs rest now, and weʼll go to the nearest town tomorrow morning.”

However, Zhang Xiaolong [3] suddenly received a voice transmission from Tie Xuan, informing him that the extermination swordʼs upgrade was complete. ʼThree days faster than he estimated, huh?ʼ

Since his third clone was on the western island, Zhang Fei [5] immediately went to the Wasteland Realm to meet Tie Xuan, who right away handed him the demon extermination sword.

Before upgrading, the demon extermination sword was already black, but the upgrade made it even blacker. However, Zhang Fei [5] felt that his sword had become heavier, its blade sharper, and its aura more deadly, especially for demons.

*Zing... Zing...*

The demon extermination sword vibrated in excitement after it returned to Zhang Fei [5]ʼs hand, making him smile. He then rubbed the sword as he spoke. ”Not only did you miss me, but I missed you very much, and Iʼm glad we can be together again.”

”Are you satisfied with the results of the upgrade?” Tie Xuan asked him.

Zhang Fei [5] immediately returned the demon extermination sword to his body before answering him. ”Iʼm completely satisfied with the upgrade, Senior Brother.”

”Hahaha.” Tie Xuan laughed as he patted Zhang Fei [5]ʼs shoulder. ”Your sword is already a heaven-grade soul weapon now, and it can still be upgraded once or twice, but I donʼt have the materials for its next upgrade. If you want to upgrade it again, you have to go to the Xianjin Realm in the upper realms, but you wonʼt be able to do it now.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei [5] then asked him. ”Can I use your sword for a while?”

Tie Xuan nodded to him. ”No problem; you can use it for a while, and Iʼll let you know when Iʼm going to sell it. Since youʼre here now, Iʼll teach you how to forge a spirit-grade weapon properly, and you can use the materials available here to forge the perfect one.”

”All right.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately agreed with that because he really couldnʼt wait to increase his blacksmith rank so that he could forge quality equipment for those close to him.

Shang Wuzi, Shang Xiaoyin, Shang Jiali, and Shang Yifen did not dare to approach the western island because of the hostility of the demi-human races. Thatʼs why they chose to wait on a small island, but they were also curious about the reason Zhang Xiaolong [3] and the others went to the western island.

”Hey, Wuzi! Xinyu seems to be getting closer to that brat as the days go by.”

Shang Wuzi frowned at Shang Jialiʼs words. ”Although he can use the transformation technique to turn himself into an adult, he is still a kid, so I donʼt have to be afraid that he will take her away from me.”

”Are you sure about that?” Shang Wuzi turned to Shang Yifen directly. ”I believe Xinyu may be attracted to that kidʼs adult form, as he is more handsome than you.”

”Even if Xinyu is interested in him, I just need to report her to her parents, and they will take her away from this realm directly.” Shang Wuzi then asked Shang Xiaoyin, who looked serious. ”What are you thinking about?”

”That kid.” The three immediately raised their eyebrows. ”Have you forgotten what happened three and a half months ago? The four of us fell unconscious in that place, and we were unconscious for four whole days. Iʼve been thinking about it for months, and Iʼm convinced that the kid did it to us, even though I donʼt have any evidence yet. Unfortunately, he is close to Shang Yingyue and Qiao Liangren, so I canʼt do anything about him yet.”

”Why donʼt you ask your mother for help?”

Shang Xiaoyin frowned at Shang Wuzi. ”Donʼt you know my motherʼs character? Do you think she would take care of a little brat like him? Instead, she would scold me to the bone if I couldnʼt get rid of her, and she would lock me up in our clan.”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Shang Wuzi then looked towards the western island again. ”What exactly is their purpose in going there? That kid might be able to meet those demi-human races since he is a beast, but Yaolin and Xinyu are humans, and they will be hostile toward the two of them.”

Shang Xiaoyin, Shang Jiali, and Shang Yifen shook their heads in response. ”Letʼs monitor them for the time being, and weʼll ambush them once they leave the island.”

At the same time as the two notifications appeared, a riddle immediately appeared in front of the door, so Zhang Fei and Xian Xianqin right away checked it. ”I am both chaos and balance. I bring creation and destruction in equal measure. Cultivators can master me, yet I am never truly tamed. What am I?”

”What do you think is the answer to this riddle, Fei?” Xian Xianqin asked.

Zhang Fei raised his eyebrows as he contemplated the answer to the riddle, and Mei assisted him in finding it among numerous possibilities. ”I think I know someone who could have the answer.”

”Who?”

”Zhang Lin.”

”Huh?”

”Iʼll try to bring her here now.” Unfortunately, Zhang Fei failed when he tried to open the portal to the training space. ”Apparently, the formations in this place seal my private space, so I canʼt bring him here.”

Xian Xianqin nodded in understanding and turned toward the rooms. She informed everyone inside about the appearance of the riddle, prompting them all to rush out to take a closer look.

After reading the question, they immediately thought of their best answer and began answering it in turns. However, none of their answers were correct.

Shen Yu then walked towards the door and read the question again. ”I think I know the answer, husband.”

”Whatʼs the answer, Yuʼer?”

Shen Yu immediately explained. ”Chaos and balance represent two opposite things, as do creation and destruction. Cultivators can master it, but cannot tame it. Two things require balance, and they are vital for the survival of this universe. If one of them is higher than the other, then this universe will be destroyed.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei immediately understood Shen Yuʼs explanation. ”Chaos and balance, creation and destruction, life and death. The answer to this riddle is really easy, but I didnʼt think of it before, and it is Yin and Yang.”

*Swoosh*

Instantly, the array formation covering the door disappeared, allowing them to leave the house. However, Zhang Fei asked them to rest again, as it was still the middle of the night, and they were likely to face even more formidable obstacles, making it crucial to prepare themselves better.

Xian Changyue and the others accepted it, understanding their situation and retreating to their rooms to rest. However, Boitata, Shen Xueyi, and Shen Yu asked Zhang Fei to send them back into the beast space because they would only trouble him if they met with difficult obstacles.

Zhang Fei immediately tried to send them back, and it worked. After they disappeared, Xian Xianqin asked him. ”Can you send the Bai siblings to your private place? That way, we can send them to a safer place, and my father will help them investigate Huangfu Shou.”

”I did plan that, but I donʼt want them to see that place, so Iʼll make them unconscious before sending them there.” Xian Xianqin nodded in understanding and looked at Zhang Fei. ”After we get back from this tower, Iʼll take you there to train your speed.”

Xian Xianqin smiled at that. ”Thank you, Fei.”

Zhang Fei immediately carried Xian Xianqin, brought her to one of the rooms, and laid her down on the available bed. He then lay down beside her and hugged her. ”Letʼs sleep for now so we can continue our exploration with fresh bodies and minds.”

”Yeah.” Xian Xianqin immediately curled up on his chest with a sweet smile on her face. ʼIs this what is called fate? Iʼve kept my distance from men for so long, but I suddenly fell in love with a man who was much younger than me; he even had so many wives by his side.ʼ

Before long, Xian Xianqin had fallen into a sweet dream, but Zhang Fei couldnʼt sleep. He immediately released her from his embrace and walked out, but Bai Tianʼer was already waiting for him outside. ʼTch! This seductress! Iʼve rejected her many times, but sheʼs still stubborn.ʼ ”Why donʼt you go rest, Senior Sister?”

”I canʼt sleep because of you, okay?” Zhang Fei frowned in response to Bai Tianʼerʼs answer. ”Actually, Iʼm like this not because of you directly but because of your copy. Since he is your perfect copy, itʼs natural for me to blame you, right? What kind of ability did he actually use on me before? I know he attacked me with his soul power, but I know that he also attacked me with another ability. I was a soul cultivator, but I was unable to resist the effect, and he caused me to orgasm, despite the fact that he simply grabbed my hand.”

”No one, whether ordinary cultivators or soul cultivators, can withstand its effects.” Zhang Fei then sat down beside Bai Tianʼer. ”His abilities were part of my dual cultivation technique, both of which are related to charm and sex.”

Bai Tianʼer raised her eyebrows. ”So he charmed me with that technique?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”Fortunately, you are a soul cultivator, so the effect will disappear by itself soon, and you wonʼt be affected by it anymore.”

”I see.” Bai Tianʼer didnʼt deny it, sensing that the effect was beginning to fade, but it remained strong in her mind. ”Do you often use it on other women?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei was not embarrassed to admit it. ”I used it on some of my wives and partners, especially since I was still inferior to them at that time. Moreover, I needed strength, so I used it as a shortcut.”

”Do they know about that?”

Zhang Fei answered her with a nod. ”They were my wives and partners, so I told them the truth. They were not soul cultivators at that time, but some of them were able to resist the effects with their sheer willpower, and they surrendered themselves to me after we were together for some time.”

”Does that mean all of them are soul cultivators? How can they all be one?” Bai Tianʼer inquired with a perplexed expression. ”The soul cultivation path is not easy, and not everyone can take that path; even in our sect, there are only about a hundred soul cultivators out of thousands of disciples.”

”Naturally, I taught them to become soul cultivators, and I received guidance from my two seniors.” Bai Tianʼer remembered that Zhang Fei had mentioned those two people when he was talking to her master. ”Moreover, all of them have high comprehension, so they can understand it after listening to my teachings. You already met Boitata, Shen Xueyi, and Shen Yu earlier, so you should be able to see that their soul power is already quite high.”

Bai Tianʼer nodded in agreement. ”Their soul power has already reached the initial stage of the soul core level, and they will be on par with me once it breaks through again. However, I didnʼt expect that your soul power would break through to the perfection stage of the Soul Core Levels in this tower, so you are better than me in the soul cultivation path now.”

”I was fortunate enough to stumble upon something when we fell into the trap, which significantly enhanced my soul power.” Even so, Zhang Fei did not want to tell Bai Tianʼer about his act of absorbing so many vengeful souls. ”As for my wives and partners, we are dual cultivators, so I help them by doing dual soul cultivation with them.”

”Dual soul cultivation? Is it truly possible to use such a method?” After Zhang Fei nodded, Bai Tianʼer directly faced him and sat cross-legged. ”Can you show me how to do it?”

”Release your soul first.” Both of them immediately released their souls, and Zhang Fei grabbed Bai Tianʼerʼs hand; even their souls instantly held hands. ”You can flow your Yin Qi into my soul without worry, but I will flow my Yang Qi into your soul with restrictions, or you will not be able to withstand it.”

They then closed their eyes and began to channel their Yin and Yang Qi into each otherʼs souls. However, Zhang Fei proceeded very slowly, allowing their Qi to circulate between their souls at a gradually faster pace.

Bai Tianʼer was overjoyed to feel Zhang Feiʼs Yang Qi in her soul, but she immediately suppressed her excitement, or else they would suffer a backlash if she lost control.

Xian Changyue suddenly came out of her room, but she immediately stopped in her spot when she saw the Yin-Yang diagram above Zhang Fei and Bai Tianʼer. ʼHmm? Are they doing dual soul cultivation? How can they do that? Moreover, this kidʼs soul is stronger than Tianʼerʼs.ʼ

Since they were serious, Xian Changyue did not disturb them, floated to an empty chair, and then sat down. Her eyes intently watched their activities as she kept wonder in her heart.
