Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 450: Tianguo

”Why did you have to make this decision, Wuji?” With a disappointed look, Yang Yudie posed the question. Although she was aware of her sonʼs situation, it was still difficult for her to part with him, let alone letting him live in the Netherworld Realm alone.

Zhang Long also looked disappointed with his sonʼs decision. ”Are you sure about your decision? Look at Ziʼer; she is completely saddened by your decision, so I think you should reconsider it.”

”Father.” Zhang Xiaoling called softly as she grabbed her fatherʼs right arm, and tears also flowed from both of her eyes. ”Please... reconsider your decision... My mother and I need you by our side the most, so we canʼt lose you.”

Unlike them, Zhang Lingxue fully understood her big brotherʼs character, and she knew that he would never change his mind once he had made a decision. She was also saddened by his decision, but she tried to accept it. Moreover, her husband could bring him back to them whenever they wanted, and he could also find a safe place for him to stay, so she wasnʼt too worried about him.

”Silly girl.” Zhang Wuji immediately pulled Zhang Xiaoling into a hug. ”Although we live in two different realms, it doesnʼt mean you will lose me, and we can still meet often with Zhang Feiʼs help, remember? If we miss each other, we just need to ask him to help us meet, so itʼs not a big deal for us, right?”

Zhang Xiaoling immediately hugged her father tightly and cried even harder, making Zhang Wuji feel awful in his heart. However, he did not intend to change his decision for the safety of his family members, especially since he was certain that the people of the Sky Jade Realm would turn hostile towards them if they knew that he was a demon.

Zhang Long and Yang Yudie let out heavy sighs because their son was unwilling to change his decision, and Ziʼer also looked increasingly disappointed with her husband because Zhang Wuji still insisted on leaving them despite their persuasion.

”Do you really not want to rethink your decision, brother-in-law? Zhang Fei [1] asked as he exited the portable mansion, especially since his main body was still dual-cultivating with one of his wives.

Zhang Wuji immediately turned to him and nodded. ”You know more about the lives of demons like us, and we need not only Qi but also demon aura to strengthen ourselves. Aunt Wuhen is indeed close to our family, but I know for sure about her deep hatred for demons, and she may turn against us.

The cultivators in our realm are no different from her, and not everyone can accept our status as demons like your wives or partners. You are indeed strong with extraordinary abilities, and you have some private spaces. However, the current you is still weak, and you will not be able to help us face all the cultivators in our realm, so I made this decision for everyoneʼs sake.”

Zhang Fei [1] nodded in understanding. ”Since you have decided like that, I will return you to the Netherworld Realm and bring you to Arbeolaʼs place, and he will help you absorb the demon aura in that realm. I will also bring you here often since there is no Qi there, so you can only cultivate here and meet them often.”

”Thank you.” Zhang Wuji then looked at Ziʼer. ”Wife, you have heard his words yourself, so I hope you stop being sad because we will still meet often in the future.”

Although she still couldnʼt accept her husbandʼs decision, Ziʼer eventually tried to accept it. She then walked in front of Zhang Wuji and hugged him along with their daughter. ”Be careful and take good care of yourself there, and you should come here often to see us.”

”I promise, I will definitely see you guys often.” Zhang Wujie then spoke to his parents. ”Father! Mother! Iʼll entrust Ziʼer and Xiaoling to you two.”

Zhang Long and Yang Yudie reluctantly agreed to their sonʼs decision, and Zhang Fei [1] promptly brought Zhang Wuji back to the Netherworld realm some time later, leaving Zhang Xiaoling truly saddened by his departure.

In the end, the four people from the Zhang Clan chose to busy themselves with their training so they could forget their sadness a little. Moreover, they would not be separated from Zhang Wuji forever, and they were determined to bring him back to their side again, but they needed strength to do so.

After all, their potential enemies were all the inhabitants of the Sky Jade Realm, and their numbers were simply too numerous, so they wanted to take advantage of Zhang Feiʼs facilities to improve themselves.

When they arrived at the Netherworld Realm, Zhang Fei [1] immediately brought Zhang Wuji to Arbeola. He explained the situation to him, and the old demon tree did not object. ”All right, I will teach him how to absorb the demon aura in this realm, and you donʼt have to worry about his safety as long as he is under my protection.”

”Thank you, Old Demon. Iʼll leave my brother-in-law with you.”

”Wait a minute.” Zhang Fei [1] immediately turned to Zhang Wuji. ”I will strive hard to increase my strength in this realm, but we donʼt know what will happen in the future. If something terrible happens to me in the future, I hope you are willing to protect my wife and daughter.”

”Haha.” Instead, Zhang Fei [1] laughed and patted Zhang Wuji on the shoulder. ”Why are you acting like this, brother-in-law? Iʼm sure youʼll be safe staying here because Arbeola will protect you, and not many demons can fight him, so Iʼm certain nothing bad will happen to you. Moreover, Ziʼer and Xiaoling are my family, so I will definitely protect them without you having to ask me.”

Zhang Wuji then thought for some time before asking. ”Do you like my daughter?”

”Eh?” His question took Zhang Fei [1] aback. ”Xiaoling is a beautiful and clever girl, and I love it when she plays her flute. It would be hypocritical of me to say Iʼm not interested in her, but I donʼt have that kind of feeling for her yet, and you must be aware that she doesnʼt have any feelings for me either.”

”I know.” After all, Zhang Wuji knew his daughterʼs character very well. ”I want you to take her as one of your wives, but you have to try hard to win her heart, especially since she is similar to her mother and wonʼt fall for you so easily.”

Zhang Fei [1] shook his head directly at Zhang Wuji. Iʼll not promise anything, brother-in-law, and weʼll see what happens.”

After that, Zhang Fei [1] immediately returned to the training space to continue his seclusion with his partners, causing Zhang Wuji to let out a soft sigh. He immediately sat down in front of Arbeola, who began explaining to him about how to absorb the demon aura in the realm, especially since he was completely inexperienced as a demon.

”Now you can start trying to absorb the demon aura.”

”Yes, Senior.”

Meanwhile, in the Wasteland Realm, several men and women were gathered in a place, and they were discussing about Zhang Xiaolong [3], especially after they got information about him from the two gatekeepers of the fortress.

Even some members of the Shang Clan, such as Shang Wuzi and a few others, joined them.

”Hey, Wuzi! Is that kid really a demon fox?” A young woman, with short black hair and a slightly chubby figure sat on another young womanʼs lap, inquired.

Shang Wuzi responded by shrugging his shoulders. ”Huang Qianghua, I only met them briefly because Senior Yingyue was with them, so I didnʼt pay attention to that kid. However, they found him in the demon realm, and those guys could also sense a faint demon aura from him, so I thought he was indeed a demon fox.”

”What do you think about that, Hao Jianxiu?” Huang Qianghua asked the young woman who was holding her.

Hao Jianxiu nodded slightly in response. ”I believe that Huang Fujian and Hao Shihai would not be mistaken in sensing that kidʼs demon aura, so I agree with Wuzi that he is indeed a demon fox.

However, I cannot understand Shang Yaolinʼs reason for bringing him to this realm, especially since his cultivation is only at the 6-Star Soul Realm, so he will have no use for her, and he will have difficulty dealing with the unusual climate in this realm with his low cultivation.”

”Hahaha!” A young man with spiky red hair suddenly laughed. ”Jianxiu, I heard that Shang Yaolin is no different from you two, and he also has a deep interest in adorable things. I havenʼt seen that kid, but I have seen other fox kids, and they were indeed adorable when they were still small, so she probably brought him here for that reason.”

”Why do I feel that you are a strange man, Murong Yi?” The young man with spiky red hair frowned at the straight black-haired young man in front of him, but his appearance was really unusual because he was wearing a womanʼs dress. ”I wouldnʼt feel strange if such words came out of Jianxiu or Qianghuaʼs mouth, but you are a man, and you seem to have an interest in cute things like them.”

”So what?” Murong Yi then mocked the man back. ”Iʼm much better than you, Deng Shicang! Look at you; youʼre a man, but you act like an effeminate, and youʼre even shameless enough to wear womenʼs dresses in public.”

”You-”

”Enough!” A man with short brown hair and a stocky body immediately stopped the two of them, especially since they always acted like a cat and a mouse and quarreled with each other. ”Weʼre gathered here to discuss that fox kid, so you two should stop fighting.”

”Humph!” Murong Yi and Deng Shicang immediately snorted while looking away, making the two women laugh at their behavior.

Huang Qianghua suddenly asked the man. ”What do you think about that fox kid, Brother Qiao Xuan?”

”We donʼt need to think too much about that fox kid, right?” Qiao Xuan asked back while shaking his head. ”Everyone has long known that the Shang Clan uses the demons from the Netherworld Realm to do things, so I donʼt think they would mind his presence. Otherwise, Senior Yingyue and the others would have already made a move to kill him, so we donʼt need to bother with him.

Moreover, his cultivation is only at 6-Star Realm, so he is not a threat to us. Instead, you should think about yourself and donʼt look for trouble with Shang Yaolin; especially since Shang Xiaojuan is also in this realm, and he will do something to you if you dare to harass her.”

”Tch! That guy is really a madman!” Huang Qianghua spoke in a tone filled with profanity. ”He-Mhmm.”

Hao Jianxiu immediately prevented Huang Qianghua from speaking by covering her mouth. ”Be careful with your words; otherwise, Shang Xiaojuan will hear you, and you will be the one who suffers.”

Huang Qianghua nodded and pulled Hao Jianxiuʼs hand down. ”Anyway, Iʼm curious about that fox kid, and I want to see him in person, so you have to accompany me to the Shang Clanʼs residence after we finish our duties.”

”All right.” Hao Jianxiu immediately agreed to Huang Qianghuaʼs request, especially since she knew her character very well, so she couldnʼt let her meet Shang Yaolin by herself. ”You have to control yourself when you meet him later, okay?”

”Hehe.” Huang Qianghua laughed and briefly kissed Hao Jianxiuʼs lips. ”Didnʼt I have you? Youʼll definitely stop me if I lose control when I meet Shang Yaolin, right?”

Hao Jianxiu let out a soft sigh and nodded to Huang Qianghua, and she immediately put her down from her lap. ”Itʼs already late at night, so we should rest now, and weʼll meet Shang Yaolin later.”

After the two women left, Qiao Xuan turned to Shang Wuzi directly. ”What is your plan for gathering us? Are you thinking about getting our help to fight Shang Guangming? Shang Xiaojuan is also protective of him, so you better forget about it because we will never help you.”

”I wonʼt be so crazy as to fight a madman like Shang Xiaojuan, especially since his cultivation is above us.” Murong Yi then took a sip of wine from his jug before continuing. ”Moreover, Aunt Qianying will beat me up if I fight with him, so I wonʼt help you either.”

Deng Shicang also rejected Shang Wuzi, even though he still had not said anything. ”You may not know it, but Aunt Xinxin is also in this realm now, and we all know that she chose Sheng Guangming as her future husband.”

”Are you kidding me? How come I didnʼt know about her arrival in this realm?” Shang Wuzi exclaimed in shock.

”If you really want to suffer, then you can try to attack Sheng Guangming.” Deng Shicang then pointed towards the Shang Clan residence. ”Aunt Xinxin came together with Shang Xiaojuan, but she used her concealment artifact, so not many people knew about her arrival, and she should be in his room now.”

*Bam*

”Damn it!” Shang Wuzi cursed after banging on the table. ”Iʼve wanted to beat up that bastard for a long time, but Shang Xiaojuan always protected him every time I wanted to attack him, so I never got around to it.”

The three men ignored Shang Wuziʼs anger and stood up from their seats, but Qiao Xian spoke directly to him. ”Youʼd better refrain from attacking Shang Guangming while Aunt Xinxin is in this realm, or she will report you to Uncle Huaqiang, and he will definitely extend your sentence in this realm.”

Shang Wuziʼs face darkened as he watched the three men leave. ”Sigh! My sentence only has 10 years left, and Iʼm fed up with this realm, so I donʼt want to stay here any longer. I canʼt beat Shang Xiaojuan and Aunt Xinxin, but I think those other guys can help me do something about them, so I have to find time to meet them.

Otherwise, I wonʼt have the chance to beat Shang Guangming up once we return to our realm, so Iʼll settle things between us here.”

A large beast with black fur all over his body lay curled up on the ground inside a dark cave, his bloodshot eyes staring out and his sharp teeth exposed as he grinned. ”Those foolish humans still donʼt realize that fox kid is not a demon fox. Although I can smell a faint demonic aura emanating from his body, he is actually one of the mythical beasts, the heavenly fox.

He can deceive them by disguising himself as a kid, but he will never be able to deceive me, Tianguo! Based on his beast aura, he should have reached four to five tails, so he is definitely a teenager. I donʼt know what your purpose is in coming to this realm, but you better not disturb my peace. Otherwise, I will eat you alive, and I will absorb your beast essence to increase my strength.”

After that, Tianguo closed his eyes again, but his senses continued to be focused on the northern island, especially to keep an eye on Zhang Xiaolong [3].
