CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2078: Chapter 2086: No Need to Go

”That house was already worth more than 100 million.” Father Carter clicked his tongue, then jokingly said, ”Mom and Dad are so good to Jane, even I, as her father, am a bit jealous.”

That mansion was passed down from Granny Carter’s ancestors. The mansion is large, and not to mention how the land itself is incredibly valuable per square foot, the value of the buildings on the land alone is enough to make people envious.

Years ago, someone offered 150 million to buy this courtyard, but Granny Carter refused.

The Carter Family doesn’t need that much cash, and Granny Carter truly loves this mansion. When she was healthier, she used to stay there for ten days to half a month every year, so she was reluctant to sell it.

Later on, some TV drama crews and program crews wanted to do filming inside, and they contacted Granny Carter, but she didn’t want the house to be damaged, so she firmly refused.

Because of this, the mansion has become increasingly mysterious in the eyes of others, which makes more people want to buy it.

Long ago it was worth 150 million, but nowadays, it’s likely worth more than double that.

”James, you blame your grandma for being biased; you grew up mostly around your grandpa and me, but your sister didn’t. Your grandpa and I just want to make it up to Jane. When she has her own money, if she ever feels unhappy in the Black Family, she’ll have the confidence to leave.”

Still, Granny Carter feels that Jane Sampson will be happy in the Black Family for a lifetime.

Father Carter had long heard from his parents their plans to leave assets to Jane, but he didn’t expect it would include this house.

Back then, when Jillian Carter was still a child, she went to the mansion to play with her grandparents, and Jillian showed a great liking for that place. Even then, Granny Carter, who doted on her granddaughter, never mentioned leaving the mansion to Jillian.

”James would never blame you, mother and father. James and Jane, the siblings, have a good relationship. If James wanted to live there, Jane would surely share a room with him,” Father Carter said happily, sitting to the side. ”When I’m old, I’ll crash in a room too. I quite like that mansion.”

Granny Carter rolled her eyes at Father Carter, just about to scold him for thinking about the mansion, when Father Carter’s mobile phone suddenly rang.

Father Carter glanced at the caller ID and looked up, ”It’s Joseph Shaw.”

Father Carter answered.

”Dad, are you all still at the Black Family’s place? Jillian and I have landed. Should we also go there for a visit?” Joseph Shaw asked over the phone, somewhat apologetic. ”We should’ve come with Dad and Mom from the start, but the guard team had too much going on, so we only just arrived at Capital Province.”

”The two of you don’t need to come over. Jane and Jillian never really played together when alive, no need to go over and crowd her,” Father Carter dared not let Jillian know that Jane Sampson was not dead.

This was instinctive, a subconscious action.

Father Carter feared that if Jillian knew, she might do something detrimental to Jane Sampson.

Joseph wasn’t surprised that this suggestion would be rejected by Father Carter, so he didn’t insist but instead asked, ”Then, where are you now? Jillian and I will take a taxi to join you.”

”Jillian knows where her brother’s house in Capital Province is, just let her bring you over.” Father Carter hung up the call and thought for a moment, ”Mom and Dad, you should put these documents away, Joseph is bringing Jillian over.”

After a pause, he added, ”After securing them, lock them up someplace, don’t let Jillian know.”

After all, there’s not a bit in there reserved for Jillian Carter.
