CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2098: Chapter 2106: Keep It Safe

Moreover, for Bright Sampton, who studied finance, the idea of him giving up his field to join electronic sports seemed crazy to everyone.

In the financial industry, the older you get, the more experienced you become.

However, in the competitive industry, it’s the opposite— as you age, your reaction time and physical fitness decline, naturally making it a job meant for youth.

Peter Gingery supported Bright Sampton’s decision to leave the team, but he was quite surprised that Bright ended his first career so quickly.

That night, Bright Sampton didn’t return to the Black Residence.

Close to 11 o’clock, he called Peter Gingery, saying he was having a farewell meal with his teammates and would stay overnight at the base dormitory, and would leave after packing up his stuff the next day.

This left Jane Sampson, who waited all night hoping to talk with Bright Sampton, feeling very helpless.

Just like the speculations surrounding James Black’s lack of updates on Twitter, netizens attributed Bright Sampton’s team departure to the significant impact on her younger brother caused by Jane Sampson’s misfortune.

There’s been quite a bit of interaction between Jane Sampson and Bright Sampton on Twitter, and everyone knows they share a really strong bond, even without biological ties as siblings.

Bright Sampton has also been known to support his sister commendably, once saying that without Jane taking care of him back in the day, there would be no healthy Bright Sampton today.

Therefore, not many netizens blamed Bright Sampson for leaving the team. On the contrary, his fans expressed sympathy and comfort, encouraging him to mourn and courageously pursue his life ahead.

Before sleeping, Jane Sampson came across these comments on Twitter, which made her somewhat worried.

She feared that once she returned to the public eye, Bright Sampson’s team departure might be criticized as reckless and inconsiderate of the team’s interests. However, since Bright Sampson had already acted so abruptly, there wasn’t much Jane could do, even if she wanted to.

Due to Bright Sampson’s situation, Jane Sampson didn’t manage to get much rest that night.

With so much on her mind, her thoughts extended into her dreams; closing her eyes, she thought of either James Black or Bright Sampson, leading to quite a restless sleep.

Upon waking the next morning, Jane Sampson’s head still ached from her increasingly unrestful rest.

Hearing noises from the living room downstairs, she went down and was surprised to see James Carter talking with Old Master Black so early.

”Grandfather.” Jane Sampson called out to the two from upstairs, ”Brother, why are you here so early?”

James Carter looked at Jane Sampson with a gentle smile, noticing her messy hair, telling that she’d come downstairs without even checking the mirror after waking up.

”I brought the documents over, thinking I’d also grab some breakfast here.” James Carter handed over the processed documents from his briefcase to Jane Sampson as she walked over, ”This one is yours, keep it safe.”

Jane Sampson, baring her teeth a bit nervously, accepted it with a slightly trembling hand. These seemingly light documents held assets worth several hundreds of millions.

”I’ll go upstairs and lock them in the safe box right away.” She said before turning to race back upstairs, fearing any delay might cause an accidental mishap with the documents, which could be troublesome.
