CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2085: Chapter 2093: He Will Be Fine

”Auntie, how is grandfather?” Jane Sampson saw Brooke Black coming out and quickly stood up, walking over to her. She reached out and grabbed Brooke’s hand, her voice trembling, ”Auntie, did something happen to James Black?”

Brooke’s expression changed; she really didn’t expect Jane to be so sensitive.

Brooke shook her head, ”What nonsense are you thinking? James is perfectly fine; how could anything happen to him?”

”Auntie, I’m asking you, please don’t hide anything about James from me.” Jane bit her lips, ”I’m doing fine here, yet grandfather is ill. Plus, James isn’t home, and these few days, grandfather hasn’t mentioned anything about James. If something hadn’t happened to James, what else could be the reason?”

”Auntie, since yesterday, I’ve already noticed something off about grandfather, and you and my uncle-in-law, but you all refuse to tell me. You don’t want me to know, so I pretend not to know anything.” Jane’s voice grew quieter and quieter, almost speaking with just the gas left.

Brooke suddenly quieted down.

Indeed, the emotional matters, they could hide from Peter Gingery and Bright Sampton because those two children grew up in a care-free environment.

But Jane was the exception.

Since she was young, she was sensitive, could observe people’s expressions, and understand their emotions and thoughts.

This was a skill the Sampton Family gave her.

In contrast, if Jane wanted to hide her emotions, hardly anyone could tell.

She was skilled at it, and had been so for many years.

”Auntie, no matter what it is, whether about James, good or bad, please tell me all. I’m not as fragile as you or grandfather think.” Jane shook Brooke’s hand, ”Auntie, please tell me, I want to know.”

Initially, they thought they could hide it, but now Jane had found out herself and pleaded so, Brooke had no choice but to sigh lightly and tell Jane about James Black’s disappearance.

Brooke originally thought of telling only half, hiding the other half, but didn’t expect Jane, after hearing, to immediately say: ”It’s not just him disappearing, right? Auntie is hiding other things from me. Auntie, you also said just now, he didn’t only disappear last night, yet grandfather fell ill starting last night. There must be other things Auntie hasn’t told me.”

”You’re something else~” Brooke couldn’t help but tap on Jane’s forehead, ”Can’t you be a bit more naive like Peter and Bright?”

That’s it, Brooke no longer hid things from Jane, told her everything left.

After finishing, Brooke looked at Jane, worried she might cry and faint.

Waiting a few minutes without seeing any response from Jane, Brooke asked with worry in her eyes, ”Are you okay?”

Jane supported Brooke’s arm and gently shook her head, ”Auntie, I’m fine, just a bit overwhelmed.”

Jane let go of her hand, stepped back one step at a time, retreated to the place she was sitting just now, sat there dazed, silent. After a long time, she suddenly shook her head and said, word for word, ”I don’t think something would happen to him.”

Jane looked up at Brooke and earnestly said, ”Auntie, James won’t have any issues. Before he sent me back, he even said he wants me to wait for him to return, that he’ll find me the best doctor and take me to eat good food. In this world, anyone can deceive me, but James won’t.”
