CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2079: Chapter 2087: Up to You

Father Carter worries that if Jillian Carter finds out, she will make a fuss.

Although the two elders gave a dowry when Jillian Carter got married, it couldn’t rival what the two elders have left.

When Jillian Carter got married, she was no longer loved by the two elders. The dowry they gave seemed to be given because of Joseph Shaw, in Father Carter’s eyes.

If Jillian Carter hadn’t married Joseph Shaw, whom Old Sir and the old woman liked, Jillian Carter might not have been able to take those dowries from the two elders.

The road in Capital Province is a bit congested. It took nearly two hours for Joseph Shaw and Jillian Carter to get from the airport.

Throughout the journey, Jillian Carter obviously was in a good mood, with headphones on listening to songs, humming along.

Joseph Shaw didn’t bother her, but when they got out of the car and saw Jillian Carter still in this manner, he reached out to take off her headphones, reminding her, ”Once you’re in front of dad, mom and grandparents, don’t you think you should hold back your good mood? With this joyful expression as if you found money standing in front of the four seniors, do you believe, as soon as you enter the door, grandpa and grandma will kick you out?”

”Got it.” Jillian Carter rolled her eyes annoyingly and reluctantly put away the headphones, ”It’s just Jane Sampson who died, does everyone in the family have to keep a straight face?”

Joseph Shaw paused slightly, frowned, ”I know you don’t like Jane Sampson, but when a person dies, they become significant. She is already gone; can you show some respect for her, no, I should say, can you show some respect for dad, mom, and grandparents?”

Joseph Shaw said, ”Jane Sampson is indeed the biological daughter of dad and mom; they and grandparents are in pain because of Jane Sampson’s passing. As their child, even if you don’t like Jane Sampson, at this time, you should care for your dad, mom, and grandparents. Jillian Carter, if I were you, I definitely wouldn’t be able to laugh or say such things in front of these seniors.”

Jillian Carter’s face darkened, initially thinking Joseph Shaw was teaching her how to talk and act in front of seniors later, so she listened seriously, and when Joseph Shaw finished, she asked, ”Then when I go in later, should I pretend to cry?”

Joseph Shaw took a long breath and spat out two words, ”As you wish.”

Then he took steps forward.

The disappointment in his words couldn’t be described.

He was not teaching Jillian Carter how to behave when she sees seniors but teaching Jillian Carter that she should empathize with the seniors’ hardships and care for their health.

Yet she seemingly hadn’t thought about it and didn’t understand.

Joseph Shaw thought, forget it, after all, he demanded too much from her.

When they arrived at the doorway, James Carter opened the door for them. The four seniors were sitting in the living room, not saying a word.

Joseph Shaw held Jillian Carter’s hand as they entered, first greeting the four seniors, seeing their expressions were not good, Joseph Shaw walked up to the two elderly, comforting them, ”Jane Sampson knows you loved her. She is gone; you should take care of your health, so she can leave with peace of mind.”

Granny Carter responded and patted Joseph Shaw’s hand back, then glanced at Jillian Carter who was silently standing by Joseph Shaw’s side, before saying to Joseph Shaw, ”Sit down, you’re busy with the guard team; actually, you didn’t have to take leave to come over. We’re content with your thoughtfulness.”

Joseph Shaw, of course, wouldn’t take these words seriously; emotionally and rationally, having married Jillian Carter, such a significant event in the Carter Family required him to come over personally.
